Job DescriptionThe National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) is seeking a Trust and Grants Fundraiser to join a small proactive fundraising team working with a UK wide focus on a part time basis (3 full days per week). A keen eye for detail and using one’s own initiative is crucial and although experience in making trust applications is ideal, it is not essential. Those with research skills and the ability to produce compelling copy will also be considered.
To work as part of the fundraising team to secure income from trusts and grant making authorities. To be responsible for managing deadlines for applications and reporting.
The Fundraising strategy is in place and trust income is a vital part of this as the charity expands. The Trust & Grant Fundraiser will be responsible for contributing to this development and strategy as we move forward towards achieving our target income of £1.4m by 2016.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To expand the trust and grant fundraising base to support the charity as it grows through writing compelling applications to secure new and follow on funding.
To identify new funding opportunities through research and act upon these and manage a clear reporting structure to ensure all applications and follow up reports are sent on time.
To identify possible award applications and make the Fundraising Manager aware of these and the criteria for application.
To ensure statistics and information from each part of the charity is kept up to date for use in applications and external reports and prepare reports, statistics, tables and graphs for internal quarterly reports.
To be responsible for ensuring all donor records are updated and maintained on the database, donors are thanked promptly and payments are processed efficiently.
To support the Fundraising Manager in achieving targets set in the Fundraising strategy and contribute to the overall efficient operation of the fundraising department.
To participate in NRAS team training and contribute to team activities
To attend regular team meetings and individual supervision on a monthly basis
To undertake any other duties as requested by a manager consistent with the role
To be prepared to travel and work out of hours if required
To maintain a standard of dress that is appropriate to the role
To maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure respect for all other members of staff
Interviews will be held on the week commencing Monday 10th March.
