In line with the Church of England’s Routemap to Net Zero Carbon, the Diocese of Leeds has an ambition to achieve net zero carbon (NZC) by 2030 across our diocesan estate. To deliver this ambition, a detailed net zero carbon programme that has been developed is being implemented to decarbonise the 587 churches, 57 school and 451 domestic properties for clergy within the diocese.
We are recognised as a leading diocese within the whole of the Church of England’s NZC programme, and we anticipate being at the forefront of seeking funding for decarbonisation projects in this sector.
A recent piece of research for the Diocese of Leeds has identified potential NZC funding sources across including community funding, grant funding, statutory funding, high net worth individuals, corporate donors. A funding action plan has been proposed.
To support this extensive programme of work we are seeking an experienced Funding Officer to work alongside a growing vibrant and committed diocesan team of NZC officers. The diocese has gained national Church of England funding to support this role until the end 2025.

About the Role
As Shop Support & Projects Manager, you will provide focused support on defined areas, working alongside the Shop Manager to understand the shop, community, and proposition.
This is an exciting new role with huge opportunity to impact the success of our Teddington shop, and to act as an ambassador for our brand in the local community!
Working closely with the Shop Manager in our Teddington shop, you'll take on a varied role delivering on key areas of work to enable the delivery of the shop's potential. You'll help embed new processes and ways of working that empower the volunteer team to help the Shop Manager drive the shop forward.
From supporting volunteer recruitment, to taking on responsibility for day-to-day operations or leadership of the shop, you'll provide key support and additional capacity to the Shop Manager to enable the shop's continued success.
About You
You will be someone with exceptional project coordination skills, who understands the importance of community and enjoys supporting people to exercise similar passions through volunteering.
You'll bring:
• Project coordination or operations experience within retail or a transferable setting, e.g. community engagement, volunteer management, retail operations etc.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build & maintain positive working relationships with a variety of people.
• A flexible, positive and resilient attitude, able to work at pace in a fast-moving environment.
• Results driven approach with experience of working to targets.
• Experience and confidence using a range of IT platforms including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as systems for the management of other areas (e.g. reporting, volunteer management).

Responsibilities:
- Support the start-up of new VCS organisations, including advice on appropriate structures and any appropriate registrations.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in management/governance in VCS groups and provide advice to address, in particular trustee roles and responsibilities, business/strategic planning, project planning, evidencing impact, evaluation and monitoring, safeguarding.
- Advise, and support organisations on different sources of funding and which are relevant to their needs including grants, trading, contracts, donors, etc.
- To enable organisations to develop appropriate documentation. To produce model documents in plain language, in particular health and safety, data protection and environmental policies
- To provide organisation specific advice and information by telephone, email and one to one advice sessions (inn person and virtual)
- To design, organise and, if appropriate, deliver training events, webinars, lunch time seminars, meetings, events, and conferences for VCS organisations as required.
- Contribute to the development of tools and resources for defining and supporting the organisational development needs of small and medium sized VCS groups
- To ensure the provision of advice and information through the website, on demand webinars, newsletters, special briefing supplements, etc.
- Be understanding and be particularly supportive to VCS groups who face additional barriers in accessing support and in applying advice and learning
- Encouraging and facilitating the sharing of skills and resources between VCS organisations.
- Work and liaise with others contracted to provide support services to the VCS in the BCP area.
- To maintain effective networks and working relationships with appropriate individuals and agencies.
- Refer organisations to other specialised support and advice agencies as appropriate.
- Promote the role and needs of the sector to stakeholders when appropriate
- To champion, identify and convene partnerships and opportunities for collaboration and co-design to support identified outcomes and by utilising collective resources.
- To identify gaps in community needs and support how the VCS can meet these.
- Monitor and evaluate the work and assist in reporting as required.
- To keep up to date on all the legal and technical aspects of running a VSC organisation, and of local, regional and national funders and funding programmes

About the role
Sightsavers are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to support the "Futuremakers Ready for Inclusive Sustainable Employment and Entrepreneurship (RISE/E)" Project, and to manage activities and relationships with key stakeholders. The post holder will ensure that the project is planned, implemented, coordinated, monitored, evaluated, and adapted to the highest possible quality standards.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for delivering this innovative project in Uganda, as well as part of a country team, contributing to growth and expansion of the portfolio.
Key duties will include:
- Working with the country project management team and other funding / resources partners to coordinate implementation of activities and sharing of lessons learned.
- Coordinate all aspects of the project cycle with the partners including effective planning, start-up, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, financial and asset management, reporting, documentation, and closeout.
- Liaise and work with the Global Technical Leads (Disability Inclusive Economic Empowerment) and other internal expertise as required.
- Ensure high quality and ethical MEL approaches are embedded in all interventions in the context of a project that is fast paced and innovative with continuous cycles of monitoring, evaluating and adaptation.
- Coordinate partner organizations with whom Sightsavers will be working with to achieve the project and organization's strategic objective of ensuring that people with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities through both service delivery and advocacy.
- Build effective partner relationships and support longer-term relationships that go beyond the duration of the project by disseminating information and advocating for the project's goals.
- Support project partners in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor expenditure of project financial resources in liaison with the Finance Support Services Officer and the Program Manager.
- Be proactive in providing good quality information on case studies and interesting news stories relating to the project to support preparation of fundraising materials and advocacy materials.
- Ensure that the country project management team, fundraising, and communication department in the UK receive appropriate materials and information as required to support donor reporting requirements.
- Participate in all PR activities related to disability inclusive employment and employment, education, and social inclusion e.g. Labour Day, Person with Disabilities Day in the project area.

As the successful candidate you will possess experience with labour market issues including labour market assessments, skills training/development, internships, employer engagement, disability inclusion, job placements and job fairs. You will have a background, or qualification in social sciences, education, development studies or public health, and be familiar with national legislation and policies in the field of disability, human rights, and employment.
Further requirements include:
- Significant experience implementing projects, including experience of the disability sector and gender mainstreaming.
- Experience in project monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
- Experience of designing, managing, and carrying out advocacy work for social inclusion/disability projects.
- Experience providing technical assistance to other organizations.
- Knowledge of current issues and best practices in disability, United Nations Convention of the Rights of People with Disabilities (UNCRPD), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and employment is desirable.

The initial focus of the Community Builder role is to research and establish a deep understanding of the area, collaborating with local residents and existing organisations to uncover the key community assets and skills of local residents.

The Role:
The Marketing Assistant will play a key role supporting the Marketing & Communications team in implementing the integrated communications strategy and providing marketing support for the promotion of hospice services and income generation activity.
Your day-to-day tasks will be varied, but typically will include assisting with delivering our social media calendar, creating engaging content for use across our communication channels, writing copy for press releases and arranging photo calls, assisting in print and publication production, and updating content on the website.
What you need:
The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar marketing role or have a qualification in marketing or communications and demonstrate a strong team ethic and creative flair. You must be highly organised and have excellent communication and relationship building skills. You’ll need to be able to work well within a busy team and able to work on a number of projects simultaneously.
