We are looking for a Chief Officer who will be responsible for the day to day running of the charity as well as working with the Trustees to take the organisation forwards.  The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, will have skills in finance, management and IT, and will enjoy working in a busy environment where there are changing demands and priorities throughout the day.

At Oak Tree Farm we are committed to providing a high quality, supportive environment where adults with learning disabilities, our Team Members, are the centre of everything we do.  The farm has livestock, growing fields, greenhouses, polytunnels and a tearoom as well as craft rooms, a cottage garden, pottery and shop. Our Team Members are involved in every aspect of life on the farm and the farm is firmly embedded in the local community with Team Members providing gardening services to local people as well as volunteering on the Sandon Estate.

Key Tasks

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all high value fundraising activity, including proposals, applications, and donor interactions, and be able to regularly report this activity back to the Head of Philanthropy.

• Manage a portfolio of low-mid level prospects and existing donors, developing clear strategies to cultivate relationships and secure continued philanthropic support of £1,000 to £10,000. Ensure all donors in the assigned portfolio are provided stewardship and take responsibility for contacts and annual work plan.

• Develop and deliver a programme of cultivation, stewardship and recognition low-mid level donors and prospects, proactively seeking opportunities to improve the chances of securing repeat gifts through bespoke communications and consistent stewardship.

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and wider High Value Team with stewardship and cultivation of donors and key contacts. These activities may include virtual events, stewardship events, proposal development, annual reporting, and direct marketing appeals.

• Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system for all existing and prospective donors within High Value Giving liaising with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure reconciliation with financial record.

• Work closely with the Philanthropy team and other colleagues to maximise all opportunities and support a dynamic, successful, and professional team

• Ensure that data security is maintained and that legal and regulatory requirements are fully complied with.

• Undertake other tasks, when necessary, to achieve the team’s and the organisation’s overall objectives.

 General

• Managing a complex workload with competing demands and deadlines. The role holder will agree objectives and overall priorities with the Head of Philanthropy but is expected to manage unexpected/unplanned work within overall timeframes.

• The post holder is required to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues within the Fundraising Team to ensure the successful delivery of fundraising activities.

• The post holder will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will need to communicate effectively and sensitively, building strong relationships with existing and potential donors.

Experience

We are seeking a Finance Officer with a keen eye for detail, and an aptitude for learning new skills, to take on purchase ledger and payroll administration duties in our Finance Department.   You will have either begun on the path of attaining a financial qualification or had some experience in a similar role.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all purchases, payments and returns, including supplier invoices, staff payments (salaries, expenses and advances), project and contractor payments and credit card transactions.  Responsible for project reporting against budget.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• Ownership of the purchase ledger system, administering the entire process of invoice receiving, checking, coding, distributing for approval, posting to the accounts software (currently Sage), setting up domestic and international payments for authorisation, and electronic filing of documents.
• Administering all credit card returns including distribution of statements to colleagues, checking and coding returns, collating documents, submitting for line-manager approval, posting to Sage and following up on outstanding items.
• Administering staff and contractors expense claims, advances, returns and funds transfer requests, including checking and coding, submitting for budget-holder approval, arranging payment both domestic and international, and electronic filing of documents.
• Recording project expenditure against budget and drafting project financial returns to meet funder deadlines.

• Either started on a financial qualification or have had experience in a similar role
• Exposure to SAGE Line50 or other accounting package.
• Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

At Prostate Cancer UK we are looking for an experienced, dynamic and innovative patient information professional to join our Health Information team. We produce award-winning health information that ensures people with or who are worried about prostate cancer have access to clear, evidence-based, high-quality and impartial resources that can support them throughout their prostate cancer journey.

The team puts the needs of our service users at the heart of its work and it’s more important than ever that we can understand and respond flexibly. We’re also striving for even greater inclusivity and accessibility so that our service meets the needs of the diverse populations we serve.

The charity currently carries the Patient Information Forum’s (PIF) Tick, which commits us to producing all our health information to its standards of quality. We rely on insight from men with lived experience of prostate cancer and healthcare professional expertise to produce high quality information. We also work closely with our clinical nurse specialists and clinical data teams to ensure our information is based on the latest evidence and clinical practices.

As a Health Information officer, you’ll develop new and review existing health information that empowers men to make informed choices about the healthcare they receive. You’ll be part of a team that supports men on every step of the prostate cancer journey; from raising the awareness of men at high risk, to guiding them through the diagnostic pathway and helping them decide on treatment options that are right for them.

You’ll be critical to maintaining the smooth running of production processes across print and digital formats to a dedicated three-year cycle. You’ll also contribute to the ongoing evaluation of our health information resources and service, making sure they’re efficiently and effectively meeting the needs of those affected by prostate cancer.

