As the Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will lead their impressive trusts, foundations, and statutory income streams which generates over £3 million annually. We’re seeking a driven, tenacious individual with a track record of securing 6- and 7-figure gifts to lead the growth-focused team.
You will work closely with the Delivery Directorate who lead on grant management and reporting. With a fundraising-positive approach from the department, you will work collaboratively with them to identify funding opportunities and to deliver excellent stewardship.
As Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will:
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the trusts, foundations and statutory strategy to grow both restricted and unrestricted income
- Develop and oversee a portfolio and pipeline of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders
- Write compelling funding proposals to engage new donors to give at the 6- and 7-figure level to ensure long term growth and sustainability
- Work collaboratively with the delivery teams to ensure effective grant management, stewardship and reporting for funders
- Work closely with the delivery teams to develop new projects and cases for support, and refine existing projects to meet the emerging needs of beneficiaries
- Develop engagement opportunities for prospective and warm funders to bring them closer to London Youth’s mission
- Provide management and direction for the team – including two Trusts and Foundations Managers
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proven success of securing 6 and 7-figure gifts from a range of trusts, foundations and statutory funders

The Protection in Emergencies Advisor will ensure an increased portfolio of quality programming in protection from violence in humanitarian crises. The role supports the scale-up of Plan UK’s humanitarian work by ensuring effective programme design and implementation in collaboration with the unit, the directorate, and colleagues globally. The post holder will actively support the identification of new funding opportunities, leveraging sector-wide stakeholder relationships and knowledge. You will provide technical advice to new programme development supporting team members to ensure proposals integrate Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) and Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies (GBViE) standards and best practices.
We are looking for candidates with significant experience providing Child Protection in Emergencies and Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies technical input to sector standards into the full project management cycle. The post holder needs to have experience working in various humanitarian crises and contexts including conflict and post-conflict settings. You will have a strong monitoring and evaluation background, with knowledge of approaches to measure changes related to protection, including experience designing theories of change and advising on the selection of log frame indicators.

About the Team:
The Global Assurance Team at WaterAid reports directly to the Chief Executive of WaterAid UK, with an independent reporting line to the Audit and Risk Committee. The team is made up of the following functions: Legal and Governance, Data Protection, Fundraising Compliance, Global Ethical Standards, and Internal Audit. The team is line-managed by the Global Assurance Director.
About the Role:
As our Legal Counsel you will report to the Head of Legal and support them in providing legal support to WaterAid in the UK.
In this role, you will provide sound and pragmatic legal advice to all levels of the organisation.
You'll also:
- Review and help to negotiate existing and new contracts, in particular supplier contracts and grant agreements, recognising and responding to the risks;
- contribute to the development and training of colleagues to drive best practise in contract management;
- respond to legal queries from across WaterAid; and
- maintain and develop the legal resources including agreement templates.
About You:
You will be a qualified solicitor (English law) with 2+ years PQE,
To be successful, you'll need:
- A combination of commercial and contract law experience gained in-house or in a pro-active private practice environment
- A proactive approach to identifying legal risks and providing pragmatic and balanced solutions, managing expectations;
- To display high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality at all times; and
- The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and supportively but assertively hold senior managers to account.
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- Awareness of relevant Charity and Company law and knowledge of best practice.
- Knowledge of the workings of the Charities Commission and the Fundraising Regulator.
- Experience in providing high-quality customer service to a diverse range of customers.
