Arts Emergency – Head of Fundraising 

Location: Home or office based - London N4 or Manchester M1.  

Salary: £40,000 per annum FTC.

Arts Emergency, a mentoring charity and support network aiming to address the inequalities in the creative and cultural sectors, is looking for an experienced and motivated fundraiser to provide leadership and management for fundraising activities. 

Since 2013, Arts Emergency has been providing 16-25 year olds in London, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and beyond with a trained mentor working in their field of interest. Mentors help Young Talent set goals, explore their passions and make decisions about higher education, training and careers.  After they complete a year of mentoring, Young Talent can continue to access opportunities, advice, resources and paid work from the Arts Emergency Network until they turn 26. The network is made up of thousands of cultural professionals who’ve all offered to share crucial gateways into hard to crack industries like TV, publishing and architecture with young people.

This position will be responsible for raising the necessary income to ensure Arts Emergency’s high-quality, person focused, asset-based services for young people are sustainably funded and can

scale. This is a new role that reports to the Director of Fundraising & Marketing, overseeing a diverse income portfolio including individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate donations, commercial income and community fundraising. The Head of Fundraising will have a particular focus on managing and growing the charity’s income from individuals and organisations, with an aim to increase overall fundraising to £1.25m in 2026.

Arts Emergency are seeking candidates that are passionate about building and developing strong teams and who can implement ambitious plans for funding work by making best use of their large community of young people, volunteers and organisations across the Arts, Humanities and in the Cultural and Creative industries. You will be an inclusive leader with the ability to inspire and motivate others, with a strong understanding of charitable income streams gained from experience working at a similar level in a small organisation or in a senior position within a larger organisation/team. Purpose of Post 
The Fundraising Partnerships Manager will be responsible for securing and account managing national corporate partnerships, and national trusts and foundations to help air ambulance charities save even more lives across the UK.

• Provide exceptional account management.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management

• To provide exceptional account management to ensure partners meet agreed income and engagement targets and other key objectives.

• Generate income from national partners - including employee fundraising, sponsorship, and cause related marketing.

• Support national pipeline research and development for partnerships and grants.
• Through strategic research, identify and prioritise potential national trust and foundations (in collaboration with air ambulance charity members), with the ability to give significant grants through partnership working.
• Creation and development of national fundraising proposals and stewardship reports, applying a creative approach where possible.
• Create engaging assets for applications and compelling pitches, delivering pitch presentations virtually and in person.
• Lead on research and applications for agreed national prospects, building long-term relationships with key contacts at prospective partners.
• Work with air ambulance charity members to identify projects and opportunities for national funding from trusts and foundations.

The Head of South England & Wales is responsible for leading our vision to end the need for food banks in South England & Wales. This role will lead our team of Network Leads and Area Managers as they empower every food bank to orientate their work towards ending the need for their services through the provision of bespoke support, enabling them to reduce the numbers of people requiring emergency food. This role will work with key national partners in South England and Wales to support our network to tackle the underlying drivers of poverty.

Role responsibilities

· Responsible, as a member of the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team for leading the delivery of the Trussell Trust strategy for ending the need for food banks in South England and Wales, working to embed the Changing Communities, Changing Minds and Changing Policy programmes across the network.

• Represent Relate at a range of events to promote the brand and the service offer.
• Contribute to annual budget and strategic planning cycles.
• Stay abreast of industry changes and competitive landscape to adjust strategies accordingly.

Education and Training

• Experience and formal training in a recognised Sales Methodology e.g. MEDDPICC, SPIN, Sandler
• BA Hons (desirable)

Demonstrable Experience and Knowledge

• Substantial proven experience in business development, b2b sales, or a similar role, in the service and/or not for profit sector
• Track record of securing seven-figure contracts.

Role Summary:

Working for the Head of National Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for securing income-generating corporate partnerships to drive forward engagement across the whole Speakers for Schools proposition.

This role is the engine of growth for the charity: sourcing, engaging, and developing partnerships with employers across the UK. These partnerships will provide opportunities for high-need young people across the UK to access our programmatic interventions while delivering income to support the financial sustainability and growth of the charity.

This crucial role will demand close collaboration and working across all directorates to develop and deliver compelling and successful bids and proposals to potential partners.

This role offers a starting salary of £31362, rising to £33948 after a years successful service.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Strategic Purpose:

• Developing outreach strategies to secure corporate partnerships in support of the Charity’s aims and goals.
• Meeting income generation targets as determined by the Head of Business Development.
• Responsible for developing and agreeing programmatic design for corporate partners in collaboration with programme and delivery teams.

Engagement:

• Working closely with delivery teams to ensure smooth transition for employer account management.
• Working closely with programme and delivery teams to ensure new partnerships are deliverable.

The Role 
 
Yorkshire Cancer Research is seeking an experienced Learning and Development Manager to develop and deliver the Charity’s learning and development strategy.

As a member of the People Team, supporting the Head of People, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of learning and development within the charity, identifying learning priorities and translating these into engaging L&D initiatives, aligned to delivering the Charity’s strategic aims. 
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Develop and implement a comprehensive L&D strategy that drives a culture of employee led learning.

• Lead the execution of the Charity’s L&D strategy, organising all planned L&D activities, reporting monthly / quarterly performance against agreed KPI’s. 

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and assess individual and organisational learning needs and develops tailored learning solutions that support delivery of the Charity’s strategic aims 

• Actively promote L&D opportunities and learner ‘stories’ to inspire employees and reinforce a culture of continuous learning and improvement 

• Lead the EDI agenda for L&D, ensuring all interventions are inclusive, reporting on key metrics within the L&D strategy 

• Act as the ‘go to’ lead on learning and development, providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders. 

• Manage cross-departmental and cross-functional relationships and activities to ensure learning and development is well integrated into wider team objectives 

• Provide guidance to employees seeking professional development opportunities, offering advice on career paths and recommending relevant L&D resources / opportunities 

• Prepare, track and manage the learning and development budget effectively, reporting monthly progress to the Head of People. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have proven experience working in a similar role at a similar level such as a Learning and Development Specialist.

• To be CIPD Qualified (level 5 minimum) 

• To have a recognised coaching qualification (e.g. ICF) is desirable 

• To have experience of end-to-end design and delivery of training programmes, including undertaking training needs analysis and measuring training outcomes 

• To have experience of developing an L&D strategy that supports the delivery of business objectives 

• To have experience of designing and implementing learning solutions that are inclusive and meet the need of the organisation 

• To be confident in sourcing high-quality, and engaging e-learning or video modules or facilitating the development of learning materials to meet required needs.
