We are looking to recruit a HOPELINE247 Manager to enable the delivery of an outstanding suicide prevention helpline, through the effective management of HOPELINE247 advisers, alongside promotion and development of the service.

What you will do:

Provide leadership, guidance, and effective line management to a team of suicide prevention advisers.

Managing staffing and resources effectively to ensure the efficient running of the helpline service.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience of building, developing and managing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the community, voluntary, statutory and political settings

Previous successful experience of working in suicide prevention or mental health

Salary: Salary: £32,460 per annum (Scale point 29) progressing by increments to £35,105 per annum (Scale point 32). As a night shift worker, you will receive an additional allowance of £10 per night shift. This will be paid on a monthly basis along with the salary.

Hours:  33 hours per week

Working arrangements:  This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 07:40am. Shifts will be on a rota bases across a 7-day working week.  33 hours will be based upon working 4 nights shifts per week.

Our services are growing. We are looking for locally based sessional facilitators to support the delivery of our Moving Forward courses across the UK. Our Moving Forward courses are for anyone with a primary breast cancer diagnosis who has finished their hospital-based treatment. Courses are a combination of face to face and online support and are delivered in partnership with local NHS Trusts/Boards. This is offered as a contract for services position and as such the appointed contractor would not be an employee of Breast Cancer Now but a self-employed individual. We require all contractors to adhere to and follow Breast Cancer Now applicable policies and procedures and to undertake some mandatory training in core subjects such as data protection and cyber security. You will be based locally to one of the available locations with a strong background in group facilitation and course delivery. Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point. 

We all have a right to hold public bodies to account. But most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 77% drop in community care legal aid cases since 2010 means we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken. 

What we do 

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it. 
With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers and barristers ensure fair access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded, and we all get the support we need. 

About the role 

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have nearly tripled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. 

We are looking for someone with excellent people skills to play a key role in developing and piloting an approach to support people to engage with and use our on-line Social Care early legal help tool. Initially, this project will be focused on how to support carers who have multiple barriers to accessing the support they and the person they care for need.

We want to pilot a network of Peer Navigators who will act as an interface between the tool and people who are most underserved by social care and advice services and experience intersectionality of barriers. The role would particularly suit someone who has experience of the social care system as a family carer or disabled person and/or someone who has experienced barriers to accessing services due to other protected characteristics. 

The role is new and will initially focus on working within our place-based Hubs of Croydon and Gloucestershire. The role will require a creative person who can work in partnership with other members of the team, people with lived experience of social care support and social care organisations.  They will need to develop a set of policies and procedures for the delivery of the project and recruit, train and supervise the Peer Navigators.

To be a success in this role, you should be an excellent team worker, communicator, proactive, flexible, excellent people skills, highly organised and able to meet deadlines. You should also have a thorough understanding of co-production.

Responsibilities 

• With Hubs manager, Hub team members and people with lived experience – refine the aims of the project and identify priorities 

• Develop and implement a project plan for delivery of the project 

• Develop a role description for the Peer Navigators 

• Identify and test different options for advertising and recruiting Peer Navigators 

• Train Peer Navigators in the Care Act and use of the chatbot 

• Develop guidance on how people can seek advice about their employment and benefit status in relation to fulfilling the role 

• Develop and run an appropriate supervision process to ensure good quality support is offered 

• Arrange further training as chatbot develops 

• Set up and run Peer Navigator team meetings to ensure they feel supported, and we learn from their experiences 

• Devise a monitoring and evaluation framework and set up proformas for peer navigators to capture outcomes

Our Dementia Support service provides an opportunity to reach more people affected by Dementia through Telephone, Face-to-Face and Online support. The Black Country team are well-established, local experts in face-to-face Dementia Support with a range of experience and knowledge to tailor our community-based service to the diverse local population.

About you

You will have:

- A passion for supporting people to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives
- A solid and compassionate understanding of the needs of people affected by dementia
- The ability to work inclusively with people affected by dementia, along with an understanding of the need for client confidentially
- Great communication skills, adapting your approach to ensure understanding at all levels
- Good organisation skills as will be helping to create events across the Black Country.  
- Ability to deliver a presentation to our Carers Information Programmes and other similar groups.  
- Effective networking and influencing skills and the ability to manage several tasks at once and keep yourself motivated to perform under pressure
- Good IT and administrative skills and experience working with databases and virtual meeting software (e.g., MS Teams and Zoom)
- The ability to travel across the Black Country area independently when required

Caseworker Role (OISC Level 1, 2 and 3)

About us

The Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) is an established, multi award winning charity that provides a safe, welcoming environment to thousands of refugees and migrants living in the Black Country and Birmingham.

Our highly skilled and diverse staff team provide a broad range of services including advice and support on immigration (OISC regulated level 1, 2 & 3), employment, welfare, education, ESOL, housing, homelessness, destitution, citizenship, health and wellbeing.

RMC have been assisting beneficiaries to access and sustain appropriate accommodation and improve their housing and living conditions for nearly two decades. RMC also deals with many aspects of homelessness, destitution, rough sleeping, exploitation, etc.

What you will be doing

All Caseworkers (Levels 1,2 and 3) will be required to carry out the tasks shown below. The skill level to progress from one level to the next level is also detailed below.

· To provide professional and effective OISC regulated casework as well as advice, guidance and support to a broad range of RMC’s service users.

· To assist/support the team and the management to meet the needs of the beneficiaries and achieve targets.

· To support and supervise colleagues on a lower level of OISC regulation and designated volunteers.

· To deliver presentations and represent RMC at meetings/events when required by management.

· To take responsibility of projects related to the job

Working within the team

· To ensure the requirements of OISC are respected and met during the delivery of immigration-related advice and casework.

· To assist the senior colleagues and managers in order to drive efficiency, quality, systems improvement and target achievement.

· To supervise and/or manage colleagues on a lower level of OISC-regulation and designated volunteers.

Casework and advice

· To offer advice & casework to service users with various aspects related to their immigration case.

· To deliver the appropriate level of casework either independently or under supervision, depending on the level of OISC registration.

· To provide appropriate support and mentoring to any caseworkers and/or advisors that are under this role’s supervision.

· To maintain confidentiality in all dealings with service users and ensure their needs are met in a satisfactory and sensitive manner.

Other

· To be responsible for the day to day delivery of specific projects if requested by the Senior Management Team–this is flexible and could change depending on the nature of funding.

· To represent RMC at external meetings and events when required by senior colleagues.

· To maintain effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders.

 

 

 

Flexibility
In order to deliver the stated aims of this post, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties will fall within the scope of the job within the appropriate pay grade. We're introducing a vital position within our Patient Support Services Team, focusing on providing targeted money and energy advice to those navigating the financial challenges of living with kidney disease.

In this home-based, full-time position, you'll be a member of a team dedicated to making a tangible difference. The role involves delivering bespoke money and energy guidance—via phone, video calls, and occasionally in-person—to address the unique financial obstacles faced by kidney patients. Your role will encompass everything from offering practical advice and assessing financial needs to connecting patients with broader specialist support networks.

This role demands at least 2 years of experience in advocacy, social work, or a related field within the health and social care sector, with a particular focus on financial and energy support. For those yet to achieve a Level 3 qualification in Money and Energy Advice, we're here to support your professional development in this area. Applications from those with experience of living with CKD in a personal or professional capacity are particularly welcome. The role is a two-year contract initially.
