We have recently refreshed our brand, launched a new website and are building our digital service delivery in order to reach at least 120,000 disabled children and young people by 2027. At Kids our partnerships with external companies provide vital funding, awareness and pro bono support to enable us to achieve our mission to ensure that every child has the opportunity to play, learn, thrive and grow.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Events, this is a key role with a responsibly to deliver on our plan to secure more strategic and transformational partners. A particular priority is multi-year partnerships where there is potential for growth.

In practice, this means proactively identifying and qualifying opportunities, cultivating and stewarding relationships and thinking creatively and strategically to develop compelling proposals. The successful candidate will be leading on proposal writing, pitches and representing Kids at new business meetings, pitches and events.

This role will focus on our new business pipeline ensuring we are effectively developing partnerships in support of our wider organisational strategy. The role will be responsible for securing national partnerships and the successful candidate will have experience of securing new partnerships and managing a diverse portfolio of accounts. They will have outstanding relationship building skills and excellent stakeholder management experience, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

• Building a healthy, robust pipeline of new business opportunities, to actively on-board new strategic partners.
• In collaboration with the Head of Partnerships and Events, refine and develop Kids’ proactive corporate prospecting approach, including improved ways of working with Kids’ service teams, with a view to increasing the sustainability of partnerships secured.
• On boarding new partners and leading on partnerships agreements and due diligence plus developing stewardship plans to ensure lasting mutually beneficial relationships.
• Delivering partnership activations and communications plans, collaborating with partners and internal Kids’ teams to identify key moments that will drive further engagement.
• Representing Kids at external partner and prospect events.

As a Chef you will be operating within one of two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings (Remembrance and Aspects) to supply catering across multiple outlets including self-serve 380 cover restaurant, table waited functions room up to 500, coffee shop, 'pop up Foodservice outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum and hospitality. We are open daily from 10:00 till 17:00 7 days a week, we do some bespoke evening events in our Aspects building throughout the year.

If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

• Consistently maintain high standards of food service and provision to meet the expectations of our visitors
• Adopt operational responsibility for one area within the kitchen (for example one of the preparation areas, baking, hot meal production, etc)

• To operate across two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings to supply a 380 cover self-serve restaurant, table waited functions room, events and functions hospitality, coffee shop, and 'pop up' outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum.

• Ensure that the methods of preparation and presentation comply with the standards set by the Executive Head Chef
• Ensure that all areas within the kitchen and dining room areas are clean and tidy at all times, and all relevant documentation is up to date
• Daytime and evening Events catering up to and including formal banqueting for up to 500 attendees

You will have experience of working as a Chef in a busy kitchen together with a catering qualification and food hygiene training.  Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential together with the ability to work under pressure. 

You will be working 5 days out of 7 with the occasional evening work at events.

• Events: Support the delivery of organisational events and attend relevant external events to promote our programme delivery and our philanthropy advice offers.
• Video editing and creation: Develop our capacity to produce our own video content to support our marketing and communications activities.
• External suppliers: Liaise with printers, web agency, caterers and other suppliers when required.
• Contribute as a team member to the overall development of the Community Foundation.

This is a full-time (Monday - Friday working 9am - 5pm) position and with opportunities for hybrid working with some time each week in our office in central Devizes. We’re looking for a communications officer to assist the communications team in delivering Spinal Injuries Association’s (SIA) strategy to further enhance SIA’s standing as the expert guiding voice for life after spinal cord injury.

In close collaboration with the digital communications coordinator, you will help make our website the go-to, accessible source of information and support for the spinal cord injured community. You will also support in executing SIA's social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure impact and reach.

Duties include

• Be proactive in working with departments across the charity to generate diverse and compelling digital content that engages and informs our audiences, ensuring consistency and alignment with tone of voice and brand guidelines.
• Support with implementing the necessary changes to enable the website to achieve accessibility accreditation.

Training and Education Lead

Position: Training and Education Lead: Parental Cover (8 months)

Location: London/Hybrid

About the role:

This role is for an events person who can support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. There is an agreed schedule for the rest of 2024 for our public (open) training plus some bespoke, in-house training to be agreed upon with clients. There will also be additional in-house training to be secured for the remainder of 2024 and the first part of 2025.

The role holder will work within our professional development team, headed up by the director of professional development. They will report directly to the director and work alongside other team members to deliver an effective apprenticeship programme.

Our working pattern is hybrid, with attendance in the office expected for three days per week, including every Wednesday. You may also be expected to attend events across the UK and overseas.

Key responsibilities include:

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet the agreed requirements and budget, liaising with the DPD as required.
• Organise and attend volunteer Working Party meetings as required.
• Working with the volunteers, external suppliers and DPD, ensure all requirements are clearly defined, appropriate and in place for the course to be delivered.
• Liaise with suppliers and contributors to deliver and sign off the online activity.
• Work with the DPD and others to identify potential speakers.
• Support the DPD to negotiate and agree contracts with speakers.
• Work with clients and speakers to agree on delivery dates.
• Process bookings via iMIS, including sending confirmations to delegates.
• Respond to queries from potential delegates and their employers.
• Support current delegates with queries on their programme and progress.
• Work with the DPD and Financial Controller to put together the draft budget for specific events, bursary scheme, or online development activities.
• Supply up-to-date information on the bursary holder’s progress and course uptake to inform budgetary, marketing, and other management decisions.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need experience managing events (face to face and hybrid) including liaising with speakers and managing the technology. You will be able to work with colleagues to identify and contact potential speakers. You will also be able to manage the budget for the course delivery. To be successful at the organisation, you will need to be able to work in a small team, be flexible in accommodating changing priorities and thrive in an ever-changing environment.

