Contract: 51 week fixed term contract
Hours: 30-35 hours per week
Community organisers is a government funded scheme which aims to train 5,000 community organisers to work with local communities around the country to bring people together to help build stronger and more resilient communities.
Kingsgate Community Association is recruiting 3 Trainee Community Organisers who will work with communities in the Kilburn ward of Camden to support local people to tackle issues which are important to them and help to build and strengthen local networks in order to achieve this.
If you have a positive and optimistic outlook, are open-minded and able to challenge your own and others’ attitudes and assumptions then this is the role for you. The successful candidates will be people focused, respectful and be willing to train and work differently to support transformational change in individuals, communities and institutions.

Closing date for application: Monday, February 3rd 2014
Shortlisting will be take place week commencing February 10th. Candidates who are successfully shortlisted will then be required to attend an assessment centre in Bristol on February 19th (expenses paid). Candidates will then be invited to a final interview at Kingsgate Community Centre.
You will also be required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) check. Please note that an offence does not necessarily exclude you from being a successful Trainee Community Organiser.
