The role
As a member of our corporate services directorate, you will be proactive in maintaining quality and high availability IT systems by providing first and second-line IT support to over 350 staff across 4 offices and around 200 associates in a smaller capacity. This includes user management, telephone system administration, backups, software compliance, hardware refreshes, documentation, and user training. This is also an excellent opportunity for you to hone and develop your IT skills through the learning and development opportunities that are available.
About you
As a key member of the IT team, you will be an active team player with the ability to engage with the people who use our IT systems. You will have sound problem-solving skills and be thorough in your approach with an excellent eye for detail. Highly organised, you will be able to manage your time and priorities well. We are mostly a Microsoft environment and you will be able to demonstrate the fundamental skills to go with that (Windows 10/11, Office 365 apps and administration with Active Directory). You will be able to troubleshoot basic network issues and manage corporate backup and antivirus solutions.

Primary location of role and hybrid working
This role is primarily based in our London office. However, our hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.

We have ambitious goals here at the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) and are looking for an experienced, strategic, and financially savvy Head of Finance to join us. The RCR is a charity with a focus on supporting doctors who deliver medical imaging and cancer services and we require a passionate and dynamic finance professional to helps us continue making a difference.
The Head of Finance will manage the high-performing finance team consisting of a Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant and Finance Business Partner. Sitting in the Business and Resources Directorate the team are instrumental to the successful running of the RCR. In this role you will be responsible for the operational finance function which handles accounting, financial reporting, planning and transactional activities as well as supporting longer-term strategic planning.
As a finance professional you will use your expertise to further support the RCR by delivering the organisations financial objectives and build strong working relationships with managers to equip them with the tools to make good financial decisions. Furthermore, you will support the Executive Director, Business & Resources in the delivery of effective risk management activities and reporting, lead discussions on how our financial controls and processes may need to change and adapt, shape and drive business performance to ensure your leadership of the finance function results in the delivery of excellent services.
What you’ll do:
- Lead, motivate and develop the finance team to deliver essential business services adapting and anticipating changes in business needs.
- Develop, agree and maintain a suite of internal service standards to meet business needs.
- Plan and lead the organisation’s financial budget process ensuring a comprehensive capture of business needs and advise SMT and managers.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial management accounts are produced according to appropriate standards.
- Maintain a suitable suite of business financial policies, processes and controls that meet the business needs and are compliant with legislation and external standards.
- Lead the provision of commercial advice to directors, managers and staff to ensure best practice on procurement and contract management.
What you’ll need:
- Experience of operating successfully at a Finance Manager or Head of Finance role in a comparable organisation.
- A strategic and critical thinker with the ability to develop a team to deliver on long term goals.
- Understanding of risk, risk management processes and the use of risk analysis to help plan and develop organisations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical/non-professional audiences.
- Skilled manager of people, able to bring together, motivate, coordinate and develop a team.
- Excellent commercial skills, including the capacity to lead or support negotiations and to influence and motivate others.

Parkinson’s UK – Head of Major Gifts
Location: London Victoria, SW1V, hybrid working (minimum of two days per week in person working). Occasional travel will also be required.
Salary: £65k - £70k, depending on experience.

This role will support and inspire an ambitious and high performing team to build propositions, proposals and pipelines in order to unlock opportunities to engage the charity’s supporters and untap networks across the charity, securing vital funds to underpin their strategic programmes and ambitions for people with Parkinson’s. The post-holder will inspire supporters to give their biggest donation and ensure that the organisation is giving its supporters the best experience possible, delivering an annual income target of £6m+. The role will also play a pivotal part in driving a new multi-year, multi-million pound charity appeal.
Maximising the value and contribution of supporters is fundamental to Parkinson’s UK; building networks, understanding what motivates their supporters, and aligning programmes to their charitable interests is key to the charity’s growth plans for Major Gifts. This role will be critical to leading the philanthropy, trust and statutory, special events and prospect research and insights teams (approximately 18 people) and working with colleagues and leaders across the charity to identify prospects and opportunities to give at a transformational level. The post will also be an active member of the Fundraising Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in major gifts fundraising and a proven track record of securing large gifts. They will also have experience of managing a large annual income target and driving continued growth and ensuring targets are met. They will have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire multiple teams to coordinate projects and exceed fundraising targets. Strong presentation skills and budgetary skills will be combined with the ability to build positive and high-value relationships across a range of sectors, individuals, organisations and committees. Finally, they will be solutions focused with the ability to work well under pressure.

Role Purpose
Grandmentors is an innovative volunteering project where more mature volunteers use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor under supported young people (predominantly aged 17-25) with experience of the care system. These young people often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives. Volunteers meet with a young person regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each young person.
The postholder will be leading on the Grandmentors project within the London Borough of Lewisham, working closely with Lewisham Council and our other Grandmentors projects nationally. The Project Coordinator role is part of a job share, meaning you will be working closely with another Project Coordinator who has already been working on the project for a year. The post holder will attend Council team meetings to integrate Grandmentors into other Council services as well as other local community and council-led events. They will recruit volunteers locally from the community, and within surrounding areas where referred young people live. Young people are referred directly to Volunteering Matters through the Leaving Care team at Lewisham Council. The post holder with work with the young people to match them with a volunteer mentor and support the ongoing relationship. This can include some evening and weekend work, which is within our flexible working culture and policy.
The postholder will be expected to maintain relationships whilst developing new ones, and will be working to achieve match and referral targets. A flexible and adaptable approach is important, working with volunteers and young people to achieve positive outcomes. The postholder will ensure the volunteers are trained and supported to help the young people achieve their goals, and also to support young people who may have varied complex challenges relating to for example, physical and mental health, new parenthood, English as an additional language and barriers faced through cultural heritage.

· To ensure volunteers are recruited, engaged, and retained by taking them through the appropriate on-boarding process i.e., interview, application, training, DBS checks, regular supervision etc.
· To work with staff teams at Lewisham Council to promote Grandmentors and to maintain referrals of young people who may benefit from the service.
· To support young people to match with a volunteer mentor, and ensure the young person leads this process.
· To effectively deliver the service to ensure the project meets its agreed match targets and milestones.
· To attend events and be able to promote the Grandmentors volunteering opportunity within the community.
· Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and local authority staff.
· To maintain accurate records on all aspects of the project and submit data onto the CRM database.
· To manage and maintain effective monitoring and evaluation records to capture impact and outcomes for reporting purposes.
· To implement and maintain appropriate risk assessment management processes.
· To promote and adhere to Volunteering Matters Equality and Diversity Policy and all other Volunteering Matters policies which relate to the work of Grandmentors.
· To comply with Health and Safety and Safeguarding regulations

Where home working, the postholder will require good internet access to enable remote working, and a suitable home office space. I.T. equipment and infrastructure will be supplied.
