We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Behaviourist (Clinical Behaviour Services) to work on providing an internal referral service for behavioural medicine, recommending treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress, and assisting with more complex cases as required.

What does this role involve?

As Veterinary Behaviourist you’ll:

• Work with the Community Clinical Animal Behaviour and post-adoption support teams in devising the optimal behaviour rehabilitation strategy for dogs in their care while liaising with external veterinary practices as required to support the work of clinical teams.
• Support and advise staff across Dogs Trust on matters relating to psychoactive medication and links between disease, physiology and behavioural signs, under the direction of the Head of Clinical Behaviour Services.
• Provide behaviour consultations to owned dogs with behaviour problems especially those with a medical component that requires specialist input.
• Assist with staff training through workshops, clinical case reviews, mentorship and conferences.

About you:

With a good knowledge of dog behaviour, training and welfare you will have a veterinary qualification with postgraduate experience as a veterinary surgeon. With basic knowledge of statistical methods and ability to evaluate published research you will have enthusiasm for professional development, research and developing specialist skills in veterinary behavioural medicine.

About the Team:

Canine behaviour knowledge and practice is central to rehabilitating dogs within our rehoming centres, and for the provision of Dog School training and education classes. Science led behaviour knowledge also informs a range of other areas of Dogs Trust activity, including campaigns, international projects and the work of the education teams. The role of the Clinical Behaviour Services team is to provide clinical behaviour services for members of the public including adopters of Dogs Trust dogs and in association with Dog School.

This is a 12-month maternity cover position.

Job Description

Communication, Outreach, and Advocacy

• Streamline internal project communications with the partner cohort and other key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and clarity of messaging. 
• Support the design and implementation of communication strategies and advocacy tools, including developing advocacy campaigns and communication materials.
• Work with the partner cohort to identify key advocacy opportunities and relevant forums through which to promote the rights and needs of marginalised communities in Afghanistan.
• Work with partners to engage with policymakers, influencers, and advocacy networks to raise awareness of the project’s advocacy agenda and influence policy direction. 
• Create engaging and informative content for various communication channels, such as newsletters and blogs, highlighting the project’s impact and success stories. If needed, manage the project’s social media accounts, including maintaining an up-to-date project website, regularly posting updates, and engaging with the online community. 

Information Exchange and Knowledge Sharing

• Take an active part in coordination meetings to foster internal cohesion and build strong relationships with the partner cohort and other external stakeholders.
• Help to facilitate discussions, meetings, and conferences to support knowledge exchange and strategic planning with the partner cohort and other stakeholders.
• Support the smooth running of project events by providing logistical and administrative support, inviting participation, and overseeing the effective dissemination of learning and outcomes.

Capacity Building and Training

• Help to plan and organise capacity-building sessions, specialised workshops, and meetings, to facilitate knowledge exchange and skill development.
• Support the development of training materials that meet the specific needs of our partner cohort and their communities.
• Design and deliver targeted training sessions on communication, outreach, and policy advocacy, enriching the skill sets of our partners.
• Offer expert advice to our partners, sharing best practices and insights on communication strategies, advocacy efforts, and effective reporting.

Person specification

Hamrah comprises a small and dedicated remote team. The person who fills this post should feel comfortable working independently in a remote setting and accepting a high level of responsibility for the project’s success. Required

• A passion for social impact, with a particular focus on supporting marginalised communities.
• Demonstrated relevant work experience and proven track record of achievement in the field of organisational development and capacity building, preferably in the Global South.
• Proven experience in communication, project coordination and external outreach, ideally within a diverse and dynamic environment.
• Strong cultural competency, interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and with a range of external partners
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and in Afghanistan’s local languages.

About the role

Sightsavers are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to support the "Futuremakers Ready for Inclusive Sustainable Employment and Entrepreneurship (RISE/E)" Project, and to manage activities and relationships with key stakeholders. The post holder will ensure that the project is planned, implemented, coordinated, monitored, evaluated, and adapted to the highest possible quality standards.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for delivering this innovative project in Uganda, as well as part of a country team, contributing to growth and expansion of the portfolio.

