Doorstep Library is a community-focused literacy charity dedicated to bringing the magic of books and the joy of reading directly into the homes of children who need our support. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to head up our fundraising and marketing teams.
With one in four 11-year-olds leaving primary school unable to read or write properly, we recruit and train home and online reading volunteers to go into disadvantaged areas of London to help introduce young children (aged 0-11 years) to the pleasure and benefits of reading.

JOB PURPOSE
· Strategic responsibility for fundraising, including partnership development and maintaining the charity’s strong relationships with our wide range of funding partners;
· Strategic responsibility for marketing, to increase the charity’s profile and increase engagement;

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising to report to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will sit on the Senior Management Team, working closely with the CEO, Head of Operations and Head of Delivery and Engagement.
You will have substantial, proven experience of working in fundraising and of developing and sustaining partnerships, ideally in the third sector, and of how to build financial sustainability. You will be a highly organised people-person and will be responsible for line managing two Fundraising and Marketing Officers.
You will bring excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire others about our work. With outstanding interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to forge new relationships and you will thrive on enhancing our current partnerships and identifying and creating new ones.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy
· To work closely with the CEO and trustee board to lead on the development, planning and delivery the Doorstep Library’s fundraising strategy, with further development of a longer-term strategy;
· To manage and build upon the income streams for the charity;
· To take a lead on application bids, including managing, monitoring and evaluating all funding applications;
· To work closely with the SMT and actively contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the charity;
Grow, develop and sustain our partnerships and income streams
· To lead, deliver and grow our existing relationships with all of our funding partners; foundations, corporates, independent schools and individual donors to raise circa £850K pa;
· To identify new potential partners, working closely with the CEO and board of trustees to develop these partnerships;
· To establish a corporate supporters programme and individual giving campaigns, plus develop effective stewardship systems;
· To have responsibility for retaining and engaging the charity’s supporters, this includes providing formal reports and updates on the work of the charity;
· Working with the Fundraising and Marketing Officers to effectively communicate the impact of our work to internal and external stakeholders;
Communications
· Work with the Marketing Officer to implement improvements to our digital presence, including website optimization, social media strategy, and online advertising campaigns;
· Research and analyse sector news/ developments;
· Oversee the creation of the annual report and impact report;
· Create and maintain a stock of case studies/ success stories and photos;
· Monitor and report on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns;
Line Management
· To have direct line management responsibility for the Fundraising and Marketing Officers;

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria
1. A proven track record of delivery results in fundraising and/or partnership management
2. Knowledge of successful fundraising from a variety of sources, including at least two of corporates, major donors, individual giving, local authorities and trusts & foundations
3. Proven experience in securing five figure gifts, managing the donor cycle from initial stages through to stewardship
4. The ability to maintain current income streams and identify opportunities for growth
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and in an engaging manner in person and in writing to a variety of audiences
6. Strong relationship building skills – experience of working with a wide range of people, from large corporate teams to potential individual donors
7. Highly organised – ability to manage a number of projects and tasks at the same time

Job Purpose
Oceana is looking for an experienced Head of Policy and Research to develop, implement and advise on all of our policy and research requirements in the UK. The position will be based in Oceana’s office in Paddington, London. Occasional travel will be required to meet team members and stakeholders in geographically diverse locations.
Reporting to the Campaigns Director, the Head of Policy and Research will work closely with other members of the Campaigns team ensure Oceana UK’s campaigns are scientifically robust and promoting sound policies. The role will help Oceana to carve out its niche and leadership in this complex campaigning landscape and drive forward bold policy positioning and hard-hitting research that inspire meaningful change.
Eligible candidates should have experience in both policy and research, as well as being strategic and proactive. They should be a self-starter, have leadership experience, and have a strong ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
This role will be based in our Paddington, London office three days per week (Tues-Thurs) with two days home working (Mon and Fri). It reports to the Campaigns Director.
Role Overview:
Policy:
Ø Lead on all projects relating to improvements in UK fisheries policies – including interpretation, analysis and engagement on existing and potential policies.
Ø Lead on all work relating to improvements in UK marine policies more broadly (e.g. MPAs; pollution; MSP; offshore energies) - including interpretation, analysis, and engagement on existing and potential policies.
Ø Advise on the strategic approach that Oceana UK takes to policy work.
Ø Respond to government policy consultations linked to our campaign areas (or coordinate our response with internal staff/consultants), and contribute to group responses (e.g. Wildlife & Countryside Link).
Ø Engage effectively with government civil servants on relevant policy matters.
Ø Engage collaboratively with policy counterparts within NGO partners where required.
Ø Draft robust, evidence-based policy positions; advise Senior Leadership Team on new or existing policy positions; and provide reactive policy advice when required.
Research:
Ø Lead, manage and coordinate all research projects for Oceana UK (including scientific, legislative and legal research) working closely with the campaigns team.

