About the role:
As Senior Outreach Worker, you'll make use of your strong interpersonal skills to connect with individuals from all walks of life. Building trust, assessing needs, and generating creative ideas to steer people away from rough sleeping will be the focus of your role.
Collaboration is key in our team. You'll work together with specialist Navigators, Outreach workers, substance use outreach services, and mental health outreach teams. Plus, you'll be pivotal in forging strong relationships with a range of housing providers in the borough.
To thrive in this role, you'll have knowledge and experience in substance use and recovery, trauma informed practices of working, and the complexities of the homelessness sector.
Your commitment to flexibility will be crucial in providing the support, empowerment, and opportunities needed to guide individuals toward suitable and stable accommodation.
About you:
- You will demonstrate a strong understanding of planned support principles and the ability to assess the needs of those who may be reluctant to engage with services.
- You will know the various barriers faced by people who are sleeping rough and what services are available for those facing multiple disadvantages.
- You will be self-motivating, able to work under pressure, manage your schedule effectively, and able to work flexibly Monday to Friday, at times when rough sleepers are often seen bedded down.
- You will be able and willing to travel across the borough of Redbridge at times when public transport may not be readily available.

We’re seeking a passionate and committed individual (female) to join our team as a Resettlement Support Worker. In this role, you will play a vital role in a team that has been supporting sanctuary seekers in Lambeth since 2016.
Your mission: to support individuals and families to feel safe in their homes and empower them to build new and fulfilling lives in the UK.

About the role
As a Resettlement Support Worker, you will work with a caseload of families and individuals who have either arrived in the UK under specific resettlement schemes or who have recently been granted their refugee status. You will support people in the community and their homes, which may be in supported, temporary or private sector accommodation.
In your role you will work with clients on their support plans, guiding them to identify their goals as they begin a new chapter in Lambeth. Support to our clients is holistic and will include: support to register with GP and access/understand UK health system; support to understand and apply for benefits; support and encouragement to engage in Employment, Training and Education opportunities; support to manage their housing and in the case of clients living in temporary accommodation, support to move on to more sustainable options. Our ultimate goal is for clients to feel safe, respected and hopeful for their future in the UK.
About you

About the project
In an innovative partnership with Southwark Council, Southwark Law Centre, and Impact for Urban Health, we’ve been supporting close to 200 private renters over the last 3 years who have been threatened with eviction by their landlords, or are living in temporary accommodation, to sustain their tenancies and/or find onward housing in the social or private sector that is suitable for their health, needs and aspirations.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate support worker to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Housing Support Practitioner in our small and dedicated team. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed with the support of the Housing Link Worker. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. You will be working in partnership with other stakeholders such as schools and health professionals to improve family health, build relationships and engage families and individuals and their networks of support.

You will have experience of working with individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who is self-motivated, confident and thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience delivering holistic support, be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work sensitively and empathetically with people in vulnerable circumstances. This role will specifically support a caseload of up to 7 unaccompanied young people who are seeking asylum in the United Kingdom and have been placed in their services as part of the Lambeth Young Peoples Pathway.
This role works to their person-centred support model building on customer care, health and safety, flexibility, adaptability and other skills to assist homeless individuals who are currently unable to live independently, by offering them the practical and emotional support they need to regain their Independence.
As well as the very specific needs related to their status as an asylum seeker these young people come to them with a range of other support needs, including but not limited to mental health and learning disabilities.
The support for each customer is person-centred, requires creative energy and is hugely rewarding forcolleagues as well as life changing for customers.
