About the role
Dementia UK is currently seeking a Database Officer to lead on the delivery of processes within the Database Services team.
As Database officer, your primary responsibility will be managing a substantial volume of data files, from a variety of sources seamlessly importing this information into our fundraising database. You will handle supporter data ensuring a high level of accuracy, while being directly responsible for running the majority of data imports as well as handling enquires coming into the Database Services shared inbox and running regular data cleansing routines.
In addition, you will be expected to maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed. Working with the Supporter Care, Finance, and Fundraising teams to ensure income is accurately coded across all fundraising streams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection guidelines including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and will bring previous experience in using databases for data entry, maintenance, and importation. A high level of computer literacy is essential, and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required. What we are looking for in our Senior Communications Officer:

At least two years experience working in communications/journalism/publications or similar.

Experience of liaising with a variety of individuals and organisations of all seniorities, internally and externally.

Experience of maintaining systems for information storage and retrieval.

Experience of online communications/websites/social media, including Content Management Systems.

Experience delivering public-facing campaigns with a range of stakeholders.

The Data Systems Manager will support the development and use of digital data, analysis, and insight products that inform strategic decision making and enable colleagues to deliver high-quality policy and programme work.
Under the direction of the Head of Systems Improvement Project (SIP) the Data Systems Manager will actively maintain and develop the functionality and quality of WFD’s information management systems. This role will work across the organisation communicating with a broad range of stakeholders around the word. Involves; providing advice, training and support for staff in the use of the systems, developing new methods for data visualisation and dissemination, and with guidance identifying process optimisation opportunities and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions.
About You
Tech savvy - able to demonstrate and apply a broad range of technical knowledge and skills. Technical qualifications are not critical for the role however it is essential you have.
- Experience in database management and/or design, either as part of a software development project or configuring tools.
- Experience with NO-CODE or LOW-CODE application development framework such as KNACK or Microsoft PowerApps.
- Must demonstrate ambition and the capacity to learn and grow as WFD’s data architecture evolves.

About the role
The London Library is looking for an Acquisitions and Discovery Assistant to assist in the acquisition and management of Library E-resources and print resources.
The role includes supporting the successful acquisition and seamless delivery of electronic resources to library users, utilising and maintaining relevant library systems and records; assisting purchasing decisions and supporting licensing, ordering and payment processes; verifying access, liaising with suppliers & Library IT, and ensuring correct metadata is presented to users; plus monitoring resource use and collecting data for the evaluation of subscriptions. There is the opportunity to support membership and services, including giving tours to prospective members.
In addition to assisting with the administration of E-books, the role requires processes associated with the management of the print journal collection, including serials and donated materials, such as checking in new issues and ensuring publications are shelved correctly, applying stamps, recording invoices, recording changes in publishers' information and preparing completed volumes of serial parts for binding and checking.
There is potential to grow and develop the role, which will join our busy Acquisitions and Discovery team and assisting with administrative tasks associated with cataloguing along with supporting the Library’s internal Digitisation processes as required.
About you
Flexible and adaptable, with an ability to get on with a wide variety of people, even under pressure, you will have proven experience of working in a Library environment and of basic clerical/administrative routines.
You will have exceptional organisation and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and courteously, with a methodical approach to tasks, including physical duties such as shelving.