Education and work experience:

Your purpose
This year Voice 21 are recruiting to a newly formed Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs department to help address these challenges. As Campaigns Manager, you will support the Head of Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs to make oracy education ordinary, co-ordinating and project managing communications campaigns as well as leading content delivery. In doing so, you will play an integral role in ensuring all children, regardless of their background, find their voice for success in school and in life.
Your responsibilities
● Play a senior role in the Communications, Campaigns and Public Affairs team, as part of the wider Learning, Impact and Influence directorate
Campaigns (70%)
● Responsible for developing and delivering integrated campaigns working closely with Fundraising, Marketing, Customer Service and Service Delivery teams.
● This will include, but is not limited to: growing charity awareness, recruitment and retention, growing our advocacy base and policy change campaigns
● Taking a lead role in development and project management, you will deliver our national campaigns and business as usual communications projects

2. Job Description
The Head of External Engagement is a key leadership post within the organisation. The role encompasses responsibility for the development and delivery of the organisation’s external activity, including profile, brand identity and stakeholder engagement (including the public), fundraising, and driving income generation in new areas, notably commercial partnerships. It also forms part of Sound and Music’s senior management team, who under the leadership of the Chief Executive are responsible for overseeing the organisation’s programme of activity, strategic development, external profile and a positive and productive organisational culture.
An experienced fundraiser and communicator, you will lead the external engagement team and support the delivery of its strategic and operational plans. The broad remit of the role means the successful candidate will be a strong and confident communicator who builds networks easily and prioritises exceptional stakeholder management and relationship development.
Sound and Music operates a hybrid working model with a mix of in person and remote working, so we welcome applications from anywhere in the UK. Our office is in London and the minimum requirement will be to attend one day per week.

3. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and management
External leadership:
· Represent Sound and Music publicly, including through stakeholder and supporter events
· Work with the Head of Programmes to ensure Sound and Music’s advisory groups are meaningfully engaged
· Be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for Sound and Music
Internal leadership:
· Shared strategic responsibility and accountability for Sound and Music’s three core aims and their associated objectives, outcomes and outputs
· Shared accountability (with other senior management colleagues) for the successful delivery and implementation of the organisation’s Business Plan
· Lead the organisation’s External Engagements team. This team includes a Communications and Insights Manager and Fundraising Coordinator (both line managed by the Head of External Engagement) plus support from other Sound and Music team members
Development and fundraising
· Develop and support the Chief Executive on the overall business and development strategy for the organisation to ensure we meet fundraising targets (£200k in 2024-25) for annual programmes and major projects
· Develop an ambitious fundraising programme which builds our supporter base and individual funding streams, including individuals, major gifts and public funders
· Drive income growth by identifying and negotiating commercial partnerships and contribute to the development of an enhanced commercial mindset across the organisation
· Develop and cultivate the existing trusts and foundations pipeline
· Prepare documents and reports for key funders including Arts Council England
· Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with key funders, commercial organisations and stakeholders and cultivate existing relationships within the organisation
· Establish new income streams, for example, by maximising the intellectual property created within the organisation
· Engage the Board of Trustees and senior management team in fundraising activities and the ongoing strategy to optimise donor management and stewardship to develop a culture of fundraising across the organisation
· Maximise the opportunities provided by the new CRM system and contribute to the development of a data-led mindset across the organisation
Communications and campaigns
· Develop and lead the overall communications and reputation management strategy for varied stakeholders to ensure we increase our visibility and influence in the sector
· Support the Chief Executive to build the profile of our brand, drive the media messaging and oversee and power our content media campaigns
· Support the Chief Executive to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with government and culture and media opinion formers
Strategy and planning
· Work with the Chief Executive and other senior management team members to monitor, evaluate and review KPIs, strategies and activity so as to maximise Sound and Music’s impact. This includes reporting and presenting to the Board and externally to help build engagement and relationships in the sector and with funders
· Assess the reputational, financial, delivery and other risks associated with current and new projects and partnerships
· Empower, model, support and encourage cross-team working to realise the full income generating possibilities of projects
Finance and governance
· Contribute to creating and monitoring the overall organisation budget
· Work closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Programmes and Finance Manager to formulate financial strategy against specified budget areas, and to ensure that the programme activity is sufficiently resourced, planned and delivered to budget
· Ensure close monitoring of income and expenditure for relevant budget lines and contribute to senior management team financial planning and review
· Attend Board and Financial Subcommittee meetings to present and report impact on a quarterly basis

