My client is a major brand in the international development sector, fighting for human rights. As part of the organisation’s ongoing growth plans, they are currently in the process of a large scale Process improvement programme. This has led to a need to recruit a project accountant in support of this ambitious plan. As the Project Accountant you will work closely with the regional teams to ensure a more comprehensive purchase order system.
Key areas of responsibilities;
- Engage with and consider the needs of a broad range of stakeholders, to develop timely, accurate and efficient financial management information.
- Consider current technical functionality and whether any additional software is required to meet the financial reporting needs of the organisation.
- Enable project-based reporting, working in collaboration with the Head of Planning and the Data and Insight Team to integrate financial data with information on staff time and qualitive information to support analysis of how resources are employed to achieve impact in our work.
- Develop purchase order functionality and workflows within X-Ledger.
- Review and update the suite of financial policy and procedures impacted by the change including Procurement, Contract Approval and Financial Delegations.
- Engage with stakeholders to launch the purchase order system and support the wider organisation through this period of change.
Who are we looking for?
- A formally qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience accountant with relevant experience of accounting gained in a large, complex organisation (this could be commercial, Not-for-Profit or practice)
- An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organisation
- Analytical with good judgement and decision making capability

As a mental health content specialist, you will play a key role in creating new, valuable mental health-related content aimed at reducing panic and anxiety for users of our app. You will play a key role in informing the overall direction of our mental health app to ensure that we are providing evidence-based support for anxiety and panic.
The role will entail taking on responsibility for the content of our app, Mind Ease. This includes:
- Creating a plan for how we better support users around panic and anxiety through our app, based on evidence-based techniques and informed by the needs of our users
- Communicating best practice around treating anxiety and panic to our small team of non-clinicians
- Writing snappy and engaging psychoeducational activities to add to our library of in-app content. Adapting these activities based on feedback from users and the team.
- Conducting research to inform the app direction, including brief literature reviews, interviews/surveys with app users, and referencing data on how users engage with the app
- If needed, writing blog articles or social media posts around anxiety and panic to be published on our website
Mandatory requirements for this role:
- Well-read and knowledgeable about best practices in mental health generally, with deep understanding of panic and anxiety specifically
- An excellent writer, with a friendly and clear style
- Able to translate complicated ideas into easily-accessible language
- Comfortable working autonomously, with little direct supervision
- Experience working clinically with people experiencing anxiety or panic
- A clinical qualification in mental health (DClinPsy, Masters with therapeutic qualification, IAPT practitioner, etc)

- Have a strong clinical or academic background around providing support for anxiety, panic or other common mental health problems. Ideally you will have experience working with people to overcome panic.

- Understand the role of research in developing user-focused support for anxiety, including an understanding of when to reference academic literature and when to gather direct feedback from users
- Are able to flexibly adapt your clinical thinking to suit a mobile app context. This includes thinking about how to deliver content in a fun way, while balancing the needs of app users, business priorities and best practice.
- Are a true team player - collaborative, pragmatic and solution-focused
- Thrive in creative, scrappy, ambiguous environments, where you’ll work closely with a small team of engineers, marketers and the CEO to achieve short-term and long-term goals
- You have past experience working for a start-up or in a digital health field
The pay for this role is £25 per hour. We estimate there would be 10-20 hours of work per week, but the exact number of hours and working times are flexible to suit the right candidate. We’re open to remote work but have a strong preference for someone who is open to collaborative working in-person in London, at least some of the time.

Role
This is a generalist HR role, were you will be completing tasks such as collating information, processing monthly payroll, drafting correspondence, managing employees mandatory checks, as well as supporting the starters and leavers process
Duties
- Being first point of contact for all payroll queries.
- Managing and processing payroll on a monthly basis.
- Liaising with HR team and Employees/ Managers in regard to any payroll queries.
- Liaising with external payroll company.
- Keeping track and monitoring employee mandatory checks
- Drafting any change of terms letters, probation letters, supporting in investigation meeting as required
- Drafting invitation letters to meetings
- Providing support with starters and leavers process.
- Responding to resignation letters, calculating leave allowances and providing references where needed.
- Carrying out HR Induction for all new starters.
- Supporting with booking in employee training and employee training requests
- Providing support with recruitment as required
- Support with ER cases where necessary.
- Writing general HR correspondence
- Supporting the HR team with responses to queries and general HR admin tasks.

We have two Individual Giving Manager vacancies within the mental health sector. These are newly created roles at separate but connected charities.
One is with the umbrella charity and the other is with one of their member charities. Reporting into the same Head of Individual Giving, each role will lead its own charity in developing income from individual giving.
The umbrella charity is a younger charity in operation for 7 years, and they are about to launch a product linked to women’s health and mental health – a sector leading step for them.
The member charity has been in existence for around 50 years and supports people severely affected by mental illness. They have a loyal support base which is cash-led.
The roles will need the same skill set from individual giving experts but will have their own nuances and differences. The roles are fully responsible for all individual giving activity, with income of c.£300,000 a year for each charity.
Both charities are in the investment stage of developing the programmes and there will be opportunity for creative and innovation on both programmes.
There is an individual giving officer for each role that will report to each manager.
As both programmes are developing there is the need to keep improving on processes, reporting and systems.

Management Accountant

Our client is an internationally recognised heritage not-for-profit organisation that are looking for a management accountant to join their team with a focus on supporting month end processes and improving stakeholder relations. Our client is fully open to sector experience and committed to delivering a first-class training and induction programme. As such we welcome candidates from industry, charity or practice backgrounds.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Support the month end process, taking responsibility for key processes and analysis. Work closely with budget holders and analysing variances to budget.
- Prepare centralised month end reporting (e.g. Headcount monitoring, Commitment reporting) to provide relevant information to the team, with responsibility for ensuring analysis is clear and well understood.
- Assist with the budgeting and reforecasting process, working with budget holders to develop departmental plans and develop budgets.
- Provide more detailed analysis of historic and expected spending trends to support decision making for senior stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis.
- Support the preparation of Business cases, providing financial modelling and analysis.
- Support the Finance Business Partner Manager and Senior Management accountants in the production of key month end reports, suggesting and implementing changes to the reporting process to simplify month end.
