This key role presents an excellent opportunity to see projects through from conception to completion and to play a part in shaping how we work and what we do. You will have responsibility for day-to-day operation of UCISA, including technical Infrastructure and systems used to deliver UCISA’s services to our members. You will deputise on operational matters for the CEO and represent and advocate for UCISA alongside other management team colleagues.
You will be reporting directly to and working closely with UCISA’s CEO and have opportunities to develop your own skills in running an organisation in an innovative and agile way. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our operations run smoothly and that people are productive.
The role sits within the Management Team and the post holder will deputise for the CEO alongside management colleagues.
Summary of key Terms and Conditions
Contract: Permanent Full time, Oxford based, hybrid
Hours per week: 37.5, Monday-Friday with some flexibility to support UCISA events and participate in team days
Salary: £55,000-£65,000 per year (depending on candidate experience and skill set)

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps of Lebanon.
The Head of Institutional Funding role is based in the Programmes Team, line managing the IF team and close cooperation with programme funding colleagues in Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon. The role has a broad remit covering developing and formalising framework agreements, programme design, proposal development and reports (narrative and financial), scoping and relationship development with relevant institutional donors. The role will also focus on prospect research and development. The role is based in London, with strong relationships to our projects and partners in Lebanon, the West Bank and Gaza.
Duties and key rsponsibilities
1. Lead the development and delivery of and institutional funding strategy which meets the needs of MAP to meet increasing need and grow sustainably.
2. Identify and develop relationships with a portfolio of institutional donors such as UN agencies, FCDO, SIDA, Irish Aid etc.
3. Lead the development of compelling project and programme proposals and budgets for MAP’s programmes in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon, working closely with programme teams.
4. Ensure that MAP meets all the contractual, compliance and reporting requirements of institutional funded programmes.
Institutional donor portfolio and pipeline development
1. Research and identify institutional donors who align with MAP’s programme funding priorities.
2. Lead the development of an institutional funding strategy which meets MAP’s programme ambitions and will support sustained growth and impact.
3. Lead the delivery of the institutional funding strategy including donor engagement plans, pipeline management, and compliance.
4. Lead the stewardship and relationship management of institutional donors
5. Develop and manage an institutional funding pipeline working closely with programme and fundraising colleagues
6. Monitors trends in institutional donor funding in the Middle East and MAP programme priority areas
Business development
1. Lead the development of proposals (including theory of change, logical frameworks etc. as required) and budgets to Institutional donors drawing on programme plans and in close collaboration with programme colleagues, senior management and finance.
2. Identify and propose funding and collaboration/consortiums opportunities which match MAP programme plans and ambitions
3. Scope and lead on the development of framework agreements with institutional donors, such as registering with the DEC, registering under 503 (c) for USAID grants and FPA with the European Commission.
Grants management
1. Ensure agreements, contract negotiations and compliance, including liaison with colleagues to ensure due diligence requirements are fulfilled prior to contracts being signed.
2. Ensure MAP manages all grants in line with contractual obligations throughout the project cycle
3. Provide training and advice to programme teams to ensure excellence in grants management for all institutional funded projects
4. Ensure communication with institutional donors is timely and relevant
5. Problem solve and trouble shoot where issues and challenges arise with grant management.
General Management

1. Significant experience of securing grants from a range of institutional donors, including grants specific to emergency response, relief and rehabilitation projects and liaising with donors such as DEC and ECHO.

Purpose of the job:

