Development Manager (Trusts & Foundations)

Job Description

Join a successful fundraising team in one of London's leading literary institutions and help to deliver key revenue and capital fundraising targets.  You will be seeking out appropriate Trusts and Foundations, creating compelling cases for support for major projects.

We are looking for applicants who are experienced in identifying potential sources of funding, and pitching and securing new grants. While having a persistent, patient and diplomatic approach you will also bring a creative outlook on opening up ways to fund the Library.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation. Phase 2 of a £25 million Capital Development Project was recently completed and has won several awards. Future phases will include the creation of a Writers’ Room, refurbishment of the older parts of our historic Grade II listed building, construction of extra book stacks and a roof-top reading room, members’ refreshment room and terrace.

"…the London Library is one of the most thrilling places in the city.  Quite apart from its high standards of librarianship, there is no place I know of … that better embodies or promotes the romance of books."
Simon Callow
