Job Description
Lead on service delivery, management and governance
– To provide strong leadership for the service based on a clear vision for the service, clarity of standards and outcomes to be achieved.
– With the Head of CYP support the strategic development, planning and delivery of specialist EWMH services for children and young people ensuring an effective co-ordinated offer for these families is in place.
– To have the primary responsibility for establishing, maintaining and developing consistent and high standards of professional and managerial competence amongst all staff involved in the delivery of EWMH services.
– To provide line management to the Service Managers and named roles above and work with them to ensure they provide an effective service to children, young people and families in Surrey.
– Maintain up to date detailed knowledge of legislation and national policy and to ensure SLT, CYP management team and the service are briefed on changes.
– To have lead responsibility for ensuring EWMH services operates in a way which safeguards children and adults and is fully compliant with safeguarding policy and procedure
– Understand and manage risk and safeguarding issues across the team, being the named lead and providing advice on guidance on all risk and safeguarding issues and escalating cases to DSLs as appropriate.
– To ensure that the health and safety of all families, children, young people, staff and volunteers is properly addressed and enforced through appropriate policies and procedures including risk assessments for all areas and activities
Manage stakeholder engagement and financial integrity
– Lead on ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional requirements
– To ensure that key relationships and business processes are in place to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
– Work with the Development Manager to support the Managers and Coordinators to write funding bids and reports for new and existing work.
– To ensure EWMH services meets both national, local performance and quality indicators in an effective and timely way.
– Ensure all key policies for EWMH team and processes are up to date and fit for purpose
– To work with CEO (Director of SWP) Head of CYP and Head of Finance to agree an annual budget for EWMH services and to play a role in negotiating annual funding settlement through the SWP contract.
– Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure services deliver value for money, within budgets and are evidence based, ensuring that services are rigorously evaluated in terms of quality and outcomes and that they continuously improve and are provided in response to children’s needs.
– Maintain up-to-date and detailed knowledge about and relationships with commissioners of services including but not limited to Surrey CC, Surrey Heartlands ICB and various Borough Councils
– Ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of EWMH service delivery output, outcomes and targets.
– Represent YMCAES EWMH services on a variety of external forums including Surrey Wellbeing Partnership and Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Training and Development
– Ensure the effective Safer Recruitment and retention of EWMH working with HR colleagues and Head of CYP as appropriate.
– Contribute to an in-house training programme for EWMH staff, CYP staff and volunteers, which is also offered to all YMCA East Surrey staff and volunteers and key partners.
– Work with the Head of CYP and HR to develop volunteering, apprenticeship, and traineeship opportunities in EWMH services. –
Attend CYP Advisory Group and Team Meetings and give presentations and input as required.
Buildings and Infrastructure
– Ensure buildings and facilities for the delivery of EWMH services are fit for purpose including the Phoenix Youth Centre reporting to SCC and effective working with statutory and voluntary sector partners with the support of the YMCAES Central Services Facilities team. Provide effective management and support and demonstrate the values and culture of YMCA East Surrey.
– Ensure that all activities demonstrate the values and culture of YMCA East Surrey
– Work with the Head of CYP/Deputy CEO to support the implementation of YMCA East Surrey strategy and Operational Plan.
– Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.
– We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/adults at risk. This role will require an enhanced DBS disclosure. We require you to understand and demonstrate this commitment and attend any required training
Salary:
£46,000 to £50,000 per annum deplending on qualifications and experience

Annual Leave

Role Requirements
Operational Management
- Manage the generation and distribution of stock, including organising the logistics for van deliveries and collections to meet both shops and customer requirements.

Standards and Compliance
- Manage full compliance of the Children’s Trust shops in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Fire safety, Trading Standards, Retail Gift Aid, GDPR, ThankQ CRM, Risk Assessments, Safeguarding and all other legal or statutory requirements.
- Deliver and manage internal and external audit processes working with Retail Sales Manager and Head of Retail to ensure that all audit actions and recommendations are delivered by the team.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Partner, you will coordinate the end to end recruitment process and assess candidates during each stage of the process to ensure high levels of engagement with stakeholders and a best in class candidate experience.
You will also help to identify talented and diverse candidates for both open and future positions across our academy network and central team services.

- Supporting academies by coordinating an efficient recruitment process in line with Federation objectives, department SLA and policies.

About Social Change Lab
Social Change Lab is a nonprofit conducting and disseminating social movement research to help solve the world’s most pressing problems. Historically, social movements conducting disruptive campaigns seem to have been crucial in driving significant political, social and economic change. Despite this, there has been little research systematically analysing the effectiveness of social movements and the strategies or tactics that most influence the success of these campaigns. Overall purpose:

• Act as a trusted, technical specialist for our business systems, by developing a comprehensive and rigorous knowledge-base of the software architecture, whilst overseeing its maintenance and ensuring the department (and by extension, the organisation) benefits from its full capabilities.

Online Searches

Inclusion Barnet is Barnet’s Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation (DDPO), led by a board and senior management team of disabled people, and we’re passionate about using our lived experience of disability to work towards inclusive communities and greater social justice for all. This role works on issues across all Barnet’s diverse communities, and all work needs to be undertaken through an equality and access lens. Therefore, we’re looking for someone with their own lived experience of disability (which could include mental health issues or a long-term condition), a commitment to the social model of disability, and an ambition to contribute to a fairer society for all. We also particularly welcome applications from global majority candidates, who are currently underrepresented at leadership level in our organisation.
The successful candidate will be our strategic lead within our award-winning Barnet Together partnership, working as an equal partner with Young Barnet Foundation and Groundwork London. You’ll be overseeing our community organisation support, ensuring that the team meet their KPIs and that we also deliver on our work to challenge inequalities for marginalized groups. You’ll represent the voluntary sector at the most senior level in Borough meetings, and support the development of the VCSE Alliance for North Central London.
You’ll also oversee our libraries, strategizing and identifying opportunities to enhance the service, and act as contact point in our role as Locally Trusted Organisation for the Grange Big Local.
To succeed, you will need extensive experience of the voluntary sector, partnership management, and the gravitas to represent the sector to senior local leaders. You’ll be a natural problem solver and an advocate for equality, as well as a collaborative, coaching manager; a great relationship builder with tact and emotional intelligence, and a champion for the contribution of the sector to the borough, and society more widely. In return, you will become part of a friendly and supportive team, working within a focused but flexible culture, where diversity is valued and you can bring your whole self to work.
This is a UK based role, and whilst most of it can be done from home, candidates need to have, or be willing to relocate to, a base within about two hours travel time from Barnet. We anticipate a need to be in Barnet on a weekly basis on average, for which travel will be paid. We encourage flexible working to suit your work/life balance preferences where possible. We also operate a Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) system.
