Job Description

Housing Needs Manager,
£25.00 p/h (£28.00 LTD)

We are looking for a Housing Needs Manager for an interim opportunity working for the local authority based in Abingdon, Oxford.

The role is to take the lead on the management of the councils housing needs team, managing the performance of the whole service including policies, budgets, complaints, staffing and housing needs issues.

Key responsibilities include

> Have management responsibility for 2 team leaders who manage a staff team of 18
> Ensuring that the service is compliant with all relevant legislation
> Ensure that policies and procedures are in place for the team and are followed correctly
> Act as the lead project officer for service development and new initiatives
> Monitoring, reporting and benchmarking the performance of the team against a range of targets, including taking corrective action as required
> Act as specialist adviser on all housing needs related matters for the team and to the Head of Service
> Liaison with members including writing committee reports and presenting at committee meetings

We are looking for an experienced housing professional with very strong management and leadership skills, who is able to work on an operational and strategic level.

The role is full time on an interim 36 month contract however this role could lead to a permanent opportunity.
