Battersea is undertaking a transformational data strategy programme (known as Launchpad) aiming to transform how we collect, store and use information and data about our animals and supporters. As well as moving all of our data onto a new custom designed single system, we’re seeking to build the skills of our colleagues so that we’re ready to use our new system and make best use of the information we have to be a more data driven and insight led organisation.

This newly created role will work with key stakeholders across the charity to drive transformation and deliver the desired business outcomes and benefits relating to Launchpad, and be responsible for leading and executing the people and culture workstreams and other strategic change initiatives to support interconnected projects to achieve successful implementation and benefits realisation of this programme.

The role holder will be a great collaborator and influencer and will have the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to manage & deliver complex projects in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines.

The Death Penalty Project is recruiting a project manager to join our team. We're looking for a self-started with experience of managing donor-funded projects and a passion for human rights. We are open to flexible working requests.

The Death Penalty Project (DPP) is a is a legal action NGO with special consultative status before the United Nations Economic and Social Council. We provide free representation to people facing the death penalty worldwide, with a focus on the Commonwealth. We use the law to protect those facing execution and promote fair criminal justice systems, where the rights of all people are respected.

We believe the death penalty is a cruel and inhuman punishment that discriminates against the poorest and most disadvantaged members of society. We want to see it consigned to history.

What we do:

We represent and assist those facing the death penalty and other cruel punishments, free of charge.

We deliver targeted and practical capacity building to judges, lawyers, mental health professionals, and others working within the criminal justice system.

We commission original research and publish training resources that challenge misconceptions and deepen understanding around the death penalty.

We engage with governments, policymakers, and other key stakeholders in a constructive dialogue on how abolition of the death penalty can be achieved.

The Role:

Reports to: Deputy Director

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the coordination of ongoing project activities, including the commissioning and publishing of research, training and capacity building plans, and advocacy and engagement efforts.
• Manage donor-funded grants, to ensure agreed objectives and deadlines are met.
• Produce high-quality narrative reports to funders in line with donor requirements, and coordinate with the Deputy Director for the development of accurate donor financial reports.
• Produce and maintain up-to-date project documents and tools, such as project delivery workplans and country information sheets.
• Draft other documents as required, such as briefing notes, memoranda and/or letters for advocacy and engagement efforts.

• Maintain active relationships with project partners involved in research, capacity building and/or engagement activities, as well as manage any contracts for services that may be required for the delivery of projects, such as audits or evaluations.

• Keep up to date on relevant political developments in our priority geographies and brief other members of the team as needed.
• Proactively develop ideas for project activities that advance DPP’s mission and strategy in our priority geographies.
• Work closely with Communications colleagues to develop and feature impact data and stories that highlight our research, capacity building, and advocacy work on DPP’s website and social media.
• Contribute to the drafting of concept notes, project proposals or other funding applications, where needed.
• Provide line management and support to project interns and volunteers, when applicable.

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential:

• At least five years of relevant experience in the non-profit and / or human rights sector
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a strong track record of producing high quality donor reports and/or briefing documents
• Experience managing logframes and/or other monitoring and evaluation frameworks
• Experience managing EU and/or FCDO-funded projects, or similar
• A self-starter that enjoys working in a small team, with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines, and with a range of responsibilities
• A strong interest in human rights issues related to The Death Penalty Project’s work
• Permission to live and work in the UK

Desirable:

• Knowledge and understanding of international human rights law and related issues, or strong desire to learn

The Head of Project Development is a new and pivotal role within the organisation that will bridge the gap between our fundraising efforts and the development and implementation of projects. This strategic position is focused on developing new projects based on clear evidence of need and alignment with PCR’s mission and priorities, as well as enhancing the case for existing projects. The role will work in collaboration with the delivery and partnerships team to develop cases for support and secure substantial funding to ensure we can continue to expand and deliver impactful, sustainable projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding our operational capacity, initiating innovative projects, and contributing significantly to our growth targets for impact and the associated income to achieve this.

• Project Development and Management: Spearhead the development of new projects and work alongside fundraising to develop bids to support existing initiatives, ensuring alignment with PCR’s strategic goals and funding opportunities. 

• Fundraising Support: Collaborate closely with the fundraising team to identify and secure funding from large statutory sources, including but not limited to the likes of the National Lottery Community Fund, NHS, NIHR, and Sports England.

About the role

You will be responsible for the design, development and iterative delivery of a portfolio of projects to inform, inspire and support 11-14 year olds to ultimately progress into engineering and technology. Currently, these projects are Energy Quest and Climate Schools Programme which provide in-school workshops, teacher materials and resources for school clubs. You will ensure that these projects and newly developed projects have career messages embedded and respond to both evidence and need ensuring our work responds to the changing needs of young people, schools and industry and specifically has an impact on those currently underrepresented in the industry. You will ensure that the work in your portfolio aligns and links to all EUK’s products and services for schools and build strategic partnerships with external organisations to enhance the design and delivery of the programmes.
 

