Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Over 22,000 children in over 1000 schools are receiving weekly reading sessions from a Schoolreaders volunteer. Role Overview:

Home-Start Barnet is seeking an experienced manager to lead its Family Services Team, so we can support more families with young children through their toughest times.
As Head of Family Services, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of Home-Start Barnet's family support services across Barnet, Brent and Harrow, through one-to-one support by volunteers, family support coordinators and groups. You will manage your team to maintain high standards in recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers, overseeing referrals and caseloads and maximising Home-Start’s impact and reach to local families facing difficulties.
You will work closely with the Chief Executive to develop and evolve Home-Start’s services in response to changing needs, informing the strategy for our family support and the development of specialist provision and training. We now seek to appoint a new Head of Philanthropy as a key member of the Development Team. Working closely with the Director of Development, President and wider Fellowship, the Head of Philanthropy will manage major gift prospect activity and raise funds to support the strategic objectives of the College. The Head of Philanthropy will manage and develop a portfolio of relationships and undertake prospect and donor visits, to ask alumnae and others for philanthropic support the College. Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the Head of Philanthropy will be responsible for managing the Philanthropy Officer.

Our mission is to bring hope and positive change to children and families. To achieve this we deliver a range of services. The Catholic Children’s Society (CCS) is one of the largest providers of mental health services to schools in London and the Southeast. Currently we have over 50 counsellors/therapists working on-site in approximately 70 schools (both Catholic and non-Catholic). We also provide outstanding early years education and family support, including offering emergency assistance for families in crisis.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to spearhead the growth of our successful services, ensuring more children and families can access the support they need.
This role will include a key focus on developing an effective marketing strategy to increase the number of schools accessing our early intervention mental health services. At a time when school budgets are under considerable pressure, the ideal candidate will be positive, proactive and results driven. They will be passionate about children’s mental health and education, as well as articulate and persuasive when presenting the case for why our services are needed now more than ever.
The postholder will thrive on achieving challenging targets and will lead on enhancing our profile across a range of media platforms. A strong marketing and/or sales background will therefore be important, together with a proven track record of successfully driving forward strong business growth (gained in the voluntary, public or private sectors).
The ideal candidate will be adept at working at both a strategic and operational level and will be happy to be ‘hands on’ and flexible to succeed in this varied and rewarding role.
