Job description

Manchester Cares are seeking a dynamic, passionate people-person to lead our team, to deepen our partnerships across the city of Manchester, and to oversee our programmes.

As Head of Programmes, you'll be outgoing and tenacious; a professional with an organised approach, a clear, authentic communication style and an intrinsic understanding of the power of networks and digital media.

We're looking for a self-starter: someone committed, tough, and focused able to work alone as well as collaboratively; who is passionate about developing Manchester Cares over the coming years.

The stand-out candidate will have knowledge of and a passion for the unique communities and culture of Manchester’s various neighbourhoods, alongside experience building and managing teams, budgets and complex projects and programmes.

We need someone who understands and is motivated by the demographics and social challenges of our city and the issues we work on – and in particular who is passionate about and can clearly promote our vision for building close community networks in order to tackle isolation and loneliness in Manchester.

In achieving this vision and lasting success, you will be trusted to work dynamically and independently in this exciting young organisation, with a growing profile and backing from major local and national supporters.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Full time (40 hours per week)
  • Salary: £30,000-£32,000 (plus travel)
