This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, dedicated team based in Wakefield.  Playing a key role as Business Operations Manager you will be a crucial member of the Management team, leading the back-office and supporting the Chief Executive Officer.

You will be part of the newly created Management Team, providing Business Operations Support for the Organisation as a whole.  This is a challenging but exciting opportunity to design and embed efficient business processes and assist colleagues to improve business practices to maximise efficiency and to help take this established Membership Services Organisation to the next level.

Reporting to the CEO and Board you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Business, including the financial and operational management of business support functions.  The job holder will be key in ensuring highly effective operational support to the Management Team and colleagues.

The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. The primary objectives are to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to our beneficiaries; to develop our regional peer support model; and to facilitate a positive volunteering experience for our lived experience volunteer team. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day coordination of peer support activity. This will involve sensitive communication with trauma-affected individuals to understand their needs and preferences, using this information to facilitate suitable peer support matches.

The postholder will contribute to building a diverse volunteer team by supporting the volunteer recruitment and induction processes. They will offer ongoing support, guidance and motivation to our volunteers, ensuring meaningful opportunities to engage with Day One. The postholder will support the Peer Support Manger to conduct regular reviews with volunteers to gather feedback on their experiences as well as supporting their personal and professional development.

The Peer Support Co-ordinator will monitor service delivery and volunteer activity to ensure it is operating within agreed policies and processes. To ensure we can evidence the success and quality of the service, a key aspect of the role will involve keeping accurate records of interventions as well as collecting regular evaluation/impact data and personal case studies.

You will be a compassionate individual, dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of support for our beneficiaries and volunteers alike. You will be empathic with strong active listening skills, able to demonstrate sensitivity and discretion in your communication with trauma-affected individuals.  You will be adept at identifying individual’s support needs and have strong social/communication skills enabling you to facilitate appropriate and meaningful peer support matches. Possessing excellent organisational skills, you will thrive in the fast-paced and reactive environment of peer support service delivery.

You will be committed to maintaining high standards and have a keen eye for detail able to keep accurate records of interventions and collect evaluation/impact data with regularity. Additionally, you will have a proactive approach to building and supporting a diverse volunteer team.  You will be a ‘people-person’, enjoy speaking with others, and have the knowledge and confidence to offer ongoing guidance and motivation to our volunteer team. Day One is a young, ambitious national charity dedicated to supporting people impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences such as disability or death, referred to in the NHS as ‘major trauma’.  Our Caseworkers work alongside NHS Clinicians, embedded as part of the team within Major Trauma Centres and across the wider Major Trauma Network to provide practical, emotional and financial support to adults and children as well as their families and loved ones.  Inspired ‘by patients for patients’ our vision is that no one has to piece life back together on their own after catastrophic injury.

• Managing your own portfolio of 20+ existing funders, providing them with excellent stewardship.
• Developing effective relationships with trusts via telephone, email, Zoom and face to face contact – at meetings and events.
• Maintaining relationships with new and existing funders and then submitting excellent quality funding reports/applications. 
• Maximising on charitable trust relationships to secure the maximum amount of funding. 
• Using your creativity  and new ideas to lead on the growth of the income of the trusts mailing
• Demonstrating perseverance and determination in order to develop new funding relationships. 

Skills

• Passion to support children and young people, preventing mental health issues from developing 
• Ideally one year or more experience in Trusts fundraising, although this does not need to be exclusively working on Charitable Trusts’

• A proactive self-starter who can manage their own workload in a self-directed environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to communicate and influence others verbally

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

1. Proven experience and success in developing and drafting proposals and/or reports raising funds from trusts, foundations, other grant makers or the equivalent.

2. Experience of creating compelling and concise funding proposals, written documents and reports from a range of information sources, including detailed technical or sector specific information. about the organisation’s work.

3. Proven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Key Tasks

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all high value fundraising activity, including proposals, applications, and donor interactions, and be able to regularly report this activity back to the Head of Philanthropy.

• Manage a portfolio of low-mid level prospects and existing donors, developing clear strategies to cultivate relationships and secure continued philanthropic support of £1,000 to £10,000. Ensure all donors in the assigned portfolio are provided stewardship and take responsibility for contacts and annual work plan.

• Develop and deliver a programme of cultivation, stewardship and recognition low-mid level donors and prospects, proactively seeking opportunities to improve the chances of securing repeat gifts through bespoke communications and consistent stewardship.

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and wider High Value Team with stewardship and cultivation of donors and key contacts. These activities may include virtual events, stewardship events, proposal development, annual reporting, and direct marketing appeals.

• Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system for all existing and prospective donors within High Value Giving liaising with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure reconciliation with financial record.

• Work closely with the Philanthropy team and other colleagues to maximise all opportunities and support a dynamic, successful, and professional team

• Ensure that data security is maintained and that legal and regulatory requirements are fully complied with.

• Undertake other tasks, when necessary, to achieve the team’s and the organisation’s overall objectives.

 General

• Managing a complex workload with competing demands and deadlines. The role holder will agree objectives and overall priorities with the Head of Philanthropy but is expected to manage unexpected/unplanned work within overall timeframes.

Aid to the Church in Need is a Catholic charity, supporting persecuted and suffering Christians around the world.

Working alongside the existing Community Fundraiser in London, this role will engage with the Dioceses in Westminster, Brentford & East Anglia to establish and strengthen links to individual bishops and diocesan communications staff. Attend parishes to deliver weekend fundraising appeals as well as giving talks and presentations to parish groups.  

Developing strong links for ACN with educational and pastoral networks in Schools, Colleges and Universities, building relationships and supporting them in delivering the ACN Schools Programme, boosting the take up of the programme, increasing school engagement and delivering assemblies in person and virtually.

A driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.

Main purpose of the role

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, this post will lead on the development and delivery of Thrive’s community and public fundraising whilst working collaboratively with the rest of fundraising team to maximise and develop opportunities over various income streams.

 The post holder will work with our local centres to develop fundraising opportunities and offerings that are appealing to the local community.

About the role

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work across two schools in Greenwich, London. Our schools are shown on a map The Access Project schools on our website.

The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.

Role responsibilities

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme

• Match students with volunteer tutors

• Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance

• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications

• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)

• Monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate

• Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme

• Manage tutor relationships and attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls.

• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme

• Chair and present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.

• University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Training and Development

You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. There is support from your line manager (Programme Manager), as well as guidance from a Senior University Access Officer and the wider University Access Officer team across The Access Project. There are opportunities for progression, including several additional responsibility roles which are available for UAOs to apply for once they have completed their probationary period successfully.

We are in search of recovery focused, passionate, and caring people to join our very friendly team of Early Intervention in Psychosis Practitioners.

As a Band 5, you may already have experience of working in mental health services or have a passion to work in mental health together with a wealth of relevant skills that come from other professions such as teaching, probation or youth work.

You’ll be joining a supportive team who are passionate about recovery and trauma informed care. You’ll hold a of caseload of clients with first episode psychosis and you will provide individualised care to help them move forward with their goals and recovery.

Crisis House is a community-based crisis service, working to a recovery model with the aim to reduce the amount of A&E and Hospital admissions through evidence-based CBT interventions. We provide a range of intervention support and are partnered with the NHS, working alongside the Home Treatment Team who offer clinical governance. Additionally, we offer a range of services for people with mental ill health to become more connected to their local community, building on their social engagement. We signpost to local services and host awareness days that truly reflect the community we support to break down stigma and discrimination. Offering support 24/7 with a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. From 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship will be merging with the mental health charity Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades.