Key duties will include:

• Working with the country project management team and other funding / resources partners to coordinate implementation of activities and sharing of lessons learned.
• Coordinate all aspects of the project cycle with the partners including effective planning, start-up, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, financial and asset management, reporting, documentation, and closeout.
• Liaise and work with the Global Technical Leads (Disability Inclusive Economic Empowerment) and other internal expertise as required.
• Ensure high quality and ethical MEL approaches are embedded in all interventions in the context of a project that is fast paced and innovative with continuous cycles of monitoring, evaluating and adaptation.
• Coordinate partner organizations with whom Sightsavers will be working with to achieve the project and organization's strategic objective of ensuring that people with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities through both service delivery and advocacy.

• Support project partners in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

About the Roles

We are looking for two new people to join the Media Trust team as Project Coordinators. We have two positions available, one which can be a full-time or a part-time role, and one which is only available part-time.

These positions are exciting opportunities for people who are passionate about social justice and empowering charities to drive social change through their communications and digital campaigns. We are keen to hear from proactive individuals who thrive on having a varied workload, enjoy planning in-person and online events, and take pride in being well-organised and detail-oriented.

The roles will provide support across multiple programmes which offer training and mentoring to bolster the skills and confidence of charities in strategic communications, social media, and media engagement. Your responsibilities will include administration, logistics, and coordination of programme and training activities, such as liaising with charity participants, event planning, training facilitation, financial administration, data management, marketing and content creation, impact evaluation, and reporting.

 We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.

This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.

The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy and varied environment, managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will have experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the general public and managing volunteers. It would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that sign onto the pilot project, and will be representing the organisation to external partners. £26,000 - £30,000

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with the Vice President of Vegan Corporate Projects and the Senior Corporate Projects Manager to develop and manage a strategic plan for PETA's work with companies
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with corporations and institutions, and negotiate to improve/increase their vegan options while reducing/eliminating meat, dairy and eggs
• Work with caterers at major sports arenas in the UK to encourage them to expand and promote their vegan food offering
• Encourage chicken shop takeaways to have vegan chicken options on the menu
• Develop positive ways to reach farmers, farming organisations, and the public, to promote plant-based agriculture
• Ensure consistency and best practices in external communications
• Prepare and deliver presentations to executives
• Initiate and execute projects to encourage the public to try a vegan lifestyle
• Develop and make recommendations for ways to increase media coverage of vegan eating in order to help push it further into the mainstream
• Oversee, organise, participate in, and execute vegan-related awareness events
• Attend meetings in order to brainstorm and develop future projects
• Work with PETA's media and marketing teams to achieve maximum exposure for our corporate work
• Represent PETA's corporate campaigns to the media and the general public

Qualifications:

• Experience in advocacy, public relations, or corporate affairs
• Demonstrated ability to create and deliver presentations, address and overcome objections, and negotiate and close deals

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sustrans Behaviour Change and Engagement Team as it looks to encourage those in Harlow and the surrounding area to walk, wheel, and cycle. 

As an Active Travel Project Officer in Harlow and Gilston Town (HGGT), you will assist in the delivery of the behaviour change programme to schools, workplaces and community groups. The project will encourage and enable the community to travel sustainably and actively, through various initiatives, events and competitions. 

Your role will include duties such as the creation of materials and communications to increase the visibility of your work, delivering activities and events with a variety of people, reporting and presenting to stakeholders, and analysing surveys and other monitoring data. 

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as local community leaders, schools, businesses, local authority officers, along with all Sustrans colleagues within the region. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. 

About you 

You should have experience of planning and delivering projects, workshops or activities for a diverse audience. 

You will be experienced in developing relationships and working with a wide range of stakeholders, being able to build rapport and influence people.

We also ask that you have experience in planning effectively using multiple systems, including Microsoft packages, and processes to meet the deadlines of each project. 

You will be experienced in writing for different audiences and purposes such as reports, assemblies, promotional material, briefings etc. 

You will be skilled in being able to prioritise a complex workload.
