People Team Advisor
Job Role:
We need an exceptional People Team Advisor. We need an exceptional People Advisor. This is a key post in supporting the management and staff of the FEC. The Forces Employment Charity to be effective in their roles and provide the very best quality of provision to our external delivery. The successful candidate will have responsibility and accountability for the full employee support life cycle and will be involved in all areas of the Human Resources function under the direction of Head of People. The post holder will be expected to work as part of the HR team in the provision of a comprehensive HR service. The post holder will be required to work closely with all employees at all levels
This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, hybrid contract reporting to Head of People. The successful candidate will be required to travel to the London office 2 days per week – immediate start date but will wait for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the provision of a high-quality People (HR) service to all stakeholders in all employee life cycle in generalist capacity including resource, employee relations, learning & development, and reward, in accordance with the consistent application of charity policies and procedures and compliance with employment law and best practice.
- Produce employment contracts and variation to contracts in line with authorised management requests.
- Manage and Support onboarding processes with People Administrator.
- Work closely with the People and Payroll Department to ensure workforce information is kept up to date, employment changes are notified, and any problems identified and addressed.
- Issue timely and accurate payroll instructions, to meet payroll deadlines by working with People Team in specific Administrator.
- Manage staff sickness and absence in accordance with the sickness absence management policy, notifying team managers of absence thresholds and advising on Company Sick Pay limitations.
- Manage and support the implementation and monitoring of HR processes including pre-employment checks (right to work), Enhanced DBS vetting and MOD security clearance, employment contracts and variations, starters and leavers, induction, mandatory/other training, probationary period review, performance and development review, maternity/paternity/shared parental leave, flexible working requests and the evaluation of training.
- Provide and Support Administrator in the management information reports relating to HR, for example absence data, annual leave allowances, training compliance etc.
- Work with team managers to ensure all information (e.g., jobs descriptions, working hours and patterns, etc.) is consistent and up to date.
- Support Head of People in the development of HR policies, Rewards/Benefits, and other HR related projects, as requested.
- Input, maintenance, and provision of all HR data held within the HR Management System (PeopleHR) ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
- Maintain the People Team cloud-based e-filing system to ensure documents and information are retained and easy to locate.
- Initiate and co-ordinate progress of all mandatory staff training (in accordance with the training matrix) reporting compliance issues to managers.
- Be prepared to support all HR Administrator activities during periods of absence.
- Working alongside People Administrator and supporting the Head of People and site leadership team driving the delivery of the people agenda across the organization.
- Supporting the management team with ER issues and providing generalist support and advice on a variety of cases
- Playing an active role in forward thinking and fast action responses to the control of absence and retention ensuring contractual KPIs are achieved and maintained.
- Ensuring relevant management training is identified, sourced, and delivered, promoting a culture of learning and development across the organisation.
- Partnering with the other business areas and providing support in HR related activities.
- Participate in the charity’s appraisal scheme and support staff compliance (probation and annual appraisals).
- Be familiar with all charity policies and be prepared to advise/direct staff on compliance as appropriate.
- Ensure Data Protection and GDPR compliance.
- Maintain awareness of the requirements of the Health and Safety Policy and Display Screen Equipment assessments.
- Work to the charity’s quality standards and systems within the context of the ISO 9001 Business Management System.
- Undertake such other duties and responsibilities as are appropriate to this level of post or as directed by Head of Business Support.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Competencies:
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced HR team, providing first level advice on HR policies and procedures, employment law and employee relations issues.
- Be up to date with current employment law.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills, with a good foundation in HR theory.
- The ability to multitask and deal with a range of incoming enquiries – organisation is key to the success of this role.
- Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions.
- Excellent IT skills specifically HR Management Systems and MS Office applications; particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to form and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, colleagues, service users and key stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to positively challenge, influence and coach managers whilst providing a supporting service outcome.
- Self-motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude and determination to ‘get under the skin of problems’ and identify pragmatic solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and varied environment, with experience in adapting to change based on business requirements.
- Able to apply high levels of common sense and logic to often delicate and complicated situations and therefore possess excellent listening and communication skills.

