The Opportunity:
As a Project Officer, your role will be central to cultivating impactful partnerships and overseeing a protfolio of projects that resonate with our mission. You will be instrumental in developing and nurturing relationships, managing grants, evaluating potential projects, and ensuring compliance with UK charity commission regulations. This role is a blend of strategy, passion, and diligence, requiring occasional travel to oversee international projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and nurture new partnerships while strengthening existing ones to maximise our impact on beneficiaries.
- Oversee grant management, including the evaluation of potential new projects and partners.
- Proposal Development: Conceptualise, develop, and write proposals, prepare budgets, and pitch projects/programmes to funders and collaborators.
- Ensure alignment with UK charity commission regulations and BIF policies, liaising with branch offices and delivery partners for grant compliance.
- Travel as necessary to facilitate and monitor projects, ensuring global standards and organisational goals are met.
Competencies and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability in leading projects with strategic foresight and effective project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with UK charity commission regulations and experience ensuring compliance with international standards in project execution.
- Proven ability to develop partnerships and write compelling proposals, coupled with effective budget management skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in diverse cultural environments. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
- Robust analytical abilities with a talent for solving complex problems and providing strategic insights.
- A degree in a relevant field such as International Development or Project Management, and experience in the non-profit sector, preferably in health-related fields.
- Fluency in English, with Arabic or other languages being advantageous. Experience in leading and motivating teams towards achieving organisational goals.
- Understanding of financial management principles and a commitment to ethical practices, aligning with BIF’s core values and mission.

Strategic Planning and Development

Management of Staff, Freelancers and Volunteers
• Recruiting key staff and others.
• Leading, managing and developing direct reports and supporting them in managing their key workers – staff, freelancers and volunteers.
• Ensuring that processes for the recruitment and management of volunteers are developed and maintained
• Liaising with external HR consultants to update procedure and processes appropriately and managing staffing matters arising
• Enabling a safe, stimulating and supportive workplace where teams and activities can flourish and work standards and practices are maintained.
• Taking steps to ensure that staff and freelancers attain high standards of work.
• Ensuring that staff have, or can develop, the skills and abilities they need to carry out their jobs competently, safely and effectively.

• Acting as one of the two Safeguarding Leads for the charity and managing concerns from staff, users and visitors to the centres.
Finance & Fundraising
• Researching and writing funding bids to secure both restricted and unrestricted funds
• Exploring other possible sources of funding for programmes and core costs, including individual donors, corporate sponsorship and commercial opportunities.
• Working with the Finance Manager, Treasurer, and external
Bookkeeper, including using Xero software, to monitor the finances of the charity to ensure that sufficient funds are attracted to run planned programmes, meet the commitments of the charity within agreed budgets, and produce regular reports.
• Maintaining adequate reserves for the charity in line with policy.
• Preparing the annual report and accounts for submission to the Charity Commission to be independently examined alongside the Chair and the Bookkeeper.
Management of the Buildings
• Overseeing relationship with Landlords and tenancy agreements
• Managing Centre Manager to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
Partnerships & Representing the organisation
• Represent Ark-T as a leader in arts for improved mental health and wellbeing, driving change, particularly diversity and inclusion through influencing and contributing to the key meetings.
• Maintaining relationships and strategic partnership agreements with OX4 Food Crew Alliance, Oxford Community Action, Donnington Doorstep, Safe! and Waste2Taste.
Communications
• Overseeing the marketing and communications for Ark-T.
• Ensuring that key stakeholders are kept informed of the progress of the charity,
including the publication of an organisational wide impact report in 2024.

Young Start distributes money from dormant accounts on behalf of the Scottish Government to projects that are run for and by young people aged eight to 25. Since 2012, it has distributed over £60 million to thousands of projects across Scotland.
You will be part of the Communications and Engagement team responsible for telling the story of our Young Start funding in Scotland to a variety of audiences.
You will also provide communications support and advice to a recently established Young Start development team tasked with ensuring that children and young people are better engaged with and centred in the work of the Young Start funding programme.
Responsibilities include:
•Leading on all regular announcements of Young Start funding to the media and stakeholders
•Interviewing young people behind the projects to produce content for media features, case studies and online social media channels
•Supporting our funding teams to deliver Young Start customer communications
•Managing the yearly production of the Young Start Annual Report, at the request of the Scottish Government.

About you
You will be comfortable speaking to children and young people about the impact that the funding is making in their lives and telling their stories with duty of care and a creative and engaging approach.

You will be adept at managing a busy and varied workload.
There can be occasional weekend and evening working to suit the needs of young people, but most of our work takes place on weekdays in normal working hours.

Young Roots is a London-based charity working with young refugees and asylum seekers aged 11-25, most of whom are alone in the UK without their families.
Support provided includes intensive one-to-one Casework, youth and sporting activities, English language mentoring and access to specialist therapeutic and legal advice.

Ideal skills and experience:
- Previous success of developing a fundraising strategy in the charity sector to achieve growth targets across multiple income streams and particularly trusts and foundations, individual giving and corporates.
- Significant experience in a senior fundraising role, with a strong background in trusts and foundations and digital fundraising strategies and campaigns and experience of successfully managing a large number of restricted grants.
- Strategic thinker with an understanding of the interface between communication and influencing and communication and fundraising and a data-driven approach to shaping how we engage different audiences to create mutual value across fundraising and influencing objectives.
- Experience of successfully building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders at a senior level, particularly with trusts and foundations and corporates.
- Experience of staff management and development and successfully supporting them to achieve their potential.

As the Administration and Liaison Officer you will be the primary point of contact and the face of the Rugby foodbank for all stakeholders. Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. Purpose of the Senior Communications Officer role:
As Senior Communications Officer, the successful candidate will be a creative, agile and impactful professional, who will play a pivotal role in shaping Women’s Aid’s communications campaigns, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. The successful candidate will take the lead on generating creative, engaging content and ideas for Women’s Aid communications – including major campaign moments and brand awareness. Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Communications Officer:

To be the key communications officer representing the communications team, developing the key messaging of external campaigns, brand-building and communications for the organisation and developing public awareness of these.

To lead on planning, drafting and implementing a communications plan for Women’s Aid key communications campaigns such as International Women’s Day, 16 Days, as well as wider organisational projects, incorporating press and social media and providing media support as required.
