To plan and implement high quality support and advocacy services for women affected by domestic violence who are deemed as being high risk and/or whose abusers are involved with the Drive perpetrator project. To work within a multi-agency framework to ensure the safety of women is prioritised.
➢ To recognise women and children’s individual needs, providing a short to medium term service to meet those needs
➢ To support the empowerment of the service user and facilitate their understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence
➢ To carry out risk assessment and safety planning with women
➢ To promote women’s safety within multi-agency arenas such as MARAC and Drive meetings
➢ To work with women to access services to help keep them and their children safe
➢ To facilitate access to BSWA and its services
➢ To devise and implement appropriate and safe methods of communication with women and children, in agreement with your line manager

Refuge Project Worker with language specialism
To assist the refuge manager in the day-to-day running of the refuge, developing and delivering a front line service offering support, advice and guidance to women and their children living in the refuge.
To produce and regularly review Individual Support Plans (ISP) for each service user, in conjunction with the service user.
• To recognise women and children’s individual needs and refer to specialist agencies where necessary as part of their ISP.
• To identify the needs of women and children leaving BSWA refuge after being offered permanent accommodation.
• To identify and make links with existing projects and community services and to develop joint services where appropriate.
• To ensure the primary needs of residents are met. This includes medical, financial, housing, legal and education rights.
• To organise activities and celebrations in the refuge for women and children which raise self-esteem, bring people together and broaden awareness

Intervention Worker
To deliver intensive work focussed pre-employment and appropriate post-employment holistic
pastoral support and mentoring support to disadvantaged inactive and unemployed women.
To work effectively within and in partnership with other agencies and services to deliver a joined up
service to support women into employment education or training.
To support a woman’s progression using a mix of holistic support, challenge and mentoring
techniques, keeping a focus on achieving sustainable employment and/or training/education at all
times.
To work closely with employer engagement/education and training structures and Employment
Development Workers elsewhere in the network of providers and in general, in order to manage
the transition into employment.

This role is part of our Youth Violence Intervention Programme (YVIP) in Birmingham and will work across three hospital sites – Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE), Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH) and Heartlands Hospital (HH). The role will be based at QE and will visit and take referrals from the other sites on a regular basis. As a Youth Intervention Practitioner based in the A&E departments you will support young people who are experiencing trauma or tragedy and their families. You’ll be part of a team that is fully embedded in the hospital and that is highly valued by clinicians and community partners alike.
To do this well you need to be a people person; passionate about supporting young people, and excited at the prospect of working in a fast-paced and exceptionally busy environment. You’ll need a proven ability to work with high risk, vulnerable young people and an understanding of the impact intense, short term work can have.
You must be a strong communicator: as comfortable building a relationship with a young person as you are liaising with our clinical colleagues. You’ll be keen to keep learning, seizing training opportunities at Redthread and continuously reflecting upon and improving your practice.
During the Covid-19 outbreak, our teams are still working from the hospitals as we are classed as essential workers. You will need to do shifts at the hospital, as well as working some days from home, depending on the needs of the team and the service.

As Team Leader, you will be expected to provide dynamic, effective leadership, providing day-to-day support to frontline Housing First Navigators, supporting them to deliver outstanding housing and social-related outcomes.
