About the role:
This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office in Old Street and in co-location at Northwick Park Hospital. As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims & those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC & local partnership responses to domestic abuse
- Run group training sessions & share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.
You will need:
- an understanding of help-seeking barriers & support needs of victims of domestic abuse
- knowledge of domestic abuse & its impact
- an understanding of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management

London Victim and Witness Service is recruiting for 2 x DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA). These roles are full-time working one-day per week in the office and the other days from home, with regular travel required to visit clients and attend meetings.

The Solace Advocacy and Support Service’s (SASS) provide advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living across London. An exciting opportunity to recruit a new Perinatal IDVA has arisen in this busy domestic abuse team.
About the Role:
The Perinatal IDVA provides a proactive service to survivors of domestic abuse identified as being at high risk of imminent harm. The IDVA will be based in Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) perinatal services (Northwick Hospital) supporting women at increased risk of domestic abuse during pregnancy. As the Perinatal IDVA you will carry out risk and needs assessments, safety and support planning with survivors and advocate on their behalf with external agencies. A key part of this role involves contributing to local processes; providing domestic abuse advice to staff trust wide and action planning alongside other agencies to improve survivor safety.
This role will be based four days a week at the Northwick Hospital, one day working from home and one day per month spent working with your Solace colleagues from the SASS office.
Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse, its impact on service users and their children and of working with people experiencing mental health crisis. You will have experience in crisis risk management and safety planning. Experience working within safeguarding procedures is essential as it needs to promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

This new and exciting role is part of CouRAGEus, a unique pan-London project established to provide specialist advocacy, counselling, resilience and prevention programs for black and minoritised young women and girls (YWG) experiencing gendered violence, mental health and/or multiple disadvantage.
About you
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dynamic individual with an in-depth understanding of the specific needs of minoritised and multiple disadvantaged YWG with experiences of gendered violence. You will have experience of working with YWG’s with high-risk presentations, including self-injury and suicidal risk and adept at providing crises support and more in-depth work that cultivates self-protective factors as well as meaningful interventions and strategies that aim to reduce and mitigate risk.
You will deliver holistic, YWG’s centred, individualised care pathways that are gender informed, trauma focused and aimed at addressing multiple areas of disadvantage including mental health challenges, problematic substance use and homelessness. You will be well versed in advocating on behalf of YWG to multi-agency services to ensure support, protection and choice for the YWG’s you represent. In this role, the Advocate will also develop relationships with local communities and professionals with an aim to raise awareness about sexual violence, improve communities and professionals’ responses as well as to improve access to services for survivors. This work will be carried out through one to one advocacy sessions, workshops, trainings, consultations and other means.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in this busy team for a Young Persons Independent Domestic Violence Adviser. You will support 16 to 25 year olds with crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced advocate to join our dynamic team in Bexley, working with survivors who have experienced domestic violence and abuse. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work. In this role you will work as part of the Bexley Solace Advocacy and Support Service (SASS), providing support to young survivors of domestic abuse in the borough. In addition to this, you will work in partnership with Children Social Care, Education, Health and Mental Health to ensure effective support for survivors coming through these services.
About You
You will need a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.
You will have the skills to provide effective crisis intervention, carry out the children’s risk assessment where appropriate, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. You should have demonstrable experience of working in an IDVA or similar position with this or a similar client group.

The MARAC Administrator will support the MARAC Coordinator in the administering the MARAC process. The post holder will be co-located in Brent and will be required to attend MARAC meetings in various locations as required. There will also be a requirement to attend Advance’s Headoffice
The MARAC Administrator will process MARAC referrals and flag to the MARAC Coordinator any referrals that have insufficient information or may not meet the MARAC threshold. The post holder will also compile the MARAC At Risk List for approval by the MARAC Coordinator, including case details of survivors and perpetrators who will be discussed at the MARAC.
About You:
To be successful as the MARAC Administrator you will need the below experience and skills:

We ensure all staff undertake mandatory safeguarding training relevant to their role and responsibilities, to empower them to be competent and feel confident in recognising and responding appropriately to safeguarding issues and promote wellbeing.