 Main purpose of post

• Meet with or provide digital or telephone support to people using the service (patients/clients, carers, relatives, professionals), providing high quality information and support within defined level of competence in relation to cancer.  This will include assessment of service users’ information and support needs (Holistic Needs Assessment/Cancer Care Review), provision of written or verbal information, supportive listening and action planning to facilitate self-management. 

• Provide care coordination around the individual to ensure their experience of support feels seamless and is transparent, including support from partner agencies.

• Work proactively with primary and secondary care and voluntary sector partners to promote Weston Park Cancer Charity and build awareness of the support available for people living with and beyond cancer.

• Contribute to coordination of the day-to-day running of Cancer Support services, including the activity of junior staff and volunteers.

What you do  

Delivery of information and support to people living with and beyond cancer and their families

• Provide information and support within level of competence of the post (Macmillan Levels of Intervention Criteria L1,2,3,4; NICE approved four tier model of psychological support Level 1,2 & 3).

• This will include:

• Assess the needs of individuals attending / contacting the service and identify the required level of intervention.

• Support users sensitively to help them understand clinical information they have been given (e.g. around diagnosis, treatment, effects of the illness and treatment, cancer terminology), helping to resolve situations where users feel they have been given conflicting information. This will include addressing concerns and queries and working to resolve them and the ability to recognise and work within the limits of own competence and responsibility is crucial, referring issues beyond these limits to relevant people. 

• Understand that there will be frequent exposure to distressing/ highly distressing situations and deal with difficult and highly emotive situations in a sensitive manner and base decisions on own professional judgement

• Deal with service users with complex enquiries or support needs, or who need help in accessing or understanding information, referring to appropriate members of the wider clinical team (CNS, oncologist) when appropriate or signpost them to other supportive services

• Liaise with clinical staff to support patients and carers in distress

• Demonstrate a high level of skill acquired through relevant training or equivalent experience whilst demonstrating awareness of the limits of own practice and knowledge and when to seek appropriate support/ advice

• Provide supporting information around topics such as reducing the risk of cancer, healthy living, diagnosis, treatment options, side effects and living with cancer, in the most appropriate format (e.g. written, verbal, and others as appropriate to overcome any barriers to communication).

• Provide advice on a range of issues e.g. benefits, travel insurance, and facilitate access to services e.g. specialist benefits advice, complementary therapy.

• Liaise with relevant staff at all levels as appropriate both within the charity and externally to address issues identified, and seek advice with more complex issues, directly involving others where necessary, e.g. Senior Cancer Support Advisor, Cancer Support Manager; Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS). 

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective relationships with partner organisations in primary and secondary and the voluntary the sector via networking, also giving talks and presenting at relevant groups. 

• Plan and deliver ‘pop up’ information clinics, ensuring these ‘pop up’ clinics are evaluated.

• Lead the development and to delivery of courses and workshops.

• Lead peer support groups and service-user involvement. 

Operational Delivery  

• Collect and collate data regarding contacts with people who use the service both in person and by telephone and produce reports of activity as required.

• Plan and organise events and displays externally liaising with departments and agencies as required.

• Lead discrete projects or service improvements under direction of the Head of Cancer Support Services

• Work flexibly in order to deliver the objectives of the cancer support service, including attending events and outreach sessions across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Bassetlaw.

• Work with communications team to provide clinical input in to in the development of leaflets, posters and other materials, e.g. To publicise the service, recruit volunteers, support cancer awareness and other events.

• Ensure service user participation in development of the service, including facilitating forums and meetings.

• Facilitate open and effective communication with multi-professional teams, both internally and externally.

Management and Leadership

• Contribute to co-ordination of the day to day running of cancer support services, providing line management to junior staff.

• Provide supervision of and advice to junior colleagues on complex clinical and operational matters.

• Mentor junior colleagues to support development of knowledge and confidence.  

• Work with HR to recruit and train volunteers, organise the volunteer rota, allocate work to volunteers, supervise day to day activities in services which utilise volunteer support. 

• Adhere to policies and protocols relevant to the post, contributing to their updating and development as appropriate. 

• Maintain systems and processes to promote a healthy, safe and secure working environment and maintain accurate documentation and report any concerns.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the service, identifying areas for change / improvement and suggesting new approaches and leading implementation of changes in practice identified through other routes e.g., annual service review or user feedback.

• Act as a role model by demonstrating expertise and maintaining credibility, ensuring a positive image of Weston Park Cancer Charity is maintained.

You will be committed to providing up-to-date information and advice to older people and their carers in outreach locations, via telephone, online and face to face. • Keep up to date on relevant changes in the law, policies, and procedures, both locally and nationally, as they apply to and affect older people and their carers.
• To provide and maintain statistical information and case records in line with data protection regulations.
• Contribute to the maintenance of local information systems.
• To work as part of a team with other advice staff and volunteers.
• To liaise with outside agencies including Social Services and Department for Works and Pensions on behalf of clients, and for the purpose of establishing close working links.
• To make home / outreach visits as necessary
• To assist with the training and supervision of the advice volunteers.
• Promote the service to local partners and those over 50.

