The RCR is a charity with a focus on supporting doctors who deliver medical imaging and cancer services and we require a passionate and dynamic finance professional to helps us continue making a difference.

The Head of Finance will manage the high-performing finance team consisting of a Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant and Finance Business Partner. Sitting in the Business and Resources Directorate the team are instrumental to the successful running of the RCR. In this role you will be responsible for the operational finance function which handles accounting, financial reporting, planning and transactional activities as well as supporting longer-term strategic planning.

As a finance professional you will use your expertise to further support the RCR by delivering the organisations financial objectives and build strong working relationships with managers to equip them with the tools to make good financial decisions. Furthermore, you will support the Executive Director, Business & Resources in the delivery of effective risk management activities and reporting, lead discussions on how our financial controls and processes may need to change and adapt, shape and drive business performance to ensure your leadership of the finance function results in the delivery of excellent services.

What you’ll do:

• Lead, motivate and develop the finance team to deliver essential business services adapting and anticipating changes in business needs.
• Develop, agree and maintain a suite of internal service standards to meet business needs.
• Plan and lead the organisation’s financial budget process ensuring a comprehensive capture of business needs and advise SMT and managers.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial management accounts are produced according to appropriate standards.
• Maintain a suitable suite of business financial policies, processes and controls that meet the business needs and are compliant with legislation and external standards.
• Lead the provision of commercial advice to directors, managers and staff to ensure best practice on procurement and contract management.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

1. Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
2. Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
5. Budget Management: Ensure the program operates within budget constraints.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
• Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.

3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks

• Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

About this role 

The MENA Death Penalty Caseworker will undertake a range of activities in support of Reprieve’s work on cases of individuals on death row or at risk of the death penalty across the MENA region, including casework and investigations into individual cases and the broader death penalty landscape, support to Reprieve clients, and support to partner organisations and lawyers in the MENA region and beyond.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Associate Solicitor will lead our legal team in Britain and oversee our cases in England and Wales. 

The role requires a qualified solicitor with experience of running litigious cases. Our main practice areas in Britain are: (i) public law and human rights; (ii) employment and discrimination and (iii) defamation law. The post-holder will have particular expertise in one of these areas. Our cases also involve data rights, freedom of information, criminal law, actions against the police, charity law, education law, international humanitarian law, and immigration issues. 

The post holder will manage a growing team that consists of a Legal Officer and a Junior Legal Officer. In addition, our country teams have advocacy and communication officers and researchers who monitor anti-Palestinian racism.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee all litigious and advisory casework in Britain alongside our junior legal staff and legal network. Provide expert legal advice and representation, to individual clients and movement partners.

• Manage our legal officers, providing training and feedback to them as appropriate. Collaborate closely with our legal network of solicitors and counsel with the goal of strengthening the wider movement. 

• ​​Develop and advance new legal strategies for challenging state and non-state repression of advocacy for Palestine in consultation with our legal network, national partners and experts. 

• Support the development of effective advocacy campaigns to increase the impact of litigation outside the courtroom.

• Support ELSC’s outreach and public engagement initiatives.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required experience, knowledge and skills

• 3 years + post-qualified experience (PQE) and admitted to practise as a solicitor in England and Wales.

• Experience leading on a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters, particularly in public, employment and/or defamation law. 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice on complex issues in a comprehensible and appropriate format. 

• An ability to engage with the law critically and develop strategies that serve broader political objectives. Track record of collaborating well with other lawyers, academics and civil society organisations.

• Excellent client care skills, particularly in relation to vulnerable or marginalised clients.

• Experience in a role which requires coordination of multiple projects and/or workstreams concurrently, and the ability to manage relationship with partner organisations, coalitions and counsel.

• High level of English-language proficiency.

• Commitment to the Palestinian liberation and solidarity movement.

Desirable experience, skills and knowledge

• Dual-qualified in Scotland and/or Northern Ireland.

Our client, a leading London University are currently looking to recruit a Student Conduct and Appeals Manager on a full-time basis. Starting as soon as possible and running for 4 months in the first instance, the post will be hybrid working of 1 day per week on site and the remainder remote.

Key responsibilities for this post will include:

• Leading the management and investigation of the referrals to the Student Conduct and Appeals Office.
• Proactively developing and delivering effective staff training.
• Providing detailed and clear briefings on cases for various relevant senior staff members.
• Appropriately managing case load, upholding the high standards and protocols of the institution.
• Ensuring that students are provided with appropriate and accurate advice regarding student misconduct, complaints and appeals processes and related support services that are available.
• Working with various academic and professional services staff throughout the institution.

To be considered for this post, you will have:

• Previous experience of working in a similar role, ideally within a Higher Education setting.
• Strong administration experience, including analysing complex information and a meticulous eye for detail.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and organisation skills, capable of managing and prioritising a varied workload, work well under pressure and demonstrate a flexible attitude to work.
• Sound knowledge of regulatory issues, safeguarding, and duty of care in relation to student misconduct, appeals and complaints.

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions across North and East London, West Essex and East Herts. We have recently restructured the Income Generation and Marketing team and this role sits within the High Value team, working alongside Corporate fundraising, Philanthropy and Special Events, and reporting into the Assistant Director of IGM/ Head of High Value Partnerships. The team are currently developing a new high value strategy, to underpin the organisation wide strategy and the overall IGM strategy.

The Community Fundraising Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community groups, schools and other organisations fundraising for Haven House Children’s Hospice. The Community Fundraising Officer will support groups, schools and organisations doing their own events and fundraising activities, work toward agreed income targets, and assist the two Managers in the team with planning and delivering key Haven House events and programmes.

This role will report to the Community & Events Manager and will be responsible for maximising income from across our community through providing an exceptional level of supporter care. The Community Fundraising Officer will work closely with our Database Manager to ensure accurate recording and reporting of income and supporter information.  This role will also manage a brilliant team of volunteer Community Champions who attend local events and speaking engagements on behalf of Haven House.

We are looking for someone to work on a variety of projects who is able to build strong relationships in our community and to take responsibility for the wide variety of relationships across our community.