We are seeking a motivated and confident person who can deliver a high-quality professional service, to work on our helpline. Previous experience of working in health, social care or the helpline sector is essential. You need to be a patient, empathetic listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will involve assessing and responding to callers' needs via our telephone and email service providing practical and emotional support and delivering learning sessions about PSP and CBD to health and social care professionals. Ideally, you will have experience working on a helpline or in a health or social care setting.
Ability and willingness to travel within your region is essential. Occasional weekend work may be required. The role covers the following regions: Greater London, Kent, Essex & Surrey.

About the Team:
This position will be based in the WaterAid UK Programme Operations Team within the International Programmes Department (IPD). IPD operates in over 17 countries with approximately 600 staff in total. The Programme Operations Team enables the effective management of the International Programmes Directorate (IPD) through the provision of robust high quality programme management policies, processes, tools, management information and systems.
About the Role:
The primary focus of the role is to support Country Programmes and Regional Teams in both project and programme design. This is primarily by (1) directly supporting the design and set up of specific projects, programmes and proposals, and (2) strengthening capacity of specific staff in project and programme design.
In this role, you will:
Support project (and programme) design and set-up processes
- Lead, facilitate, support and advise on quality project design and project set-up processes, focusing particularly on larger, complex or higher risk projects. These may be individual Country Programme or multi-country/region projects designed at the regional or global level.
- Review and provide feedback on project design outputs to help strengthen their quality. This could include situational analyses, theories of change, results frameworks, monitoring and evaluation plans, risk analyses, narrative proposals and budgets.
- Liaise closely with identified technical and policy specialists during project design and set-up processes to ensure projects are designed to deliver sustainable outcomes and align with Global and Country Programme Strategies, Quality Programme Standards and thematic approaches.
- In specific cases, support Country Programmes in the development/adaptation of their long-term programme plans and linked project portfolios
Strengthen organisational capacity in project design and project set-up
- Build and strengthen capacity in project design across WaterAid (globally), targeting particular staff categories, through training, mentoring, coaching and the development/refreshing of tools and guidance
- Develop engaging training materials and examples.
Strengthen project design and set-up guidance
- Maintain and strengthen the project and programme planning component of WaterAid's Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) core procedures (often referred in our sector as MEL or MEAL) based on internal learning and sector good practice
About You:
- Significant proven experience in designing complex projects under rigorous deadlines and involving multiple stakeholders
- Excellent understanding of project design theories and approaches and their practical application
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with technical programme advisors, fundraisers and finance staff in order to develop sustainable, high quality, suitably resourced projects with clearly defined monitoring and evaluation processes
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and train others in project design and implementation
- Excellent understanding of the project design requirements and approaches of different donors (e.g. GAC, FCDO, USAID)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal skills and networking skills with the ability to collaborate, influence and build alliances internally and externally
- Strong problem identification and problem solving skills
- Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
- Ability to travel up to 12 weeks per year

- Graduate degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in international development

This is an exciting opportunity to use your knowledge of policy development and regulation of the financial sector to tackle climate change and loss of nature, as a member of the Sustainable Finance Unit of the Policy Solutions team in WWF, the world’s leading independent conservation organisation.
As Sustainable Finance Policy Advisor, you will help design creative policy solutions to some of the world’s most difficult and pressing challenges. Your work will influence government, central banks, regulatory authorities and the finance sector itself to respond to climate change and nature loss, and deliver the transition to a net zero economy. You will support policy development to transform the financial sector in the UK and beyond, focusing on government policy and regulation.
This will involve analysing existing and proposed policies for effectiveness and collaborating with colleagues to make the case for action and implementation to key stakeholders on proposed policy changes. You will also maintain oversight of the sustainable finance policy landscape internally and externally and be alert to new developments and policy ideas. Politically aware, you will possess a strong understanding of how policy is influenced, both inside and outside Government as well as how policy and politics interact and how one can be used to influence the other. This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse for victims and their children.
Working with children and young people, the team will focus on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to children who have been the victims of domestic abuse.
