This is a newly created role and there is a great deal of untapped potential here for a proactive leader to support the CEO and SLT to create efficiencies in how we manage our internal infrastructure (IT Systems and processes), Finance and charity Governance, and HR/people to ensure we maintain and develop a thriving and nurturing working environment. The individual will have significant involvement in the strategic vision of the organisation as a whole. With a broad portfolio, the role combines both operational and strategic elements and must be able to flex up and down accordingly.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly organised individual, in a supporting role to the HR and Learning & Development Manager. The role will assist with day to day operational tasks, providing managers and staff with effective administrative support in all aspects of Human Resources.

You will provide HR generalist administrative support for the full employee lifecycle, as well as support with the end-to-end recruitment cycle in line with The Churches Conservation Trust’s policies and procedures, best practice and legal requirements. You will assist with the provision of training and development of staff ensuring compliance with mandatory training.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work as part of a small team, whilst also independently and proactively completing tasks. Excellent communication and IT skills, accuracy and attention to detail are essential requirements.

About EFA

English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English language classes (ESOL) for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 500 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through trainings, research and partnerships.

This role is responsible for providing high-level support, managing complex projects and engaging with a wide variety of people on behalf of the Chief Network Officer. The Role

You will have specific responsibility for:

Oasis South Bristol hub team is now in a position to employ a Community Project Worker to work alongside our Oasis Community Hub team in South Bristol and we are looking for a talented and adaptable person to join our busy team focussed on supporting our academies in Hengrove: Oasis John Williams and Oasis New Oak and the communities they serve.

The role will encompass community support activity as well developing and running school holiday provision. 

Key responsibilities will be:

• To provide enrichment activities to the children’s youth work to include holiday schemes, afterschool and lunch time clubs.
• To develop a strong food poverty programme and offer support for the community through adult education, wellbeing, advocacy/family support and volunteering opportunities.
• To work alongside the Strategic Community Development Leader to develop funding and volunteer capacity which can support the Academies holistically across all of the Hub.
• To engage and work with families supporting them to access Hub services and activities to develop their skills, knowledge and aspirations.

The successful post holder must have:

• Proven experience of community development
• Self-motivation, resilience, with excellent organisational and inter-personal skills.
• Successful experience of working with parents / carers (voluntary or paid work)
• Successful experience of working with children and young people
• Experience working with challenging behaviours and attitudes
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices and health and safety
