Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.
The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.
Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation. This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.
The role will also provide crucial executive support to the CEO and SLT of three Directors, to ensure the smooth operation of their responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.
As part of an expanding and ambitious organisation, there are considerable development opportunities for the successful candidate and the ability to help shape the infrastructure of the charity.
About you:
You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support. You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.
You will have significant experience of providing proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and demonstrable experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems. Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.
You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional with well-developed time management skills to manage competing priorities, ensure follow up of actions and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is critical to this role, whilst maintaining strict confidentiality.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with the ESC team and stakeholders to design a programme of inspiring energy and climate themed events in Hastings, Rother, Eastbourne, and Wealden, reaching a total of 1000 residents across the year.

A medium sized health education charity is seeking a Finance Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.
The organisation is an established charity that provides information and guidance on various aspects of veganism. Services range from general advice on vegan lifestyle – diet, travel, shopping etc, campaigning activities, additional services to charity members, and the certification and labelling of products based on their internationally recognised Vegan Trademark.
The organisation has around 65 staff with a turnover of around £4 million annually. Their central offices are in Birmingham, however this role can be taken on almost exclusively remotely – it is anticipated that there will be approximately 6 journeys per year required either to the Birmingham office or another mutually agreeable location – for staff events and meetings.
The role sits within a small finance team of 3, and will be highly varied covering most aspects of transactional finance. The starting salary is between £29,413 - £31,508, however they have regular salary reviews and growth in the role is possible. They also have an excellent benefits package including a pension scheme, employee assistance programme, 28 days leave + bank holidays, plus additional leave available as part of a sustainable transportation climate perks policy.
The ideal candidate will be AAT part-qualified with experience in a similar Finance Officer level role. The Project Officer will support Hamrah’s mission by streamlining and strengthening communication, coordination, and outreach among stakeholders, including the partner cohort, mentors, the board of advisors, team members and wider Afghan civil society. The role demands a proactive approach to keeping lines of communication open, addressing queries and concerns promptly, and identifying opportunities for collaboration. The Project Officer will also play a key role in supporting the effective and smooth implementation of project activities, and in ensuring that stakeholders remain actively engaged. This role requires excellent interpersonal, cultural competency and communication and outreach skills and thrives on teamwork, adaptability, and a keen ability to connect with external partners.
Job Description
Communication, Outreach, and Advocacy
- Streamline internal project communications with the partner cohort and other key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and clarity of messaging.
- Support the design and implementation of communication strategies and advocacy tools, including developing advocacy campaigns and communication materials.
- Work with the partner cohort to identify key advocacy opportunities and relevant forums through which to promote the rights and needs of marginalised communities in Afghanistan.
- Work with partners to engage with policymakers, influencers, and advocacy networks to raise awareness of the project’s advocacy agenda and influence policy direction.
- Create engaging and informative content for various communication channels, such as newsletters and blogs, highlighting the project’s impact and success stories. If needed, manage the project’s social media accounts, including maintaining an up-to-date project website, regularly posting updates, and engaging with the online community.
Information Exchange and Knowledge Sharing
- Take an active part in coordination meetings to foster internal cohesion and build strong relationships with the partner cohort and other external stakeholders.
- Help to facilitate discussions, meetings, and conferences to support knowledge exchange and strategic planning with the partner cohort and other stakeholders.
- Support the smooth running of project events by providing logistical and administrative support, inviting participation, and overseeing the effective dissemination of learning and outcomes.
Capacity Building and Training
- Help to plan and organise capacity-building sessions, specialised workshops, and meetings, to facilitate knowledge exchange and skill development.
- Support the development of training materials that meet the specific needs of our partner cohort and their communities.
- Design and deliver targeted training sessions on communication, outreach, and policy advocacy, enriching the skill sets of our partners.
- Offer expert advice to our partners, sharing best practices and insights on communication strategies, advocacy efforts, and effective reporting.
Person specification
Hamrah comprises a small and dedicated remote team. The person who fills this post should feel comfortable working independently in a remote setting and accepting a high level of responsibility for the project’s success. Candidates with lived experience of any of the issues related to the role are strongly encouraged to apply.
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
Required
- A passion for social impact, with a particular focus on supporting marginalised communities.
- Demonstrated relevant work experience and proven track record of achievement in the field of organisational development and capacity building, preferably in the Global South.
- Proven experience in communication, project coordination and external outreach, ideally within a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Strong cultural competency, interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and with a range of external partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and in Afghanistan’s local languages.
- A “self-starter” able to work independently as well as collaboratively in carrying out responsibilities, with the ability and energy to multi-task and manage a dynamic work environment.
Desirable
- Experience working with Afghan CSOs and a good understanding of their dynamics is highly desirable.
- Proficiencies in Afghanistan’s local languages is highly desirable

Communications and Events Officer £25,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Full time role (37.5 hours) with an initial 6-month fixed term contract continuing subject to funding.
Remote working, with the option for hybrid working (up to two days in the office) in London, Manchester and Cardiff.

Who we are looking for:
A Permanent Customer Relations and Sales Officer to work as part of a centralised sales team, which leads all Autism Know How sales, logistic and customer support enquiries.
Managing all aspects of the customer sales journey, this role will lead and deliver an effective, timely and professional customer journey and experience, maximising income potential and repeat business to ensure performance against team sales targets and to enable the society to continue to improve its offering for autistic people.
This role will work closely with colleagues across Autism Know How, Marketing, CRM and Business Development departments, and other relevant NAS teams where required.
This role will also deliver general administration and data processing as required.

About the role
You’ll co-develop and implement an inclusive bilingual media and communications programme across traditional, digital and social media and maximise our messaging and campaigning impact in Wales through powerful communications.
You’ll build a sustainable team of proactive volunteers affected by Parkinson’s to energise our communications through their personal stories and participation in communications work.
What you’ll do:

Maximise coverage for campaigns and fundraising communications in Wales, and produce creative content, including video

Research and ‘sell’ stories to maximise coverage, involving people affected by Parkinson’s

Conduct media and social media training for staff and volunteers and produce media briefings to support interviews
