Job description

Interim Head of Marketing

You will be engaged to develop the marketing (and communications) strategy and plans for agreement, in line with the overall strategy and plans. You will lead the team to implement the agreed plans, delivering the agreed outcomes and objectives.

Head of Marketing Responsibilities:

• Develop the marketing (and communications) plans for agreement, that support the delivery of the VDS strategy, business plan, purpose and values.
• Develop the optimum people and process framework that support the delivery of the plans, outcomes and objectives.
• Lead the team to deliver the expected short-term objectives and outcomes, as well as being set up for the future.
• The development and delivery of our digital plans, including website and all social media.
• All internal and external communications, including communications within projects such as policy renewals and Brexit.
• The development of optimum budgets to achieve outcomes and budget owner
• Accountable for the outcomes and quality of the VDS marketing plan and outcomes.
• The effective leadership and development of the team with clear objectives, effective coaching, 121s and appraisals.
• Attendance at Performance Executive Meetings as required
• Development and oversight of the communication plan and outcome
• Development and oversight of the digital plan and outcomes
• Overall brand positioning based on agreed outcomes.
• External partnership development for products and services
• Segmentation of membership and market for communications, sales and retention.
• External events, exhibitions and seminars plans and outcomes.
• Internal communications framework
• Ensure all plans support and develop the agreed member experience
• Overall member value and reach.
• Market research and insights.

Head of Marketing Requirements:

• Be an excellent communicator
• Possess strong people leadership skills
• Have a solid commercial and financial understanding
• Have experience of developing and delivering comprehensive marketing plans across the full mix of requirements, including communications, digital, social media and brand
• Lead teams, working and influencing cross-company up to Executive level
• Set clear outcomes and measurements
• Have financial services experience
• Be change-oriented – implementing plans that require change
• Have experience of working within a senior management team environment
• Possess a high degree of integrity and confidentiality
• Be a team player
• Be flexible, responsive and considered in approach
• Have exceptional communication skills
• Possess a high awareness of cultural sensitivity.

About the company:

Our client is a mutual insurance company founded in 1865 and run by experience veterinary surgeons on behalf of the veterinary profession.

Location: Office-based (Knutsford. Cheshire, WA16 8XZ), currently working from home but with ongoing flexibility so long as outcomes are delivered. Some travel is required.

Job type: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £60,000 per annum (pro-rated for 6 months)
