About the role
Philanthropic income is a critical element of ClientEarth’s fundraising mix, especially its role in securing significant unrestricted income. Starting with a historically UK-centric philanthropy portfolio, our philanthropy team now works with supporters across Europe, US and Australia.
We are now looking to hire a new Lead role to drive forward our philanthropy programme across Europe. In this role, you will be responsible for setting strategic direction and promoting excellence management of your own portfolio of donors. You will be responsible for growing existing income streams, managing our Europe-based fundraisers and identifying new European philanthropic opportunities.
Main Duties
- Management of personal fix, six figure+ portfolio
- Manage relationships with senior internal stakeholders
- Develop and implement the Europe philanthropy strategy
- Develop KPIs and financial targets for the philanthropy team
- Support new fundraising focused geographic markets

Role requirements
- Significant philanthropy management experience of being an active fundraiser and working with complex funders with demonstrable experience of securing five and six figure, and multi year gifts
- Experience in multiple elements of philanthropy fundraising including identifying and building supporter bases in new geographies
- Excellent knowledge of donor and pipeline management and financial processes
- Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives and ability to convene colleagues internally and ensure delivery of workstreams

Having already raised £9.9 million for our Up Against Time Appeal, London’s Air Ambulance Charity is currently in the final phase of our campaign to raise £15million by September 2024 to replace our two helicopters. We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
As the Head of Relationship Fundraising at Centrepoint, you will be a pivotal member of our Fundraising Leadership Team (FLT), spearheading the strategic direction and expansion of our high-value giving portfolio. Managing a dedicated team of 18 fundraisers, you will lead the charge in driving growth across Corporate Partnerships, Philanthropy, Trusts, Foundations, and Government Funding streams. With a focus on nurturing long-term relationships, you will oversee the delivery of £6.4 million in income for FY2024-2025.

- Crafting and executing a dynamic Relationship Fundraising strategy, fostering collaborative efforts across teams to maximize the potential of high-value income streams.

About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 13 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£8-9 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.
Impetus is driven by a shared belief in tackling the barriers that hold back young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in education and employment. Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. About this role
We are seeking a maternity cover Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager – someone who is a talented and ambitious fundraiser who will join the Impetus Philanthropy Team and have responsibility for building new partnerships and stewarding existing ones.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to make a compelling case for change and write and speak persuasively with major donors, corporate partners, and trusts at the six figure level and beyond to ensure we can deliver our mission: helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to succeed at school, work and in life.
You will be a strong team player, with a collaborative working style. You will be eager to build and manage new and complex partnerships and to advance the Philanthropy Team’s strategic objectives more broadly.
Key responsibilities
- Build and deliver new six figure+ partnerships from Grant Making Trusts and Foundations (GMTs), corporates, co-investment partners and individual philanthropists.
- Work collaboratively with the Development Directors to create and implement a plan for building new partnerships and reporting on progress against the plan.
- Manage a portfolio of active prospects and donors, including co-investment partnerships.
- Build high-level relationships with prospects, maximising opportunities to secure new and higher levels of income.
- Maintain strong, high-level, and long-term relationships with donors to Impetus, while identifying opportunities for further referrals to new prospects and partners.
- Manage co-investment partnerships, working closely across the organisation with Investment Directors and the Policy team, as well as externally with charity partners and their leadership teams to draw on a range of assets to provide excellent stewardship to Impetus’s highest value supporters.
- Build strong relationships externally with senior staff and leadership teams in Impetus’s portfolio charities to support them in pitching for co-investment funding, reporting and stewardship of co-investment partnerships.
- Leverage the contacts of Trustees and pro-bono supporters to good effect.
- Provide support and meticulous follow-up to the Chair, Trustees, Committee Members, and senior management of Impetus to encourage introductions to potential sources of giving and to ensure their successful involvement in the fundraising process.
- Ensure all communication with external stakeholders is prompt, clear and compelling, which includes testing and honing materials to improve the fundraising ask and stewardship strategies.
- Ensure prospect and donor activity and reporting for your portfolio is accurately captured on our CRM system (Salesforce).
- Support the Development Directors and the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships in the wider operational and strategic development of the Philanthropy Team and on major partnerships that they manage.

