Key Tasks
• To provide an open access front door for AUKEL advice in our Newham Office during office hours.
• To provide information and advice to older people and their carers on matters of social welfare, housing, health and social care etc
. • To triage and allocate referrals for the advice team ensuring that referrals for case work are appropriate and within the scope of our service.
• To provide information, advice and support to older people and their carers enabling them to access services and remain independent.
• To carry out welfare benefit calculations.
• To maintain accurate case records to Advice Quality Standard and in line with relevant legislation.
• To support all Age UK East London Advice Services to manage demand.
• To maintain a welcoming reception area and ensure all resources and information are up to date
• External representation at meetings with key stakeholders.
General
•To meet regularly with line manager for support, supervision and appraisal.

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join the charity. This is a newly created position reporting to the Head of IT. The aim of this role is to encompass the charity’s Helpdesk (1st through 3rd line support) and IT Technician responsibilities to include new builds and repairs, network and server maintenance, telecoms improvements as well as project support. We are growing our information and support service and looking for two Helpline and Information Coordinators to join our team working 21 hrs per week.
You will be the first point of contact for our telephone helpline, actively listening to callers, assessing their needs and providing high quality information and signposting to Retina UK’s resources including our amazing team of lived experience volunteers who will provide emotional support and guidance as well as coping strategies. At Prostate Cancer UK we are looking for an experienced, dynamic and innovative patient information professional to join our Health Information team. We produce award-winning health information that ensures people with or who are worried about prostate cancer have access to clear, evidence-based, high-quality and impartial resources that can support them throughout their prostate cancer journey.
The team puts the needs of our service users at the heart of its work and it’s more important than ever that we can understand and respond flexibly. We’re also striving for even greater inclusivity and accessibility so that our service meets the needs of the diverse populations we serve.
The charity currently carries the Patient Information Forum’s (PIF) Tick, which commits us to producing all our health information to its standards of quality. We rely on insight from men with lived experience of prostate cancer and healthcare professional expertise to produce high quality information. We also work closely with our clinical nurse specialists and clinical data teams to ensure our information is based on the latest evidence and clinical practices.
As a Health Information officer, you’ll develop new and review existing health information that empowers men to make informed choices about the healthcare they receive. You’ll be part of a team that supports men on every step of the prostate cancer journey; from raising the awareness of men at high risk, to guiding them through the diagnostic pathway and helping them decide on treatment options that are right for them.
You’ll be critical to maintaining the smooth running of production processes across print and digital formats to a dedicated three-year cycle. You’ll also contribute to the ongoing evaluation of our health information resources and service, making sure they’re efficiently and effectively meeting the needs of those affected by prostate cancer.

You’ll know how to critically appraise and communicate complex information to lay audiences in writing and be very familiar with writing digital health information. You’ll understand ways of engaging with service users and healthcare professionals to shape our health information and strive to ensure that you’re inclusive of the diverse prostate cancer population we serve.
With experience in working to tight deadlines, you’ll be able to work with flexibility and partnering with the team to work collaboratively. You’ll be able to demonstrate empathy, working with those who are affected by prostate cancer and understanding and addressing the difficulties they present or experience.

Our client, a leading London university, is looking to appoint a temporary Research Information Management System (RIMS) Developer , to support the development of their RIMS, Pure.
This is a part time role, 1 - 2 days per week, running for 3 months in the first instance. This role would be fully remote.

About the role
The London Library is looking for an Acquisitions and Discovery Assistant to assist in the acquisition and management of Library E-resources and print resources.
The role includes supporting the successful acquisition and seamless delivery of electronic resources to library users, utilising and maintaining relevant library systems and records; assisting purchasing decisions and supporting licensing, ordering and payment processes; verifying access, liaising with suppliers & Library IT, and ensuring correct metadata is presented to users; plus monitoring resource use and collecting data for the evaluation of subscriptions. There is the opportunity to support membership and services, including giving tours to prospective members.
In addition to assisting with the administration of E-books, the role requires processes associated with the management of the print journal collection, including serials and donated materials, such as checking in new issues and ensuring publications are shelved correctly, applying stamps, recording invoices, recording changes in publishers' information and preparing completed volumes of serial parts for binding and checking.
There is potential to grow and develop the role, which will join our busy Acquisitions and Discovery team and assisting with administrative tasks associated with cataloguing along with supporting the Library’s internal Digitisation processes as required.
About you
Flexible and adaptable, with an ability to get on with a wide variety of people, even under pressure, you will have proven experience of working in a Library environment and of basic clerical/administrative routines.
You will have exceptional organisation and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and courteously, with a methodical approach to tasks, including physical duties such as shelving.
Most importantly, you will have a passion for your work, literature, reading and writing, and the work of The London Library; to inspire new ideas that create a unique impact on the UK’s literary and artistic output.

Role Overview:
The purpose of the Executive Director roles within Depaul is to ensure that the organisation’s vision, mission and values are delivered through a strategic, shared approach by the Trustee Board, Executive Team and wider workforce.
As the appointed candidate, you will manage the Finance and IT departments and provide strategic and operational management of financial and budgetary processes, ensuring sound, prudent, financial management in compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, underpinned by relevant policies and procedures.
You will provide support for income generation, and other service activity, to secure financial sustainability.
You will also report to the CEO and manager a team of 10 people - currently 8 FTE in Finance and 2 FTE in IT, including 2 direct reports – Financial Controller and Head of IT & Systems.
As part of responsibilities, you be attend meetings of the Council of Trustees, the Trustees’ Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARC) and the Depaul Housing Services Board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a financial service to Depaul UK that meets regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Ensure robust systems and processes for financial planning, analysis and reporting.
- Preparation of the annual statutory accounts and corporate reports to Depaul International, owning an effective relationship with external auditors.
- Support and guide budget holders and senior managers in their financial management responsibilities and produce the annual budget and periodic reforecasting.
- Provide strategic oversight, and monitoring, of the corporate risk register reporting to the CEO and Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
- Support ICT systems development ensuring that all ICT is strategically planned and fit for purpose, delivering cost savings and efficiency wherever possible.

What We Are Looking For – Person Specification:
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA), with post-qualification experience in senior financial management positions and a track record of producing financial strategy, planning, reporting, monitoring and budgeting.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of UK financial regulations, including Charity SORP and its application
- An excellent people manager, with demonstrable experience of leading and driving change programs
- Experience of working in a senior leadership/executive team
