Job description

Are you a skilled communicator with experience of working in finance or accounting? Do you want to play a role in helping us manage our resources better? We are now looking for an individual to join the Accounts Payable Team to help us become even more efficient as a charity.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

The Finance team is responsible for the financial probity of the Dogs Trust in the UK and for our overseas operations, and to support the charity to achieve its strategic aims through the successful delivery of accurate and timely financial and management accounting, treasury accounting, internal audit, and managing the charity’s exposure to related risk.

You’ll take responsibility for accurate uploading invoices from various sources into the approval system, routing them to the correct approver and communicating with relevant budget holders to ensure efficient and timely payments. While at the same time acting as the first point of contact for external supplier queries and internal budget holders relating to relevant accounts.

Experienced in working within finance department or in related accounting field you will have great attention to detail as well as good standard of computer skills, particularly Excel. You will also be an able communicator and a team player good at developing strong working relationships across the organisation.
