Purpose of the People & Culture Assistant role:
To work as part of the People and Culture team to provide a professional, high quality, timely, customer focused HR recruitment/contractual administration/transactional service to key internal stakeholders, job applicants and support closely on people and culture activities especially the Learning and Development workstream.
Key duties and responsibilities of the People & Culture Assistant:
To provide high quality HR administrative support across the full spectrum of the employee lifecycle, including:
· Conducting pre-employment checks for new starters (references, DBS, Right to Work in UK)
· Recruitment administration (writing and posting adverts, shortlisting, arranging interviews)
· Absence management
· Preparation and issue of contractual documentation (including contract variations)
· Payroll updates
· Maternity/Paternity administration
· Administration of performance management and improvement systems (probation, Appraisals, PIP forms)
· Termination of employment (all categories, including writing leaver documentation and conducting Exit Interviews)
· Upkeep of electronically stored personal records
· Conducting regular HR Audit checks to ensure integrity of data is maintained
· Supporting the P+C Manager on all other aspects of HR administration
What we are looking for in our People & Culture Assistant:
· Experience of working in a complex administrative role within HR
· Experience of using HR/Payroll/recruitment ATS online systems
· Good numeracy and literacy skills
· Awareness of employment legislation
· Ability to effectively organise and work to tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and a willingness to contribute to team efficiency through sharing information and supporting others
· Experience of providing informal training/coaching to colleagues in relation to administrative tasks
· Proficient in the use of software packages and Microsoft office software

About EFA
English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English language classes (ESOL) for migrants in London. As the Head of Programmes, you will take on a strategic leadership role, managing the team of Programme Managers and deputising for the CEO when required. You will ensure each programme flourishes while encouraging collaboration across teams and with external partners to meet our ambitious objectives. This is a hybrid role, allowing you to work from home and travel to see our programmes in action nationwide.
Key responsibilities include:
- Line managing senior programme staff, including a dispersed workforce
- Overseeing operational demands and change management
- Financial management - budgeting, forecasting, invoices, embracing fundraising
- Actively promoting equality of opportunity and being a powerful advocate for our cause
- Confident communication and stakeholder engagement across sectors
- Supporting strategic direction and deputising for the CEO when required
You will work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team of 10, and a delivery team of around 40 colleagues.

- Proven success line managing senior programme staff and a dispersed workforce
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and forecasting
- Working with the Impact and Learning Lead to ensure broad and deep understanding and implementation of our Theory of Change and our values, that evaluation and learning are embedded throughout the organisation and that we are known for the quality of our reporting, with all our activities and reporting informed by meaningful data.

We are looking for an experienced youth practitioner to manage our youth team and work within the enact team to develop a range of engaging activities and training opportunities for young people with particular focus on those aged 10 to 19 in the Enfield community.
The Senior Youth and Community Worker needs to be a passionate, enthusiastic and professional. They will lead the youth team to create community-based opportunities for the whole family, in accordance with the ethos and values of Oasis. Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.
You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable. Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential. Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.
