Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, and as a member of the Senior Management Team, you will lead the organisation's fundraising strategy and team to secure significant, multi-year income from major donors, trusts and foundations and corporates. You’ll be responsible for expanding their funding base, deepening key relationships, and ensuring the organisation has the partnerships and resources to achieve its mission.
Fundraising has developed rapidly in recent years, with investment, board-level commitment and a growing team driving success. With strong foundations in place and a portfolio of high-value partnerships, there is an exciting opportunity to scale their strategic influence and deepen their impact.
We’re looking for a relationship-driven leader who will take an entrepreneurial approach to identifying opportunities for new funds and develop long-term, high-impact partnerships.
This is a hybrid but mostly home-based role, with monthly team meetings and occasional overnight stays at the N.England headquarters, and fortnightly attendance at the London office. All travel costs covered.
As Head of Fundraising, you will:
- Lead on fundraising strategy with major donors, trusts and foundations and corporates, focusing on driving new funder engagement and developing long-term, high-impact partnerships
- Secure high-value, multi-year funding partnerships with major donors, trusts and foundations and corporates, achieving six-figure and above income targets
- Manage, develop and inspire a team of five, fostering a proactive, collaborative, innovative and high-performing culture
- Build and maintain a strong, diversified pipeline of new and repeat funders aligned to organisational priorities and ethical fundraising principles
- Engage senior stakeholders including the CEO, Chair, Trustees and senior partners to unlock networks and open opportunities
- Work closely with programme and delivery teams to create compelling funding propositions and ensure excellent stewardship and impactful reporting
- Represent the organisation at senior-level networking events, conferences and sector forums, influencing decision-makers and strengthening brand positioning
Essential skills and experience:
- Success in securing and growing income from a range of sources, including HNWIs and trusts and foundations — delivering six-figure and multi-year partnerships
- Skilled relationship builder with experience developing and stewarding complex, multifaceted partnerships that deliver mutual value and long-term impact
- Strong managerial skills to empower teams and support their professional development and enjoyment in their role
- Strategic business developer with the ability to build and maintain a strong pipeline of funding opportunities, identifying, cultivating, and converting prospects to meet fundraising targets
- Entrepreneurial and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and the confidence to identify, shape, and present compelling cases for support
- Collaborative and influential, experienced in working across matrix structures and with remote or cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals, ensuring alignment and effective delivery
- Highly skilled communicator, comfortable presenting to diverse audiences and tailoring messages to inspire and engage at all levels
- Strong networker, eager to represent the organisation at events and conferences, identifying new opportunities, and staying informed on market trends and developments in the philanthropic and corporate partnership landscape
Desirable, but not essential:
- An understanding and general knowledge of the education landscape in the UK
- Experience of establishing or maintaining a Fellowship programme

The Head of Programming will set the creative direction for CST’s conference and events portfolio, shaping ideas, themes and experiences that resonate with school trust leaders. This role is responsible for turning complex issues — in education, public service and wider society — into compelling, well-crafted programmes that feel distinctive, relevant and worth attending.
The Head of Programming combines strategic oversight with hands-on creative leadership: curating speakers, designing formats and building narratives that challenge thinking and spark new connections. The role will lead and develop CST’s conference producers, building a high performing team with the capability to design and deliver consistently strong programmes that are intellectually sharp, well-paced and grounded in what the sector needs now to deliver the best outcomes for children.
Key responsibilities
• Set the overall programming strategy for CST’s conference portfolio, aligned with organisational priorities and audience needs
• Lead the development of conference themes, narratives and session architecture
• Ensure programmes are coherent, purposeful and drive engagement and learning
• Ensure programmes are completed to time and budget
• Design and test innovative formats that build engagement and connection
• Keep abreast of event trends in the wider sector to ensure that CST’s offer continues to be compelling and unique
Speaker curation and content development
• Identify, secure and brief high-calibre speakers from across education and related sectors
• Collaborate closely with CST’s Professional Community Chairs and CST’s system, commercial and charity partners to design insightful and enjoyable conference experiences for delegates
• Shape session content with speakers to ensure relevance, clarity and practical value for CST’s audiences
• Ensure diversity of perspectives, backgrounds and voices across programmes
Audience insight and quality assurance
• Maintain a clear understanding of the current challenges facing school trusts and audience needs
• Use insight from members, partners and previous events to inform programme design
• Set and uphold quality standards for all conference content and delivery
• Evaluate programme effectiveness and use insights for continuous improvement.
Cross team collaboration
• Work closely with colleagues in events, marketing, partnerships and policy to ensure that programmes are deliverable, well communicated and commercially successful
• Align conference content with CST’s wider community and professional development offers
• Support sponsorship and partnership conversations by shaping compelling programme opportunities
Leadership and delivery
• Lead the end-to-end programming process from concept to delivery
• Manage timelines, decision points and speaker processes to ensure that programmes are delivered on schedule and effectively marketed
• Provide on the day support for speakers, ensuring smooth delivery and strong audience experience.

Group Tutor Contractor

About the Role
Are you an experienced A level tutor? Can you support under-resourced young people to reach their full academic potential?
We are looking for passionate and qualified A level tutors to deliver high quality group tuition to students. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced tutors with a love of learning to help bright students overcome barriers to academic achievement. Tutorials are delivered online to groups of up to 4 students via our bespoke online learning platform.
Tutorials generally take place between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on weekday evenings, with flexibility around the schedules of our tutors and students.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead weekly hour-long tutorials with your tutor group(s), via the online learning platform
- Responsively plan and deliver stimulating, high quality tuition in line with the Quality Assurance Framework
- Effectively monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback when requested
- Complete weekly attendance forms, supply monthly invoices, and complete other administrative duties as required
- Participate in observation and feedback process, taking advantage of continuous professional development opportunities
- Follow safeguarding policies, supporting the wellbeing of your students at all times
Successful candidates must have the right to work in the UK by the time the work commences

About You
You will have at least two years A level teaching and/or tutoring experience and a positive, engaging and flexible teaching style.

- Evidence of ability to tutor one or more of the following subjects to A level standard: Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or Maths
- Ability to commit to weekly hour-long tutorials at the same time each week over the academic year