The Policy and Public Affairs (PAPA) team is part of the Strategy and Knowledge Directorate at the NSPCC. The Directorate exists to help shape the world around us – and what the NSPCC does – so that it reflects what we have learned and can help keep children safe from abuse.
The Policy and Public Affairs team works across the four nations of the UK to influence legislation, policy and practice to ensure they are as effective as possible in preventing harm and abuse of children. We develop and hold the NSPCC’s positions on key public policy issues and harness these to influence policy makers and external stakeholders across the UK. We focus on policy priorities through our five core workstreams: the child protection system and children’s social care; early years and health; child sexual abuse; online safety; and young victims and witnesses.
We are recruiting a Policy and Regulatory Manager to play a central role in delivering our strategic ambitions to transform the online world so it safe for children. The post holder will play a management role in the high performing PAPA team which has a track record of successful influencing to ensure legal, policy and regulatory frameworks are fit for purpose in preventing, responding, and tackling child abuse and neglect.
The Policy and Regulatory Manager will spearhead our policy and influencing activity to make the Online Safety Act work for children. This will include delivering our regulatory strategy. They will be responsible for leading policy projects that contribute towards the NSPCC’s strategic objectives, using their skills and experience to strengthen our impact on public policy and regulatory decisions. In turn, they will make a significant contribution to keeping children safe.
They will play a key role in delivering our policy and influencing activity with figures in government departments, regulators, and civil society, with regular liaison with industry, and other sectoral experts.
The Policy and Regulatory Manager will manage cross-cutting projects across directorates, ensuring we can amplify the voice of the child by channelling the expertise held across the NSPCC’s policy, research, and knowledge teams, and from our wider services.
They will be responsible for line managing two policy and public affairs team members and supporting them to develop robust policy and regulatory analysis.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of online harms or related public policy areas and in-depth knowledge of regulatory structures and processes from experience of working in regulated sectors or for a regulator.
Job purpose
The Policy and Regulatory Manager will deliver public policy projects to support the NSPCC’s strategic objective to transform online protections for children. They will use their skills and experience to strengthen the NSPCC’s impact on public policy and online safety regulation.
The Manager will ensure our policy calls are robust and well-evidenced and develop policy strategies and regulatory liaison to leverage our expertise and secure necessary changes to legislation, regulation, and industry practices.
They will develop impactful and influential relationships with regulators, and with senior stakeholders across Government, parliament, industry, and civil society to inform crucial decisions about legislation and regulatory design, and in turn, the development of regulatory schemes.
The Policy and Regulatory Manager will play a lead role in delivering the NSPCC’s strategy of amplifying the voices and experience of children. We are looking for an ambitious and driven sales and marketing leader to play a central role in the next stage of Challenge Partners’ development and growth.
Established by headteachers in 2011, Challenge Partners is an education charity with a mission to reduce educational inequality and improve the life chances of all children. We do this by accelerating school improvement, leadership development, and pupil progress across the 575 schools in our partnership. We share excellent practice between schools and trusts through rigorous peer reviews, tailored school improvement programmes, and national and local collaboration.
By driving our sales and marketing activity, you will deliver a crucial strand of our ambitious strategy to enhance and extend Challenge Partners to benefit 500,000 pupils each year by 2027. Reporting to the Chief Executive, your main objective will be to inspire schools and trusts to join Challenge Partners. You will do this by leading a small sales and marketing team, and personally securing sales. You will also be responsible for enhancing our brand, PR and communications, and will support our fundraising efforts.
You will be the sales and marketing expert in the organisation, with good commercial sense and sensitivity to the sector. You will be able to design, execute and monitor impactful campaigns to help us reach new schools and trusts. You will have the personal credibility to win the confidence of school and trust leaders and the tenacity to convert interest into sales.
You will be a strong and highly skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and strengthen new and existing relationships. As a confident public speaker, you will engage and inspire audiences of school and trust leaders. As a senior leader you will have a track record of building, managing and developing high-performing teams and play an important role on our Leadership Team in steering the organisation and upholding our culture.
It’s not all about the strategic. We are a small, but diverse and dynamic team. We expect everyone in the central team to get stuck in, so you will need to be comfortable to both set the strategy and ‘do the do’ in the functions you oversee.

The role
As Head of Insight, you will lead the development of the evidence and insight programme to inform our strategy and support our policy, public affairs and influencing work within the healthcare system. The outputs of the evidence and insight programme will directly inform our strategic and operational objectives to achieve better diagnosis, better care and better lives for everyone affected by Crohn’s and Colitis.
Our evidence and insight programme is helping us to understand more about the breadth of experiences of everyone living with Crohn’s or colitis across the UK including those in diverse communities. You will work with our Evidence and Insight Advisory Board and a range of agencies, partners, researchers, clinicians and stakeholders, including people with lived experience.
The programme includes developing a new dashboard, co-produced with people with lived experience, providing a visual representation of the impact that Crohn’s and Colitis has on people’s lives across health, education, employment and finances.
About you
You will have knowledge and awareness of the UK health environment and be experienced in using health data, research, evidence and insight to influence or communicate with stakeholders.
Although you will not be doing research yourself, you will be contracting agencies and researchers to commission pieces of work and gather data to support the charity in all its activities.
You will have experience of leading teams and managing programmes in the NHS, charity, wider health or research sectors.