The Grants Manager will join ClientEarth’s Grants Management Team and play a leading role in securing grant renewals and managing income from trusts, foundations and other statutory and institutional funders.
Our Development Department is responsible for raising funds to enable the organisation to deliver its mission. Job description
King’s Global Health Partnerships (KGHP) aims to improve health outcomes in five African countries– Sierra Leone, Somaliland, Zambia, DR Congo and Gambia – working with local partners and drawing on the skills of volunteers from the NHS and King’s College London. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the development and management of finance systems for an innovative and impactful health systems strengthening programme.
This role will be based within Kings Finance Team and will oversee financial management of KGHP’s restricted and unrestricted funds, leading on financial planning, budgeting and donor compliance across our programmes. You will support Partnerships staff, providing hands-on support as necessary to ensure that internal controls and financial management processes are in place, in order to meet financial, contractual, statutory and legal responsibilities.
The appointee will lead on the development of KGHP’s financial systems and reporting in line with developments from KCL's finance team. You will be able to deliver change in processes by building effective relationships with the Finance team and KGHP staff in London and in Africa, as well as building relationships with teams across King’s College London, ensuring coherence and consistency of approach and compliance with financial policies and processes.
This post will be offered on an a fixed term contract until 31st July 2025.
This is a part-time post - 80% full time equivalent.
Key responsibilities
Financial management, compliance and control
- Manage flows of funding to in-country programmes and partners, including forecast-based transfers and reconciliation
- Support the management of in-country finance staff
- Ensure project-specific financial record keeping; review partner financial reports, proactively raising issues with the project budget holder
- Oversee all international grants and contracts and ensure the timely submission of accurate financial grant reporting, including analysis of exchange rate gains and losses
- Lead and manage external audits, ensuring that recommendations arising from external audits are effectively addressed
- Support capacity building programmes workshops for local partners in Africa, enabling them to effectively implement and monitor statutory and institutional grants
- Work with wider finance teams to ensure income and expenditure is aligned to KCL's wider aims and ambitions
Budget development and oversight
- Work closely with programmes teams to develop proposal and programme budgets which ensure cost recovery and sustainable growth, ensuring appropriate rigour and accuracy. Ensure that match funding requirements for grants are strictly monitored
- Work closely with budget holders to ensure they have good working knowledge of their budgets, conducting regular meetings to understand and explain variances
- Maintain full oversight of KGHP’s finances, ensuring that unrestricted and restricted income and expenditure remains in line with approved budgets
- Provide monthly and quarterly reports and analysis to the KGHP Head of Programs and Senior Management Team to keep them informed of KGHP’s financial position and areas of risk
- Produce an annual statement of accounts for KGHP
Financial processes and systems development
- Improve and maintain systems for financial records, reporting and financial controls in accordance with auditing standards and accounting principles
- Train and develop Partnerships Finance staff overseas and in London in financial oversight and business management; ensure thorough inductions to finance systems for new Partnerships staff
- Ensure that guidance on reporting, budgeting and compliance to internal budget holders and other relevant staff members is clear and well communicated
- Develop and implement an approach to full cost recovery, cost attribution/allocation; reserves policy and management plan; and resource allocation policy, including policy on the application of unrestricted funds

About the Institutional Funding Team
Our seven-member team leads all aspects of pre-award project management, from opportunity prospecting through to contract signature. We already have a strong track-record delivering annual seven-figure income targets. We now plan to triple our income in the coming years, working with stakeholders including the governments of the United States, Germany, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, and the European Union, as well as the Global Environment Facility, the United Nations and development finance institutions such as the African and Asian Development Banks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Rapidly develop a working knowledge of CDP’s work, liaising with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for donors.

Part 1: Role Purpose:
The Head of Program position, reporting to the Country Director in Afghanistan, is responsible for leading a diverse programme portfolio across multiple provinces and partners in Afghanistan. The primary objectives of this role are to secure additional resources to support our work across the country and lead the design and implementation of Street Child’s programme in Afghanistan. Specifically, the postholder will lead the programmes team (including food security, child protection and education project managers and localisation advisor); lead our partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders; drive our resource mobilization; ensure effective programme implementation; provide strategic technical expertise in Education programming; and provide capacity building to staff and partners as required. Additionally, the Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for external liaison with national and international partners, government officials, and donor community, deputising for the Country Director as required. Ideally, the Senior Programme Manager will have technical expertise in education programming and/or child protection.
Part 2: Key Responsibilities:
(40%) Programme Management and Coordination:
- Provide matrix management oversight for the successful delivery of projects; including technical input, activity planning and day-to-day liaison with the team and implementing partners to ensure quality implementation within timeframe and budget.
- Provide technical support in areas of own expertise (ideally education programming), including programme development, quality assurance, technical backstopping, and capacity strengthening and coaching for education team and partner staff.
- Lead on the delivery of consortia programmes that CIC are part of.
- Coordinate the identification of partner capacity development needs and the provision of targeted support.
- Ensure all donor, internal and external reporting requirements are met in a timely manner, and are in compliance with donor requirements of project/ program allocation.
- Ensure comprehensive and professional M&E practices are in place.
- Ensure project reviews and the financial health of all projects by supervising expenditures within each project monthly and ensuring that well-structured corrective action is initiated and tracked where required.
- Maintain regular links with the operational teams to facilitate the provision of logistic, administrative and security support to facilitate program implementation.
- Establish meaningful working relationships with projects stakeholders and represent CIC at Education Cluster, ACBAR, Ministry of Education, UN agencies, and other international organizations working in education sector.
(40%) Programme Development and Resource Mobilization:
- Provide context analysis on the humanitarian/development context in the country.
- In close coordination with the Regional Representative and Country Director, identify and analyse new funding opportunities in Afghanistan in which Street Child can add value to the humanitarian and development response.
- Develop, implement, and review sector strategies and support the Country Director in identifying strategic opportunities for strengthening Street Child’s work in the country.
- Articulate strategic approaches, partnerships, management/ staffing plans, M&E and budgets.
- Cultivate partnerships, establish links and closely coordinate with relevant government stakeholders, UN agencies, INGO’s, L/NNGO’s, clusters, donors for programme development, including opportunities for consortia.
- Lead the project proposal development (budget, log frame, theory of change etc.) within the framework of the country and global strategy, with support from the programme teams.
- Support Country Director in formalizing a country strategy that aligns with global/regional strategies, priorities and programmes.
(20%) Leadership and Staff Management:
- Managing programme staff including field staff and ensuring direct reports have clear and realistic performance-based management goals
- Ensure that Street Child programme teams comply to Street Child’s security and other relevant operational, financial, logistics, admin, HR, safeguarding, and code of conduct regulations.
- Ensure that any risk to Street Child programming, projects or staff is communicated as soon as possible to and understood by the Country Director.
- Deputise for the Country Director as required.

