As Head of Programmes, you will manage the work of a cross-functional team delivering a programme of grants, research, evaluation, communications, youth involvement and associated activity. You will make connections to relevant stakeholders and wider debates, positioning Youth Futures as an organisation at the forefront of thinking and practice in your programme area(s). You will work closely with externally-facing colleagues to feed learning and insight from funded programmes into our policy work, employer engagement and public communications. At the heart of the role is management and oversight of a thematic grants programme, ensuring that funded delivery is of high quality and enables Youth Futures to deepen and build the evidence base of what works in youth employment.

Consortium hosts the largest network of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + groups, projects and organisations in the UK (600 members) and offers a range of support so that they can deliver vital support and services to over 5 million LGBT+ people, their friends and families. We are also a specialist grant funder, having provided over £1.75m in grants since 2019, across 275 awards, with this being an exciting area of growth falling within the remit of this role.
We are recruiting for a Head of Partnerships and Development who will support our charity, and the LGBT+ sector, to continue growth in an appropriate and sustainable way. We are seeking an excellent relationship builder who can help us maximise our ability to generate positive social impact through relationship-building and fundraising skills.
As Head of Partnerships & Development you will be responsible for managing key business partnerships, identifying new potential income streams (for Consortium & the LGBT+ sector), and exploring opportunities to increase the impact of our work.
You will devise creative and innovative strategies including campaigns with partners, liaising with corporate contacts and building and developing relationships with new key stakeholders.

Place of work: Any SMF office (Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle). We operate a hybrid model of work, with flexible days in the office depending on business need and your preferences. About the role
The SMF has just agreed a new three-year strategy with bold ambitions to develop our programmes to have more impact on more young people, and to increase our influence on the systemic barriers to social mobility. As our Head of Partnerships & Income Development you will own the development and delivery of our income generation strategy so that we can build the partnerships and secure the resources we need to meet these ambitions.
You will primarily be accountable for overseeing and developing our impressive portfolio of corporate funding relationships and partnerships, through which we deliver on our strategic priorities and generate most of our income – currently £3m annually. As Project Support Officer you will support the Northern Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training (such as DBS, references, Food Safety Level 2, First Aid), giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our Yorkshire & The Humber projects to aid development and growth within the region.
Our projects are run by volunteers and supported by Regional Managers, through recruitment and training of volunteers. Your role will be to support the Regional Manager so that they can manage more projects, along with supporting the Regional Manager with expansion plans within their areas. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new volunteers for the region.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects. You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.
The role will require attendance at our Community Meals projects in Leeds, Sheffield, Hull and Bradford, with occasional evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.
