WDC, Whale and Dolphin Conservation has ambitious new 10-year goals aimed at achieving our vision of a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free.
We have been successfully diversifying our income as our development team harnesses the growing interest in conservation, the environment, and the emerging understanding of the role whales and dolphins play as nature-based solutions to the climate and nature emergencies.
We have high retention rates from our loyal individual donors, and a strong track record of nurturing successful and innovative corporate partnerships. We are increasing income from trusts, foundations, and philanthropy, and have identified enormous potential for growth in these areas.
We are now looking for an ambitious fundraiser to help take us to the next level, building on a solid foundation of support and goodwill to secure the resources we need to achieve our organisational goals, and providing inspiring leadership to our talented team of fundraisers.

We are excited to seek a new Chief Executive Officer to provide leadership, vision, development and direction to our impactful and dynamic work. Youth Realities has substantial growth potential, and would benefit from an influential leader to shape and deliver a new strategy to increase our impact, income and partnerships.
This is an inspiring position that requires deep alignment with our vision and values. As an organisation almost exclusively supporting young women and girls, the trustees are encouraging applications from candidates that identify as women.
Contract: Permanent, subject to a five-month probationary period
Hours: full-time, 28-35 hours per week. Youth Realities hosts a fortnightly 4-day working week policy.
Location: Hybrid working, with in-person requirements from Youth Realities’ office in Colindale (NW9 5XW) and attending events where required in London.
Salary: £46,800 - this is based on current resource and trustees are open to salary increases as funding becomes available.
Start date: August 2024.
Key attributes and experience for the role includes:
- Experience working within the VAWG, youth and/or domestic abuse sector, or an excellent understanding of VAWG/ domestic abuse/ teenage relationship abuse
- Track record of successful leadership in a senior role
- Strategic, creative and operational thinking
- Ability to form and sustain trusted relationships with partners, funders and stakeholders
- A dynamic and positive attitude when responding to challenging and changing circumstances
- Willing and able to be a core team member, contributing where required to wider operational attainment.
Founded in 2016 and formally established in 2017, Youth Realities is a specialist youth and survivor-led charity supporting young people, primarily young women and girls aged 11-25, impacted by teenage relationship abuse.
Our vision is a world where young people live free from relationship abuse and violence.
Our mission is to end relationship abuse and violence by working with young people to provide specialist spaces for prevention, intervention and healing.

Interview dates: Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th, Thursday 30th and Friday 31st May 2024. Interviews will consist of 3 components, an interview with core staff and trustees, a site visit and a panel with young people. Therefore, applicants will be required to attend between 2:00pm - 5:30pm.
Outcome date: w/c 3rd June 2024
Start date: by w/c August 5th 2024, earlier start dates are encouraged and late start dates can be discussed.

Associate Director, London

Location: Central Cambridge with frequent travel to London
Salary: £45,585 - £57,696 per annum
Development and Alumni Relations is expanding, and the Associate Director, London is a key appointment. You will work to build and strengthen our networks of alumni and supporters in London, where many of the University's most important and longstanding supporters are based. You will have the opportunity to work on six- and seven-figure gifts, securing philanthropic support for priorities across the Collegiate University, such as building a new Children's Hospital, ensuring global food security, powering a zero-carbon future, protecting endangered ecosystems, understanding the implications of AI, and ensuring everyone has access to world-leading education, regardless of background.
You will be part of the International and Regional Team, reporting to the Head of Development, London. You will work with academics across the full breadth of the Collegiate University, giving you an opportunity to pursue truly donor-led major gift fundraising. In a team and University characterised by ambition and the pursuit of excellence, you will find yourself among academic and development colleagues who are among the very best in the business.
You will be a talented major gifts fundraiser or equivalent who wants to secure gifts at the transformational level. You will be a self-starter, collaborative, robust, innovative in approach and a great communicator. Key to your success will be the ability to engage with high-net-worth individuals and senior academic and administrative staff across Collegiate Cambridge.

This role is based in central Cambridge - we are open to hybrid working which can be discussed at interview.
The postholder will need to be able to travel frequently to the London area as well as occasionally travel within the UK.

Second round interviews are anticipated to take place the week commencing the 20th of May.