This role would sit on the Resourcing Leadership Team - a team responsible for ensuring the performance of our Global Resourcing Strategy with representatives from each Hub.
We are looking for someone with a background in either trusts & foundations, bilateral, multilateral or programme funding. The successful candidate will work with a network of Resource Mobilisation staff around the world to help us achieve the ambitious target and objectives in our Global Resourcing Strategy; raising £36 million for Restless Development’s work over the next 3 years, whilst also ensuring that more resources are channeled to youth civil society organisations and grassroots youth movements in the Global South so that they are able to drive change in their communities.
The role will be based in the UK, with responsibility for raising funds for the global agency, primarily from UK and European institutional donors.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting and donor cultivation:
- Identify, prospect and cultivate funding leads; working closely with Directors and their teams.
- Develop capacity statements and other fundraising resources which outline our expertise across the agency to support donor cultivation.
- Provide high-quality relationship and grant management to existing donors.
- Pitch and promote our work externally, particularly within Northern Europe.
Development of high-quality concepts, offers and proposals to institutional donors:
- Lead on the development of concepts, offers and proposals which showcase the expertise of the agency and are co-created with young people and youth civil society organisations where possible.
- Support with progressing priority global strategy leads and developing concepts and proposals as required.
Successfully implementing strategy:
- Lead on the successful delivery of Restless Development’s fundraising plan and objectives.
- Work to achieve the ambitions, objectives and targets outlined in the Global Resourcing Strategy.
Reporting & Analysis of Programme Funding Performance:
- Development, monitoring, and management of the global funding pipeline and the master reporting database.
- Provide quarterly reporting information and analysis for the global agency.
Collaboration and coordination across the agency:
- Work closely with the Head of Resource Mobilisation, Senior Partnerships Manager (USA), and Regional Resource Mobilisation Managers (Africa and Asia).
- Attend bi-weekly calls with Resourcing staff across the agency to promote a coordinated approach to resource mobilisation and collaboration.
- Provide support to other Resourcing Managers as and where necessary.
- Facilitate learning and sharing across Hubs and Regional Managers to support successful fundraising for the global agency.
- Train Hub based staff teams on relevant resource mobilisation topics.

- Occasional international travel may be part of this role, for donor / partnership meetings, programme visits and accompanying donor visits.

Skills and experience
Essential
- Recent experience in institutional fundraising, with proven expertise of at least one bilateral donor, large Trusts & Foundations, and UN agencies.
- A successful track record in initiating, cultivating and securing funds from institutional donor agencies (bilateral / multilateral & T&F).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and finalise large scale strategic funding proposals and reports; co-ordinating input from a variety of sources working to tight deadlines.
- Proven experience of remote relationship management.
- Capacity building, training or coaching of others in the area of fundraising.
- An excellent understanding of project cycle management.
- Strong knowledge of current and future development and funding trends.
- Experience in implementing fundraising strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective networking skills.
- Strong database and data management skills to record and track progress against agency targets

- Experience in the international development sector.

