We’re looking for a highly motivated communications professional who is passionate about supporting the growth of FoodCycle and working to help people understand the many benefits of community dining.
We’ve grown a lot over the last 15 years and our weekly community meals now run in more than 85 towns and cities across England and Wales. This role is vitally important in supporting our growth - we have plans to reach 100 Community Meal Projects by the end of this year as well as launching new initiatives that will help us support more families and children.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Marketing and the wider marketing team to develop campaigns and plans that will get as many people as possible talking about FoodCycle’s work, enhance our visibility and become the leaders in delivering and promoting community dining.
You will have experience working within media or PR, with a track record of securing high quality media coverage. You will have knowledge of the media landscape, and the ability to craft a press release, pitch a story, work with case studies, and write blog posts.
Benefits: We offer 26.5 working days (this includes 3.5 days for the Christmas close down) plus additional holiday for length of service, up to a maximum of 30 days (pro-rata for part-time). SERVICE LEAD - Community Accommodation Service - Tier 2
Salary - £35,235 per annum

Who are we looking for?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Service Lead to manage and lead a team of Support Workers to deliver high quality, effective supported housing services and housing management services to a range of service user groups (including those on Bail, prison leavers and those going through the criminal justice system) that meet their needs, contractual requirements and organisational financial targets.
You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of support planning and safeguarding as well as experience of working with vulnerable adults with complex needs (such as substance misuse, physical health, mental health, seeking employment and housing support).
We are looking for a Manager who is able to prioritise tasks effectively; ensuring their team are supported, Service Users needs are prioritised and contractual KPI's are met.
You will need to be adaptable and highly organised to balance your time. You will champion relationship mapping in your region, including developing links with supporting agencies, promoting CAS2 at external forums and being part of multi-agency meetings.
You will have previous line management experience and the ability successfully lead and line manage a team. You will have excellent people skills, which will be inclusive of problem solving, and both written and verbal communication skills.
The role sits within the Lancashire Region, therefore travel within Preston, Burnley and Lancashire will be required alongside occasional travel to other Nacro Regional Offices.
Essential Criteria:

What are the main duties of the role and the Location of Work:
The role offers flexible working in the community (visiting staff and properties) and from home to complete admin tasks. The role includes lone working, you will regularly meet with your team regularly to discuss complex cases. You will be required to travel for training and team meetings.
Main Duties
·Effectively lead and deliver services which comply with the regulatory framework
·Meeting service quality standards and ensuring your team are adhering to all operational and policy standards. Be the accountable lead for the service.
·Ensuring all service user support and safety plans are in place, are in date and reflect individual needs
·Ensuring your staff team understand and meet the agreed financial standards on voids, arrears and re-lets.
·Acting as a lead operational partner liaising with other agencies, partners and commissioners as required. Agreeing service level agreements with external agencies that can provide specialist support to your service and build and maintain effective working relationships both externally and internally.
·Work collaboratively with other internal support services -such as Quality, Policy and Safeguarding as well as Finance, IT and HR in order to ensure we are providing the best service to our users.
Promoting service user involvement in service design and Delivery. Managing the rota and on-call arrangements to ensure that appropriate support is in place and participate in that rota.

Finance Business Partner – Fundraising & CAA

We are looking for a talented and motivated Finance professional to fulfil a key Finance Business Partner role supporting the Fundraising and Communications, Advocacy, and Activism (CAA) directorates at Mencap. This role will help deliver high quality insight and financial management which informs decision-making and helps to ensure maximum impact from our fundraising income.
As the Finance Business Partner for Fundraising and CAA you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient utilisation of financial resources to maximise fundraising returns and ensure efficient spend which is aligned to strategic objectives. NB. This is a full time 12-month FTC position.
There is flexibility around where the role is based. We have large offices in London and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK and you may need occasional travel to for meetings. However, this role will primarily be working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting for the directorates, facilitating informed decision-making and effective financial management.
· Support Finance Lead to provide a comprehensive Finance Business Partnering service to business areas.
· Support financial planning processes and provide analysis, guidance and challenge to ensure the development of robust and credible plans.
· Identify risks and opportunities related to fundraising financial performance, providing strategic guidance to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities effectively.
· Ensure correct accounting and reporting of Restricted Funds, ensuring they are spent as intended and support on reporting to external funders where required.
· Ensure financial compliance with technical and regulatory requirements, including gift aid and Charity Commission guidance.

Your Experience:
Essential:
· Worked in a Finance department providing Management accounting, business partnering or forecasting/budgeting support.
· Strong Excel skills.
· Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
· Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, providing accurate and timely information.
Highly Desirable:
· Finance Business Partnering and/or Financial Planning experience. Ideally in a Fundraising or income-generating unit.
· Working towards ACMA / ACCA / ACA qualification, or suitable experience.
· Knowledge of charity finance regulations and fundraising practices.
