About the role:
This role is a hybrid working role based in the Family Wellbeing Hub of the Children's Social Care Department at Merton Civic Centre.
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+

About the role:
We are excited to be taking the lead in the London Whole Housing Service Partnership (LWHSP) which will address and enhance the pathways of housing support for women experiencing domestic abuse, from removing them from immediate harm, to enabling recovery and resettlement across all levels of need. The LWHSP are seeking to build on our delivery across 11 East and West London boroughs of the Whole Housing Approach (WHA).
The Housing IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will specialise in working with clients for whom housing, and risk of tenancy breakdown is a factor. You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. You will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.
About You:
As a Housing IDVA, you will need to have a degree of flexibility for colocation work across London boroughs; providing support to women who have experienced domestic violence, focusing on individuals with housing or tenancy issues. Working in our fast-paced crisis intervention, advocacy and support service, you’ll ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will have your own caseload of survivors and will focus on working with those aged 18 and over who access our domestic abuse service.
You will bring experience in providing independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women who approach housing advice and assessment for help. Ideally experience in working with housing service providers, and advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies. You will have the ability to develop individual safety and support plans in-line with the clients’ needs and the risks they face.

About the Service
The Solace Advocacy Support Service provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living in the borough. Exciting opportunities has arisen in both our Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest Teams for two Senior IDVAs.
About the Role
In this role, you will lead the IDVA team, representing the team in multiagency meetings, managing a case load of service users needing short-term intervention, conducting risk and needs assessments, and providing safety planning for domestic violence survivors. You will be responsible for line managing other IDVAs, providing supervision and support, and contributing to the wider advocacy team when necessary.
About You
We are looking for highly organised and self-motivated individuals who are passionate about ending gender-based violence. The role requires a commitment to Solace’s feminist approach, you will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on service users and their children, and experience of working with women who have experienced domestic and/or sexual abuse including strong casework management skills. You will also have experience of line managing staff or volunteers and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Master of Research (MRes) in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology (DNP) is a two-year Master’s programme, which is a collaboration between Anna Freud, University College London and The Child Study Centre at Yale University in the USA. The MRes brings together thinking from multiple perspectives, with a particular focus in the role of neuroscience in understanding child psychopathology.
This post provides a forum for the successful candidate to develop skills and experience in teaching and delivery of an innovative and well-established MRes programme. The post-holder will be required to undertake several tasks to support the programme including i. delivery of one module in each term (Terms 1, 2 and 3) related to affective and developmental neuroscience; ii. support with marking and assessment of coursework and theses; iii. Support with student pastoral care.
The post-holder will need to have a relevant PhD and/or child clinical qualification at Master’s level or above e.g. Child Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology with child experience. They will have excellent knowledge of child development across a range of domains, with strong understanding of at least one main theoretical approach. Teaching experience at postgraduate level (or equivalent) is essential.
Location
Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working), the delivery of teaching will be held face to face at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH).

About the Role:
The main responsibilities of the role are outlined below:
- To act as organisational lead for CYP, ensuring effective development and delivery of operational and strategic policy.
- To represent VS externally to influence policy, and work collaboratively with business development and external partners to grow services.
- To progress our CYP strategic priorities to grow our portfolio, improve access and embed procedures, tools and resources to improve the quality of our support.
- To oversee the delivery of our WeMatter online programme for CYP affected by Domestic Abuse and ensure that funding and evaluation requirements are achieved.

- To design and undertake thematic audits to drive improvements.
- To ensure that our systems support staff and volunteers to provide quality support to CYP.
This role is home based but some travel is required across England and Wales to attend meetings, deliver training and undertake audits.
This is a national role, which will lead the implementation and ongoing development of our new case management approach and support framework for CYP services. We are looking for a dynamic individual, with a creative flare who can drive and lead change. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of developing accessible procedures and engaging resources for a range of audiences. You will have sound knowledge of the criminal justice system and the impacts of crime, trauma, and victimisation on children and young people, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to provide high quality and responsive services. You will also have a critical role in helping us to develop external relationships to promote VS services, maximise opportunities for growth and build partnerships to that help us to do even better victims.