The engagement projects delivered by your team are dependent on external fundraising, so you will work closely with our Business and Industry team who lead on fundraising, supporting the bid writing and pitch process. You will also work closely with colleagues from across the rest of EngineeringUK, including our evaluation, communications teams, and oversee the management of external partners responsible for delivering the projects.
 

The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK. We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames. Jangala is seeking a proven and inspiring Head of Programmes to design, implement, assess and refine our impactful and scalable internet connectivity initiatives in the UK and around the world. This role is pivotal in achieving Jangala’s ambitious goal of connecting underserved communities to the internet, empowering individuals and reducing the global digital divide. 

Our new Head of Programmes will oversee our existing and future connectivity projects, including the deployment of 5,000 Get Boxes in the UK to address the digital divide and our growing number of Big Box projects worldwide that connect essential education, health, and community resilience hubs.

Details of the role

As the Head of Programmes, you will play a central role in Jangala’s evolution at this important juncture, developing programmes that enable our partners to access critical internet access and connectivity. Your work will ensure that our programmes are accessible, robust, scalable and ultimately impactful. You will manage a small, dedicated and growing team, engage with our deployment partners, and ensure the success of our on-the-ground projects. Your leadership will help achieve Jangala’s ambitious impact targets providing meaningful connectivity to social impact projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities will include:

• The overall design, development and implementation of our UK and global programmes to connect people worldwide.

• Ensuring that our programmes are high-quality and impactful, delivering meaningful connectivity by implementing our M&E frameworks and conducting first level impact assessment

• Assuring the robustness of our programmes, by leading and developing our due diligence process - including in high-risk environments subject to special regulations and sanctions

• Working to make our programmes accessible and scalable, so that they can serve both major organisations and grassroots partners in line with Jangala’s principles of universal accessibility 

• Develop and maintain relationships with our key delivery partners across the UN, NGO and public sectors 

• Act as Jangala’s Safeguarding Lead, managing overall responsibility for Jangala’s safeguarding responsibilities to the people we support

• Building and leading a high-performing programmes team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

• Representing Jangala at key events, conferences, and meetings to enhance our visibility and opportunity for impact.

Important details

Jangala’s office is based in London and operates a remote-first working policy. Travel to our London office will be required for mind-mapping and collaborative work at least once a week.

The starting salary for this role is £48,000-£55,000 per annum, with consideration for part-time arrangements.

The Head of Policy, Campaigns and Public Affairs will work alongside the Director of Patient Projects and Influencing to spearhead our advocacy and influencing strategy, driving forward our agenda to transform prostate cancer advocacy and improve outcomes for people affected by prostate cancer. This strategic role involves building essential relationships with politicians and key stakeholders, increasing our organisational profile, and leveraging findings to advocate for policy changes. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Strategic Advocacy and Campaign Leadership: Develop and lead PCR’s campaign and public affairs activities, ensuring strategies are focussed on achieving meaningful policy and practice change on the highest priority issues, including screening and access to innovative and evolving treatment options. 

• Stakeholder Engagement: Forge strategic relationships and build our profile among politicians, policymakers, regulators and KoLs to enhance our impact and position Prostate Cancer Research as a source of trusted information for prostate cancer policy. 

• Shaping Policy: Coordinate responses to relevant consultations, such as government, MHRA, trade bodies, and NICE/SMC appraisals, where appropriate.

• Evidence-Based Advocacy: Utilise findings from funded reports, such as our Overtreatment/Overdiagnosis report and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), to advocate for change in screening and other relevant policies, and support/commission the development of further evidence as needed.

• Relationship Building and Event Coordination: Identify and cultivate potential parliamentary champions and supporters and host impactful events. 

• Patient Centricity: Ensure our patients remain at the centre of this work, putting structures in place for them to be involved in setting priorities, informing our policy positions with their lived experience, and advocating for change. 

• Policy Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor and analyse relevant healthcare policy in the UK to inform the organisation’s strategic development and seize on political opportunities.

Candidate Profile: 

Experience 

• Strong knowledge/experience of the health and social care sector, its public bodies, and key relevant policies 

• An excellent understanding of the UK political environmental, structures of government at national, local and devolved nation levels, with established relationships with key stakeholders or a proven ability to develop these efficiently and effectively. 

• Demonstrable experience in advocacy, public affairs, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful and integrated campaigns to change public policy. 

• Strong experience working cross-functionally within a fast-paced organisation.

The Gregory Centre for Church Multiplication (CCX) helps the Church make disciples in new and renewed ways. We work with willing partners across the Church to catalyse multiplication, equipping leaders through adaptive learning pathways.

We are an agile missional centre, on the edge of the institution. Our team seeks to be audacious, holding a God-shaped ambition; generous; and committed to working together.

CCX’s organisational structure is a hybrid management model, blending elements of both functional and project-based structures. Project teams are formed to address specific initiatives, tasks, or delivery projects. These teams are cross-functional, comprising individuals from different specialties, typically with a project manager working under the direction of a CCX lead. The two core teams of Operations and Media operate as shared services across the organisation.

Under the direction of the Bishop of Islington, a suffragan bishop of the London Diocese, CCX supports church planting and church growth work in London, nationally and beyond.
