Victim Support is looking for a Deputy Services Director for their North and Midlands Services. This role is home based with regular travel across the regions (Covid dependent).
Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve.
VS is going through an exciting time, transforming our services and supporting victims and witnesses throughout North and Midlands. We are now looking for a Deputy Service Director to join a well-established and committed team to continue to develop and improve our services for Victims and Witnesses.
You will need to have excellent understanding of the impact of crime and the experience of the criminal justice system on victims and witnesses, and a proven track record of successful achievement in delivering services with significant contract values.
Your role will be to support the Services Director in representing VS externally to promote a positive image of the organisation, to lead on income generation in allocated areas, to ensure our teams work to the highest standard, and to promote and monitor our approach to excellence and quality of service.

Promoting advocacy for our service users to ensure that they are involved in the development of the services and their needs are heard and understood.

The Role
This is a busy role managing multiple areas of work:
- Developing and delivering the hospice’s integrated communications strategy.
- Providing marketing support for fundraising and hospice service promotion activities.

The majority of your time will be spent sourcing news and stories from the hospice and transforming them into engaging content, planning and managing print production, liaising with the media and developing digital communications. You will also oversee the management of our substantial supporter database, including leading on the further development of data insight and reporting which will be crucial to our future success.
You’ll work closely with the members of the Income Generation & Communications department and the rest of the organisation to develop and deliver cross-channel marketing campaigns, helping to achieve our £4 million annual fundraising target, raising awareness of the care and support we provide to patients and driving engagement with key stakeholders.

About the role
Central Supporter Engagement Coordinators play a crucial role in stewarding, inspiring, and engaging a diverse range of churches and Christian Aid groups to build on the agency of Christian Aid’s supporters. They are accountable for establishing stronger and more effective relationships and maintaining and increasing supporters’ level of engagement. They undertake a diverse range of stewardship and enquiry management activities, as well as being proactive in equipping and motivating churches, groups and people to pray, act and particularly give, in order to expose the scandal of poverty and to contribute effectively to its eradication. They are accountable for capturing and processing supporter information and providing consistent outstanding customer service and stewardship. The team will be involved in data management and will gain specific expertise in Christian Aid systems. The Central Supporter Engagement team are also accountable for providing excellent office-based help to complement the efforts of regional colleagues, working as one to achieve the strategic objectives of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement department and the wider organisation. You will work closely with regional colleagues across the UK.
About you
You will be used to working in a customer care environment, including handling enquiries and complaints and appropriately dealing with difficult issues, and working with a customer database, including inputting, editing and extracting data. You will be able to dealing with new and existing supporters by telephone and in written communications, and liaise and build relationships with a broad range of people in a friendly, outgoing and positive manner. You will have knowledge of good donor management or customer care.
You will be able to demonstrate appropriate assurance to set manageable expectations and deal positively with supporters whose expectations cannot be met.
