The Youth and Community Programmes team are looking for a Community Programmes Lead worker to support a broad range of activities aimed mainly at young people and over 50’s. Activities are delivered mainly over evenings and weekends aimed at making our community an inspirational place.
You will lead on session delivery and support the planning of programmes. You will manage and coordinate sessional workers, volunteers and workshop leaders working in sessions.

Thyroid UK is a charitable organisation working to inform and support people living with thyroid disorders in the UK and campaigning on their behalf for the right tests to diagnose thyroid disease and to have a choice of treatment options.
The provision of quality information for people with both diagnosed and undiagnosed thyroid disorders is the primary concern of Thyroid UK, and we work effectively in this field through dialogue with NHS departments, networking with other voluntary organisations, and providing services directly to patients. We work to encourage scientific research for the education, alleviation, care, treatment and cure of thyroid disease and seek to influence public health policy for the benefit of people affected.
Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Charity Operations Manager to run the smooth, effective operation of the organisation so we can best support people in the UK living with thyroid disease. This is a management role leading on all operational activities, supporting and working in close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Salary will be reviewed after an initial 6 month probationary period.
This role involves minimal supervision and is responsible for the day to day running and management of the charity.
General office management:
· General secretarial and administrative support including routine office tasks where needed
· To manage all operational activity of the charity according to the strategic direction provided by the Board of Trustees
· To be responsible for all aspects of staff and volunteer management, including recruitment, training and supervision
· Collaborating with other team members to ensure that information flows effectively
Support the CEO:
· Foster good relationships with other charities, organisations and research groups; supporting beneficiaries; liaising with patrons, medical advisers and trustees to support continued engagement
· Plan, market, manage and organise/deliver our projects such as conferences, webinars, surveys etc. to meet our strategic goals
· To ensure the financial sustainability of the charity by identifying and securing appropriate funding that supports the charity in achieving its objectives.
· To lead on trust and corporate fundraising to ensure our income streams remain stable and sustainable.
· Draft, proofread and publish the quarterly member magazine
· Draft and send our E-news to our beneficiaries
· Development of the website
· Management of IT systems
· Recruit, manage and supervise our volunteers
· Recruit and line manage staff
· Maintain and update the suite of governance policies to ensure
Thyroid UK is compliant with legal requirements and, where possible, best practices
· Identify opportunities to improve policies and procedures
· Prepare the annual report and other necessary documents and send to the Charity Commission and Companies House
Support the Board:
· Set Board meeting dates; preparing Board meeting papers, agendas and minutes, and liaise directly with Board members, in close collaboration with the CEO
· Contribute to the development and long term strategy of the charity providing regular reports to the board of trustees
· GDPR compliance in the role of GDPR Officer
· The role will require attendance at Board meetings that take place on Saturdays quarterly with one in London per year

About the role
Predominantly delivering online courses you will often be the first member of the team our volunteers meet and will give them a friendly and informative introduction to Coram Beanstalk. Sitting within our small training team, you will play a role in developing our ongoing learning and development offer for volunteers, secondary pupils and other external groups. Rugby foodbank's Engagement Officer will oversee the smooth running and operation of the foodbank, with concern for its operational efficiency and standards in accordance with The Trussell Trust franchise model. In partnership with the Service Delivery Manager, guide the development of the foodbank project, including its material resources, financial assets, reputation, partnerships and volunteer body. The Engagement Officer will have a key role in the delivery and development of Rugby foodbank and the growth of its services. They will be responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders including volunteers, food and financial donors, partner referral agencies plus community and business groups. The right candidate will be an effective communicator who will work hard to create a positive environment for volunteers, clients, agencies and donors maximising opportunities for engagement.

In order to achieve these aims we run the Hope Centre and Rugby foodbank which is part of the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks. Hope4 is the overarching charity name overseeing all operations of the Hope Centre and Rugby Foodbank.
As a charity, our clients are at the heart of what we do. Although Rugby is a small market town, in 2023 we supported over 190 people at our Day Centre and provided over 7500 foodbank food parcels. Our staff and volunteers are crucial to making this happen. We currently employ 8 members of staff and have 80+ people regular volunteers.
The charity was founded by the churches across the town and continues to hold to Christian principles working to address poverty, primarily homelessness and food poverty in the Borough of Rugby. The churches, as the Revive network, support the work we do both with funding and providing many of our volunteers. Our staff and volunteers support these values and ethos irrespective of belief or background.
We are looking for someone who can work as a flexible team member and with the ability to share and balance duties according to the needs and opportunities of the organisation. You will be an outgoing self-starter who is confident working on their own initiative as well as part of a wider team. Your key skill will be the ability to work with all types so people from every kind of background because you will be engaging with volunteers, clients, trustees and external agencies such as churches, schools and businesses. About the role:
Your role as a Service Delivery Assistant (SDA) will be to provide an administrative function to the Humberside staff team.
The SDA role is a crucial one, to ensure the efficient running of the service and support the frontline staff to provide an effective service.
As an SDA you will;
- provide an administrative function to include administration of cases and referrals including updating case management systems and communicating with referral agencies to gain further information
- Raise purchase orders, deal with invoicing and purchasing
- Work with the management team and staff team to ensure adherence to policy and procedure including health and safety checks and audits
- Monitor some HR functions such as DBS checking, working with the police vetting unit and ID checking
You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

Overall Duties of the role will include:
- Being an accessible point of contact for the children living with our carers and to our young people, keeping them up to date with the facilities and opportunities available with TACT
- Providing support to children with emotional welfare and mental health needs
- Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements

The Engagement and Activity Practitioner (EAP) will work closely with the children and young people in the care of TACT foster carers across the North West. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner will facilitate opportunities for participation by organising, and, attending, events and trips that are in line with the children’s interests, developmental stages, and abilities, inclusive of children with additional needs. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner will continue the development of the children’s buddying club, for children to meet on a regular basis and share their views, ideas, and interests for TACT as an organisation to meet their needs.

The Role
Community Connections supports people with any mental health or emotional needs to stay well in their communities through social connections and networks. It also helps people return to their communities / transition back / live fulfilled lives and meet their own goals.