Person specification
Essential
- A track record of raising six figure grants from grant-making trusts and foundations, corporate foundations and/or individuals
- The ability to lead, direct and personally work through the fundraising cycle with donors
- Strategic thinking, planning and delivery – with an ability to generate concepts and ideas, translate them into tangible tactics and execute them independently
- Excellent research and prospecting skills
- Ability to take a pro-active, creative, innovative approach to fundraising and the ability to think laterally
- Experience of operating with senior staff, including trustees and external stakeholders
- Excellent relationship skills to establish and maintain contacts with key internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to work collaboratively to maintain effective relationships

- To work alongside the support team in England, Phase I and to build on the reputation of 2wish
- Research, approach and engage community groups and local supporters using mechanisms for engaging their support to develop additional sources of income

- To attend community and networking events where necessary

About the role:
You will be raising money to support research; to enable students from around the world and from every background to come and study at Oxford; and to help promote the public understanding of Physics. You will work closely with the Head of Physics, as well as some of the most inspiring scientists in the world, and will forge relationships with existing and new donors to the department. While an interest in science is essential, you do not need to be a Physics graduate, just an enthusiast for knowledge.

About the role and team
Working within the wider Supporter Acquisition and Retention teams, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging onboarding journeys for Shelter supporters, ensuring engagement is high throughout. 2. Job Description
The Head of External Engagement is a key leadership post within the organisation. The role encompasses responsibility for the development and delivery of the organisation’s external activity, including profile, brand identity and stakeholder engagement (including the public), fundraising, and driving income generation in new areas, notably commercial partnerships. It also forms part of Sound and Music’s senior management team, who under the leadership of the Chief Executive are responsible for overseeing the organisation’s programme of activity, strategic development, external profile and a positive and productive organisational culture.
An experienced fundraiser and communicator, you will lead the external engagement team and support the delivery of its strategic and operational plans. The broad remit of the role means the successful candidate will be a strong and confident communicator who builds networks easily and prioritises exceptional stakeholder management and relationship development.
Sound and Music operates a hybrid working model with a mix of in person and remote working, so we welcome applications from anywhere in the UK. Our office is in London and the minimum requirement will be to attend one day per week.

3. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and management
External leadership:
· Represent Sound and Music publicly, including through stakeholder and supporter events
· Work with the Head of Programmes to ensure Sound and Music’s advisory groups are meaningfully engaged
· Be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for Sound and Music
Internal leadership:
· Shared strategic responsibility and accountability for Sound and Music’s three core aims and their associated objectives, outcomes and outputs
· Shared accountability (with other senior management colleagues) for the successful delivery and implementation of the organisation’s Business Plan
· Lead the organisation’s External Engagements team. This team includes a Communications and Insights Manager and Fundraising Coordinator (both line managed by the Head of External Engagement) plus support from other Sound and Music team members
Development and fundraising
· Develop and support the Chief Executive on the overall business and development strategy for the organisation to ensure we meet fundraising targets (£200k in 2024-25) for annual programmes and major projects
· Develop an ambitious fundraising programme which builds our supporter base and individual funding streams, including individuals, major gifts and public funders
· Drive income growth by identifying and negotiating commercial partnerships and contribute to the development of an enhanced commercial mindset across the organisation
· Develop and cultivate the existing trusts and foundations pipeline
· Prepare documents and reports for key funders including Arts Council England
· Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with key funders, commercial organisations and stakeholders and cultivate existing relationships within the organisation
· Establish new income streams, for example, by maximising the intellectual property created within the organisation
· Engage the Board of Trustees and senior management team in fundraising activities and the ongoing strategy to optimise donor management and stewardship to develop a culture of fundraising across the organisation
· Maximise the opportunities provided by the new CRM system and contribute to the development of a data-led mindset across the organisation
Communications and campaigns
· Develop and lead the overall communications and reputation management strategy for varied stakeholders to ensure we increase our visibility and influence in the sector
· Support the Chief Executive to build the profile of our brand, drive the media messaging and oversee and power our content media campaigns
· Support the Chief Executive to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with government and culture and media opinion formers
Strategy and planning
· Work with the Chief Executive and other senior management team members to monitor, evaluate and review KPIs, strategies and activity so as to maximise Sound and Music’s impact. This includes reporting and presenting to the Board and externally to help build engagement and relationships in the sector and with funders
· Assess the reputational, financial, delivery and other risks associated with current and new projects and partnerships
· Empower, model, support and encourage cross-team working to realise the full income generating possibilities of projects
Finance and governance
· Contribute to creating and monitoring the overall organisation budget
· Work closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Programmes and Finance Manager to formulate financial strategy against specified budget areas, and to ensure that the programme activity is sufficiently resourced, planned and delivered to budget
· Ensure close monitoring of income and expenditure for relevant budget lines and contribute to senior management team financial planning and review
· Attend Board and Financial Subcommittee meetings to present and report impact on a quarterly basis
Special conditions of the post
· Travel within the UK, as required by the role
