Programme Manager - Centre of Expertise
The Programme Manager will work under the guidance of the Head of the Centre of Expertise to support the delivery of Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD’s) role in the Centre of Expertise, leading on the procurement, contracting, monitoring and management of WFD Experts.
They will play an important and vital role within the team responsible for directly responding to requests from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) posts for expertise in democratic governance and for managing the deployment of experts where in-country visits are part of the terms of reference.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced Programme Manager with the following skills and experience.
Strong Programme Management experience and skills: At least five years’ proven track record in programme management, or in procurement or contracts administration with a background ideally in the international development sector.

This is a part time position of 28 hours per week over 5 days (or some of these days) with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced proportionately to 22.5 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday (or some of these days), with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 28 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.

As Project Support Officer you will support the Northern Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training (such as DBS, references, Food Safety Level 2, First Aid), giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our Yorkshire & The Humber projects to aid development and growth within the region.
Our projects are run by volunteers and supported by Regional Managers, through recruitment and training of volunteers. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new volunteers for the region.

The Network Lead plays a central role in helping us achieve our vision to end the need for food banks in the UK. This Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation (LME) Specialist is a key role for AmplifyChange. The person is responsible for measuring the impact of AmplifyChange’s work for internal and external use. The LME Specialist works closely with the senior management team, across AmplifyChange teams and with external consultants on implementing and contributing to the learning, monitoring and evaluation aspects of our strategy. The LME Specialist will have the skills to measure the impact of advocacy work of sexual and reproductive health and rights - both long-term impact and intermediate outcomes. The role has responsibility for preparing monitoring and impact reports for AmplifyChange’s leadership team, board and external stakeholders. The postholder will prepare, analyse and approve the organisation’s regular use of high-quality data – both qualitative and quantitative - and support grantee partners’ reporting processes. The role plays an important part in monitoring the overall grants portfolio and informing the learning agenda of AmplifyChange. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring the impact of AmplifyChange
• Producing a range of regular reports based on data analysis including on AmplifyChange metrics and results framework across our three delivery streams (which are grant making, organisational strengthening and building mutual support in the movement), as well as case studies from the grants portfolio
• Developing and monitoring the results framework for the strategy for 2026-2030
• Analysing indicators, milestones, and other quantitative and qualitative data collected from grantee partners. Compiling data and generating aggregate results for internal and external purposes as needed
• Developing a framework for long-term impact, and for intermediate outcomes, to describe and measure the results of AmplifyChange’s support to grantees

Job Purpose and Background Summary
Half of CDP’s income comes through philanthropic and statutory funding. In the first half of 2024, we have an ambitious pipeline of institutional tenders and proposals to deliver on, and we are looking to appoint an additional fixed-term Senior Development Manager to help us deliver on this pipeline and secure funding for our mission. About the Institutional Funding Team
Our seven-member team leads all aspects of pre-award project management, from opportunity prospecting through to contract signature. We already have a strong track-record delivering annual seven-figure income targets. We now plan to triple our income in the coming years, working with stakeholders including the governments of the United States, Germany, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, and the European Union, as well as the Global Environment Facility, the United Nations and development finance institutions such as the African and Asian Development Banks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Rapidly develop a working knowledge of CDP’s work, liaising with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for donors.
- Lead or supervise the development of institutional funding tenders and proposals, working with colleagues from technical, finance, compliance and monitoring and evaluation departments. In this period, this will specifically include several grant and commercial contract funding opportunities with the UK, US and German governments, and the European Commission.
- Generate and identify funding leads to contribute to the global institutional funding pipeline.