As Finance and IT Director, you'll lead the optimisation of our finance and IT systems to streamline recording and reporting of financial transactions. Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll play a strategic role in long-term financial planning, fostering collaboration across the War Child Alliance. Together with fellow leaders, you'll steward the wider organisation, ensuring War Child UK is ready for success and equipped with ambitious financial investment frameworks.

Success in this role also entails ensuring our IT systems maintain the highest standards of excellence, delivering accurate and timely financial performance insights. You'll contribute to a vision where War Child UK achieves extraordinary results within a financially sound Alliance, empowering members to maximise their impact while being accountable for every penny raised.

You will be a qualified accountant with exceptional strategic and operational experience. You do not necessarily need to have prior international development experience, although you will need to demonstrate that you can build effective working relationships with overseas counterparts. You'll lead the scheduling and coordination of the statutory annual review process and be responsible for planning, organising, minuting and drafting all annual review paperwork. We are looking for a collaborative and engaging lead to work in our Business and Investor Engagement (B&IE) team to grow and build relationships with the UK food sector. This role will oversee the charity’s engagement with the business community, with a particular focus on the Out of Home and manufacturing sectors. This involves having strategic oversight of and managing relationships with businesses across the UK food system and positioning ourselves as insight-led critical friends. 

The B&IE team engages major food businesses on actions they can take to shift the UK towards more healthy and sustainable diets in order to tackle food system issues such as climate change, nature loss, diet related disease and dietary inequalities. We provide insight and analysis underpinned by our Plating Up Progress benchmark to support and hold businesses to account in increasing sales of healthier and more sustainable foods and in shifting towards more responsible business practices.

The business engagement lead will work closely with the Senior Business and Investor engagement manager to build and develop relationships with the Out of Home and manufacturing sectors, oversee the Food Foundation’s role in an exciting new partnership with a major broadcaster in support of more plant rich diets, oversee the delivery of our flagship report – The State of the Nation’s Food Industry (SOFI) - and collaborate with civil society partners also working in this space. Previous line management experience is desirable but not essential. 

This role would be well suited to a registered nutritionist or sustainable food systems expert with experience of working in or with industry and looking to make the move into the charity sector.

Role Summary:

The Teacher Development Trust are seeking an energetic, curious and highly organised Marketing & Recruitment Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for education and the important work of teachers and schools. They will  play a pivotal role in increasing our reach and impact by promoting our offers to schools, trusts and other education sector organisations, generating leads and supporting school engagement by executing effective marketing strategies.

Particular to the Marketing and Recruitment Officer, guided by  by the School Engagement Manager:

• To contribute to the creation of strategic marketing plans to promote Teacher Development Trust's services.  Helping to shape activity to provide a better understanding of the efficacy and reach of our products and services and ensuring that information and data are shared effectively across the organisation.

• To utilise various marketing channels including digital platforms, social media, website and traditional marketing methods including email and newsletters, to reach target audiences.  You will collaborate with the team to create and distribute compelling content, promotional materials and campaigns.

• To stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and emerging opportunities and share this information as appropriate across the organisation to put TDT in the best position to respond in the advancement of our charitable aims and objectives.

• To support the planning and organisation of events such as workshops, webinars and conferences to showcase Teacher Development Trust's offerings and coordinate TDT presence at external events.  This will include representing the organisation at events to network and promote our services.

• To work closely with the internal teams, including the content development and participant experience teams, to ensure seamless service delivery, satisfaction, retention and brand loyalty.  You will also collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to explore potential synergies and business opportunities.

• To support the wider interaction between the organisation and the sector, in particular supporting carefully planned and considered marketing and communications activity as well as responding to emerging news stories and other agendas.  Where appropriate this may include working with journalists and other key sector influencers.

Experience, qualities and skills:

• Proven experience in marketing roles either within the education sector or elsewhere.

• Knowledge of the current educational landscape, including an understanding of professional development or a genuine interest in developing that knowledge.

• An active interest in continuously developing both generalist and technical marketing expertise.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present information clearly, striking the correct tone with a range of internal and external audiences.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent problem solving skills and the initiative to continuously improve.

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

• Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (Salesforce, Mailchimp, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Asana, Divi, Wordpress)  would be an advantage but not essential - the appetite to learn is essential.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• A strong commitment to education, the non-profit sector and improving educational outcomes for children and young people.

GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.

This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. It will involve working with the leadership team and all departments but also the board and their support committees, the ambassadors, and presidents as well as the wonderful team of volunteers across England and Wales.

A great deal has been done to prepare the organisation for such an important time and so now there is a real opportunity for this role to lead in being a figurehead for the charity and representing all that is achieved at GFS in national events and discussions, to best represent the girls of today.
