Candidates must have a history of providing emotional support to emontionally distressed or vulnerable people.
The Office Assistant will be accountable to the Office Co-ordinator, and they must be able to fulfil a variety of administration and digital tasks. They will also assist staff and trustees in the delivery of the charity’s projects and possess good digital and face to face communication skills.

About you

As a people person with great interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to build and maintain excellent professional relationships delivering bespoke support, which enables the local VCS to fulfil their missions more effectively, improve performance and governance and become stronger, safer, and more sustainable.
Responsibilities:
- Support the start-up of new VCS organisations, including advice on appropriate structures and any appropriate registrations.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in management/governance in VCS groups and provide advice to address, in particular trustee roles and responsibilities, business/strategic planning, project planning, evidencing impact, evaluation and monitoring, safeguarding.
- Advise, and support organisations on different sources of funding and which are relevant to their needs including grants, trading, contracts, donors, etc.
- To enable organisations to develop appropriate documentation. To produce model documents in plain language, in particular health and safety, data protection and environmental policies
- To provide organisation specific advice and information by telephone, email and one to one advice sessions (inn person and virtual)
- To design, organise and, if appropriate, deliver training events, webinars, lunch time seminars, meetings, events, and conferences for VCS organisations as required.
- Contribute to the development of tools and resources for defining and supporting the organisational development needs of small and medium sized VCS groups
- To ensure the provision of advice and information through the website, on demand webinars, newsletters, special briefing supplements, etc.
- Be understanding and be particularly supportive to VCS groups who face additional barriers in accessing support and in applying advice and learning
- Encouraging and facilitating the sharing of skills and resources between VCS organisations.
- Work and liaise with others contracted to provide support services to the VCS in the BCP area.
- To maintain effective networks and working relationships with appropriate individuals and agencies.
- Refer organisations to other specialised support and advice agencies as appropriate.
- Promote the role and needs of the sector to stakeholders when appropriate
- To champion, identify and convene partnerships and opportunities for collaboration and co-design to support identified outcomes and by utilising collective resources.
- To identify gaps in community needs and support how the VCS can meet these.
- Monitor and evaluate the work and assist in reporting as required.
- To keep up to date on all the legal and technical aspects of running a VSC organisation, and of local, regional and national funders and funding programmes

Swindon’s welcome, accessible space in the heart of the town is looking for two Hub Coordinators - to help us grow, build and do more: by and with the community.
You’ll be working with a dynamic group of volunteers and visitors, helping to keep the Hub running day-to-day, as well as taking on a special focus of your own.
One special focus will be reaching out and drawing in: connecting with communities, groups and people around Swindon who are not using the Hub; building relationships, working in partnership and organising events and activities to see that the Hub is as inclusive and diverse as it can be.
The other special focus will be learning, skills & growing: supporting volunteers and visitors to the Hub, developing programmes of activities and opportunities - both internal and working with external partners - to help people learn, develop and grow.

The Role:
This role will cover a wider area of executive support including governance, meeting management, senior leadership team support, managing on-line gatherings, travel management, diary management, correspondence management and relationship management.
The post-holder will be key in supporting the WWP in this, and also, with both WWP and CEO, in mapping out the key events and activities over a 6 year cycle, so that there is a clear structure for the new WWP (and ultimately successor to CEO ) to come into and work with. They will also assist the CEO in “standard agenda planning” for the board, for example, the induction of the new Board in early 2025.
Whilst the role is for 3 days per week, ideally this would be flexible, with the individual working more days at certain times (for example during the Board week) and less at quieter times.
MU is a small team, (about 25) and there is an expectation that all will show flexibility in helping out on areas not explicit in their role descriptions, when time and their expertise and ongoing workload allow
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should be proficient in handling the Microsoft suite, zoom, familiarity with handling databases and finance systems. They should be confident in taking minutes in board meetings, experienced in acting as a project manager, able to use a project tool to facilitate planning of schedules for SLT, Board and committees throughout the year, and possess excellent relationship skills, confident to liaise with board members and provincial presidents from around the Globe.

Work Location
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays.

The Role
As Head of IS and Data Management you will be responsible for implementing our IS and Data Strategy and driving efficiency using technology across Sanctuary. You will lead on the strategic development, management and operating of the IS systems and data infrastructure whilst managing and motivating the teams to deliver an efficient service across the Charity.
Responsibilities will include:
- Implementing and managing the IS and data strategy which drives the future direction and utilisation of technology within the charity to drive efficiencies and defining business relevant KPI’s to measure its benefits and success.
- Designing and implementing a new target operating model of the charity’s support requirements and implementing standard processes and standard protocols (e.g. ITIL), to improve ongoing controls, customer service, and build a culture of continuous improvement.
- Leading the certification of Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Implementing standards and operating practices for data management, information lifecycle management and security (e.g. cyber essentials plus).
- Leading and continually improving the operational performance of the team to agreed service level agreements.
- Supporting the development of business cases, including presenting on behalf of the Executive Team to the board of Trustees.
- Supporting the Director of Information Systems and Data Management as necessary in championing the use of technology as an innovator and cost reduction enabler.
About You
Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification and/or relevant professional experience, you will have a comprehensive awareness of existing and developing technologies and how they can be applied to the business.
You will also:
- Be able to recognise business opportunities and experience of presenting a clear strategic vision of how technology can be applied to achieve success.
- Be able to demonstrate experience of, implementing and managing IT strategies and priorities.
- Have experience of managing n-tier architectures hosted in private and public cloud environments.
- Have a strong working knowledge of fundamental computing concepts to support trouble shooting, problem solving and critical thinking methodologies.
- Have proven management experience, including performance management.

Summary job description
We are currently recruiting a Project Manager - Advocacy to support the delivery of our new advocacy projects in West Africa. The projects of about $2 million over 3 years will be focused on supporting regional civil society organisations to advocate for the rights of small-scale fishers against industrial destructive fishing and promoting transparent and sustainable fisheries governance.
Reporting to the West Africa (WA) Regional Director with a dotted line to the Head of Programme Management, the Project Manager will be supported by the wider Blue Ventures team, which will provide technical and strategic support and guidance. This is a full time role based in Blue Ventures’ Senegalese office, with regular travel in the West Africa region to work closely with partners, field teams, and communities (up to 20% travels).
The successful candidate will be a motivated, proactive, and highly organised individual, with an excellent knowledge of project implementation and ideally, strong knowledge of partnerships and advocacy. You will demonstrate a proven track record of project implementation, as well as good spoken and written communication. Ideally, you will have experience of community-based conservation and development initiatives in the region.