- In-country fundraising experience (preferably northern Europe or USA).

Role purpose
The MEAL Coordinator will travel with the emergency response team to deliver emergency shelter responses, to enhance programme quality and embed a culture of organisational learning and accountability. Sitting within the Programme Quality team, the MEAL Coordinator will play a significant role to strengthen participant voice and accountability, enable data driven decision making and help to identify best practice and innovative shelter solutions allowing people to recover and rebuild their lives.
The MEAL Coordinator will lead/support key processes that enhance programme/project delivery. They liaise with programme managers/emergency coordinators and partner organisations to provide technical support and ensure programmes/projects adhere to agreed processes, namely needs assessments, log frame development, robust and transparent community feedback mechanisms and the development of the MEAL plan. They will also provide technical input on data collection exercises, data analysis for routine monitoring exercises as well as designing/coordinating review /evaluation processes.
The MEAL Coordinator will play an important role in promoting organisational learning and embedding a culture of reflection, analysis, and learning. Working together with Programme Managers & Emergency field coordinators, they will ensure learning frameworks are in place so that lessons are learned (both positive and negative) are captured, responded to, and shared with peers. They will work closely with the Programme Delivery Team and Technical Specialists to identify and/or support the establishment of Action Research projects that will contribute to improvements and innovations within the shelter sector.
There is significant travel with this role (up to 50% FTE), and the post holder must be prepared to travel at short notice for up to two months at a time. The MEAL Coordinators may also be asked to contribute to the development of organisational policy papers on mainstreaming or technical areas such as cash programming.

Duties will include but not be limited to:
Project Support (70% FTE):
The MEAL coordinator is a core member of the project team and will work closely with the project lead to ensure project quality and accountability. They will lead processes or liaise with partners (depending on implementation model) to ensure ShelterBox standards are adhered to. Specifically, they will:
- Advise/Carry out needs assessments to inform project design
- Facilitate technical MEAL component of Organizational Capacity Assessments and support with the development of capacity strengthening plans for potential partners
- As relevant, support the delivery of Capacity Building Action Plans, through the development of appropriate resources/ providing in-person and remote training /mentoring on MEAL concepts and practice. This will also involve reviewing training courses/modules, developing resources, and providing training.
- Collaborate with partners and implementing teams to, support project/log frame development with clear outcomes/outputs and SMART indicators, in line with organizational reporting requirements
- Ensure robust MEAL plans are in place, and that SADD distribution data is robust
- Ensure robust and transparent community feedback mechanisms are functioning and support safeguarding processes
- Provide technical input/Lead data collection exercises (both quantitative and qualitative)
- Liaise with partners and implementing teams to ensure the MEAL Plans are operationalized and that the data/reports provided by partners are robust, verifiable and with the appropriate degree of objectivity.
- Ensure project documentation is up to date
- Support data analysis and the facilitation of learning and reflection based on findings that result in data-led decision making
- Coordinate/Facilitate/carry out end of project evaluation processes in line with DAC criteria.
- Ensure all projects/programmes are contributing to organisational KPI reporting. Develop and populate Information Management systems as appropriate.
- Liaise with the Grant Management team to ensure that all projects MEAL systems and processes are in line with donor requirements, and support programme managers to submit quality narrative reports in a timely fashion.
Knowledge creation and sharing (20% FTE):
- Ensure that each Project logframe, MEAL plan and Learning and Accountability Framework are up-to-date and facilitate continuous and conscious reflection and learning.
- Utilising M&E data, evaluation findings and wider sector understanding, develop thematic discussions to strengthen understanding within ShelterBox and in relevant Communities of Practice.
Infrastructure development (10% FTE):
- Contribute to the development of policies, SOPs and processes that strengthen project delivery and accountability.
- Ensure ShelterBox is abreast of new technological developments supporting information gathering and analysis, particularly methodologies that empower affected populations to communicate with ShelterBox and to share their insights enhancing participation.
Working Requirements: This role will support the design and implementation of rapid response emergency project that will demand prolonged travel (up to two months) at very short notice. For remote workers: travel to Truro HQ for collaboration weeks approx. 3 times a year, and additional meetings as requested.
