About the role:
Reporting to the Community and Events Lead, you will be part of a friendly team whose aim is to raise money from community and events fundraising activities. Proactively managing projects, building relationships with individuals and groups within the community is key. Along with focusing on maximising opportunities from existing supporters, you will work to harness and support new ideas and partnerships to grow this vital income stream.
About you:
For you the supporter is key, whether they’re a running in a marathon, holding a tea party, or taking part in an international sponsored bike ride.
You’ll be enthusiastic, have strong verbal and written communication skills and some experience working in charity fundraising and of community fundraising - voluntary or paid. Above all, you’ll need to be passionate about community fundraising.

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions across North and East London, West Essex and East Herts. Our mission is to provide the highest quality palliative and holistic care services to children and their families in our local communities.

This is a great time to join the team at Haven House as our Trusts and Grants Manager. We have recently restructured the Income Generation and Marketing team and this role sits within the High Value team, working alongside Corporate fundraising, Philanthropy and Special Events, and reporting into the Assistant Director of IGM/ Head of High Value Partnerships. The team are currently developing a new high value strategy, to underpin the organisation wide strategy and the overall IGM strategy.
At Haven House the focus within the Income Generation and Marketing Team is to put the supporter and donor at the centre of everything we do, ensuring they feel inspired by our work and the children and families we support; engaged and committed to our cause and ultimately make a commitment to do something amazing.
We’re looking for an individual who is has the experience and skills to manage and nurture relationships with our existing donors and funders from charitable trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies as well develop long lasting commitments through new donor partnerships.

We are looking for a Senior Community and Events Fundraiser for an inspiring hospice to join a team to maximise income and support from the community, individuals, groups and businesses.
This role will be based on site in Surrey and can be Part time (30hrs) or full time (37.5hrs), offering £35,000 (pro rata for part time).

A cherised hospice, dedicated to creating space for people to live in comfort and dignity. They have a staff of c400 people securing c£17m last year.

The Role
Join a team to maximise nceom from an array of community activities and events.
Manage your own portfolio for specific projects, activities and events. Project manage open challenges (e.g. London Marathon, skydiving, international bike rides etc.)
Organise hospice led events as required, including liaison with venues, suppliers, monitoring expenditure against budget, volunteers and participants.
Line management of the Community and Events Fundraising Assistant(s).
The Candidate
2 years experience of fundraising in a community, challenge or mass participant event capacity.
Experience of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with individual fundraisers/supporters and of developing partnerships.
Experience of setting and working to budgets, targets and plans.
Ideally previous experience of managing staff and/or volunteers.

St Joseph's Hospice was founded in 1905 by the Religious Sisters of Charity and as such it has a rich, Catholic heritage which informs our work today: to support and welcome those in need, from all different cultures, religions and backgrounds.
We provide high quality specialist palliative care for patients with cancer and other life-threatening conditions across East and North London. We have a large team of clinical staff who work across community, in-patient and out-patient services delivering individualised, responsive and holistic support to patients and their families/carers.
We’re looking for motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking registered staff nurses to work within our two In-patient wards that have 17 beds each for patients. You’ll have experience of working in end-of-life care within an acute or palliative care setting. We will also consider newly qualified nurses who want to develop a career in palliative care. The successful candidates will be keen team players with good interpersonal and communication skills who enjoy working in a challenging environment whilst displaying a caring attitude at all times.
You will need:
- To be a Registered General Nurse and hold a Intra Venous administration Accreditation
- The ability to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Experience of working in end of life care within an acute or Palliative Care setting.
Continuation of NHS Pension Scheme is available.
