Job description

Job description

City in the Community (CITC) currently have an exciting opening for an Insights Analyst to join our team on an initial 12 month fixed-term basis. Established in 1986, CITC is the registered charity of Manchester City FC and uses the brand of the parent Club to deliver award-winning programmes centred around Health, Education and Inclusion. The projects engage and impact over 30,000 lives in Manchester annually.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Insights Manager and wider team by maintaining and monitoring all CITC’s project delivery by supporting and overseeing key processes that contribute towards the charity’s MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) framework.

Accountabilities include:

  • Conducting, overseeing and guiding data collection efforts, including baseline, mid-intervention and post-intervention studies for each CITC programme to ensure MEL processes allow for maximum delivery programme efficacy.

  • Conducting regular statistical analysis of data sets to indicate correlations and treatment effects within output, outcome and participant characteristic information for both accountability related reporting and internal learning functions

  • Scaling up, refining and systematising CITC monitoring systems to allow more efficient tracking of program results to inform reflection processes

  • Supporting with quantitative and qualitative evaluation design to evidence the impact of CITC activities by providing guidance, reviewing existing research literature, developing data collection tools and gathering data in the field

  • Preparing regular monitoring reports and synthesising data at venue or programme level on demand for quality assurance processes, documentation of results and advising of necessary adjustments

  • Contributing to the development of the Theory of Change, MEL framework, data storage infrastructure and data collection plans in order to finalise processes that are efficient and appropriate for CITC

  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that MEL practise both satisfies funder needs and generates meaningful learning for CITC programmes

Scope of Job

The Insights Analyst role is an integral one for CITC, providing support to the Insights Manager and wider team. It's crucial that applicants have a relevant higher-level degree, statistical skills and preferably, experience of using analysis packages.

Communication is key in this role, so a friendly, open manner is essential due to the varied stakeholders that the role is in contact with. Experience of report writing is essential and some practical experience of employing qualitative research methods of data gathering would be beneficial.

Self-managing deadlines will be very important as there are often conflicting high-priority pieces of work all happening at the same time.

We’d be especially keen to hear from you if you have experience or knowledge of the charitable/voluntary sector along with proven ability of analysing quantitative and qualitative data.

Closing Date: 28th February 2019