You will also bring with you the following skills and experience:

• A qualification or experience in event management including online and bespoke courses.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to multitask.
• Excellent oral and written English.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills including record-keeping and attention to detail.

As Complex Needs Practitioner you will engage young people in a variety of interventions, using a person-centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

Birmingham Young People’s Service provides holistic support services for young people 10 to 25 with needs related to alcohol and substance misuse, including those that are affected by a family members alcohol and substance misuse.

All Complex Needs Practitioners are expected to work days, evenings, and weekends across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, when required. Which will need a flexible working pattern from the successful candidate. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health, social care, education, youth provision, and criminal justice.

As an energetic and confident self-starter, you will have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above, Dip SW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the health & social care field, education settings, alcohol, and substance misuse fields with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.

Purpose of the role

One of the core elements of this work is the production of the Freedom of Thought Report. The Report examines every country in the world for its record on upholding the rights and equality for non-religious people. We consider issues of legal discrimination and outright persecution and violence. The Report is essential to our awareness-raising efforts of the persecution faced by the non-religious.

Humanists International is embarking on a 2-year programme of work in order to realize some long-term improvements to the Freedom of Thought Report. We are looking for an enthusiastic research coordinator to join our team and participate in all stages of the publication process.

As a research coordinator you will support the Casework & Campaigns Manager to administer, plan and produce the Freedom of Thought Report, providing evidenced-based research to shape and influence human rights policy as it pertains to the non-religious.

This is a predominantly home-based role, but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building, as required.

Key duties

• Collaborating with the Casework & Campaigns Manager to research, plan, and deliver the Report’s production on an annual basis;

The Food bank Campaign Coordinator is responsible for delivering Trussell Trust’s influencing and mobilising work, in their target area, during the General Election. You will do this by building strong relationships with other food banks in your Parliamentary constituency areas of Rhondda and Ogmore, Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan.  Campaign Coordinators implement Trussell Trust’s national General Election strategy, by using organising techniques to put pressure on PPC’s in each Parliamentary constituency.

You will build and lead local community teams who support ending the need for foodbanks, securing commitments from your PPC’s to ‘prioritise the problem of people going without essentials if re/elected, acknowledging the role social security needs to play in tackling it.’

This role is funded by the Trussell Trust as part of their General Election strategy, and you will be part of a network of Campaign Coordinators around the UK doing this work. You will be the link between your food bank(s) and the Mobilisation team at Trussell Trust, as we build a movement to end the need for food banks.

Responsibilities of Campaign Coordinator:

· To build trusted relationships with food banks during (pre and post) UK General Election. You will hold 1:1 conversations with each food bank in your allocated area and ensure there is clear communication between the food banks.
 

· To support teams of community volunteers. You will have 1:1s with: food bank staff, volunteers, interested individuals, partner organisations and stakeholders in each community to develop community bases for your campaign work.

· To lead effective door-knocking teams in your community.  You will door knock with your community campaign team to drum up support for the campaign, provide members of the public literature on Food bank use in their local community, and invite people to their local hustings.
 

· To help each of your community campaign teams organise a local husting.  You will ensure that your community campaign teams: attend national Trussell Trust webinars, receive national guidance on how to approach PPC’s, understand the Trussell Trust legal GE guidance, understand the logistics of organising a hustings, ensure that the husting is accessible as possible and ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are heard through the hustings.
 

· To develop good relationships with local press and media outlets. You will work alongside national Trussell Truststaff to find key press and media contacts in your assigned area, ensuring your community campaign teams get coverage for their hard work.
 

· To deliver the local campaigning strategy working with food bank staff, volunteers and clients. 
 

· To work with the Organising and Local Mobilisation team in Trussell Trust and engage with the training and support on offer, including work with other Campaign Coordinators in the Trussell Trust network.

Job Purpose: The project aims to deliver a range of trauma-informed learning and development opportunities to women impacted by the criminal justice system. Delivered in our Manchester and Trafford women’s centres, these gender responsive activities, co-produced with women with lived experience, will provide personal and practical skill development that meets their needs and supports their aspirations around employment or education, including a focus on wellbeing and practical learning.

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Co-ordinate and deliver a schedule of trauma informed and gender responsive workshops that aim to address wellbeing and reduce barriers women impacted by the CJS face in accessing employment or education opportunities.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, such as lived experience groups, education, training and employment networks and local services.
4. Create opportunities for women impacted by the criminal justice system to input into the programme, such as co-production, and peer supporters

The Role

The Safeguarding Lead will bring their extensive knowledge and experience to this role to offer the highest level of support for LE staff and all of our client groups (including children, young people and adults). There would be a requirement to take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the Organisation and take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings.

They will advise, train, and support all members of staff on risk, incident, safeguarding, and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant third-party agencies such as the local authority and police.

Main areas of responsibility include:

• To act as a source of support, advice, and expertise in managing safeguarding and clinical issues for LE staff.
• To be fully equipped to independently manage clinical risk safely and in line with all LE policies and procedures, in consultation with the member of staff raising a safeguarding concern.
• Coordinate the safe check-in and check-out of all clinical staff scheduled to work during the shift.

• Support staff during the referral, triage and assessment process
• Liaise with the SMT and the local authority designated officer(s) (LADO) for child protection concerns in cases which concern a staff member

• Report cases to the police where a crime may have been committed
