We are seeking an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser to spearhead the Trusts and Foundations programme at the Hall. This is an exciting new role within the team who are eager to invest in this area of income and see immense potential for growth.

Building upon the current small programme, you will lead on initiating conversations with new funders and effectively convey the funding needs of the Hall and capital appeal. Your focus will be on developing and growing an engaged portfolio of trusts and foundations who share the Hall’s vision and ambitions.

As Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will:

• create and coordinate the trusts and foundations strategy focused on driving growth and income;
• personally manage a portfolio of trusts, foundations and other grant funders giving 6- and 7-figure gifts, ensuring you deliver fantastic stewardship and reporting;
• oversee and develop a high value T&F pipeline, proactively cultivating and building relationships with potential funders;
• produce compelling funding proposals, applications and cases for support to secure transformational restricted and unrestricted donations;
• provide leadership and support to the Philanthropy Coordinator – Trusts & Foundations;
• work closely with the rest of the Philanthropy team to identify and maximise the lifetime support of donors and partners.

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Demonstrable experience of managing and securing 6-figure+, multi-year funding from a range of trusts, foundations and statutory funders
• Proven experience of managing and developing a pipeline of funders
• Exceptional interpersonal and persuasive communication skills, with ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders of all levels
• Line management experience, and keen interest in motivating and developing direct reports
• A creative flare, team player, proactive and tenacious
• Passion for the arts, sciences and the work of the Royal Albert Hall

Room to Heal is a human rights charity and therapeutic community based in London. Our mission is to support people who have survived or witnessed torture and organised violence to rebuild their lives in exile, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance. About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team and lead our fundraising efforts. This is a key role in ensuring we have the resources to continue providing vital support to survivors of torture and human rights violations. As the Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, building relationships with key donors, and exceeding fundraising goals. We are predominantly funded by Trusts and Foundations and you will play a very important role in maintaining and expanding this funder base, as well as helping Room to Heal to diversify our income streams.

The successful post holder will be based at our offices in East Lulworth, Dorset, with some opportunity for home working. They will provide day to day support of administration and management of the office and facilities. The post holder will also support Health and Safety, contract management and events reporting to the Head of Administration.

You will need to have previous experience working in administration within a busy team. You will be skilled in using all Office applications as well as being able to prioritise your work load when supporting and responding to queries from staff, members and volunteers via email, telephone and MS Teams.

You will coordinate and/or run social, educational and well-being activities for asylum seekers staying in hotels and initial asylum accommodation in Lewisham. With a great knowledge of local services, you will ensure asylum seekers are connected to local social and educational opportunities in and around Lewisham.

What is Screen Share? 

Screen Share is a grassroots refugee charity which provides laptops, phones, tablets, data, digital skills to refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We use the power of volunteering to turn discarded tech into good quality techical tools for refugees to improve their situation on their own terms. We are now launching a laptop refurbishment training programme for refugees in London and are looking for someone to run it and provide ad-hoc technical support to our team of volunteer laptop refurbishers! 

Role overview

Screen Share is looking for a proactive, self-starter and leader to launch a laptop refurbishment training programme for refugees in London, support tech volunteers to remotely refurbish laptops, respond to faults and perceived faults with devices we have provided to service users, and support with sourcing and refurbishing devices.

The postholder will have experience of at least Level 2 laptop repair and an interest in upskilling others in basic laptop refurbishment 

Outcome 1 

Co-design and co-deliver a laptop refurbishment training programme for 40 refugees and asylum seekers in London 

• Co-design a laptop refurbishment training programme for 40 refugees 

• Co-deliver the training programme in London

• Support with the logistics necessary for running a multi-cohort programme

• Create resources for learners and guide them through refurbishment workshops 

Outcome 2 

Respond to reported laptop faults by providing remote support or requesting a return

• Run remote diagnostics with service users whose laptops have developed faults or supposed faults. 

• Make an assessment of whether remote repair is possible or whether return is necessary.

• Engage kindly, patiently, politely and on a trauma-informed basis with service-users.

Outcome 3 

Provide technical support in laptop refurbishment and data destruction for staff, volunteers and prospective laptop donors 

• Be the contact point for tech volunteers and tech trainees who need support with the laptop refurbishment process. 

• Advise prospective tech donors on their data destruction options and best practice.

• Support the Digital Access Project Manager with the technical elements of her role, ensuring the tech volunteers are following the most efficient standardised refurbishment process. 

• Think critically and collaboratively about our existing technical refurbishment process (including software, hardware, peopleware, charityware, and tech disposal),  suggest alternatives to the methods currently used, support their implementation where appropriate and record that process of development. 

• Offer critical reflections on facilitating remote digital skills training.

Lead by example by personally maintaining a steady flow of laptop refurbishment

• Receive, refurbish and redistribute laptops and other devices 

• Keep Airtable and other tracking system up to date

The Centre for Ageing Better launched the first ever campaign focusing on ageism in January 2024.

Ageism is the most widespread form of discrimination in the UK. And it will impact us all at some point, particularly as we get older. Ageism affects how society sees older people: they’re often reduced to offensive stereotypes, patronised, or treated as a burden. And it even affects how we see ourselves. As the years progress, we start to believe what we read, see and hear, and come to think that we’re ‘past it’.

The Head of Ageism Campaign plays a key role in a small team responsible for planning and delivering a nationwide public-facing campaign to bring an end to ageism in England. The public-facing campaign is one strand of a wider ‘age-friendly’ social movement aimed to make people think, feel and act differently about ageing, which will work on a number of levels and with a range of different audiences.

Under the direction of the Director of Communications & Policy and with an expert external consultant, this role is responsible for planning, delivering, measuring and iterating campaign activities that lead to measurable changes in attitudes and behaviour amongst the public.

The campaign will position Ageing Better as a thought leader and expert on ageism in England and mobilise the public and stakeholders around key activity and campaign moments, working at a national, regional and local level.

The postholder will jointly manage a creative agency to deliver phase two of our mass marketing campaign, ‘always on’ activity, and a moment of collective action once a year for warm audiences and ambassadors for the campaign.

You will have excellent experience in campaigning techniques and communications, with first-class writing skills. You will understand how to influence the public and move people along a behaviour/attitude change journey.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Senior Programme Finance Officer, the primary objective of the role is to manage the monthly and annual accounts, prepare for and lead the end-to-end statutory audit and support the wider organisation with financial insight and guidance.

• Monthly accounts: maintain financial records and produce monthly management reports. Prepare financial reports for quarterly board meetings.
• Annual accounts: prepare the annual financial accounts, including the Trustees’ Annual Report.
• Lead the audit process: manage the audit process and be the key contact for the auditor during the audit fieldwork and follow up.
• Organisational budget: support the Director of Finance with development of the annual organisational budget. Liaise with budget holders across the organisation (fundraising, programmes, communications, office management and CEO) on a regular basis to manage spend against the annual organisational budget.
• Support the wider team with financial information and insights: provide financial information or conduct analysis to support the activities of the wider organisation, including due diligence information required for proposals for funding opportunities.
• Provide guidance to our network partners’ finance teams: for example, reviewing our overseas network partners’ annual accounts and finance policies. Liaise with the Treasurer of Friends of Hand in Hand in New York to manage donations from the US.
• Compliance: support the Director of Finance with the reviewing and updating organisational policies, including risk, governance and the Finance Manual. Ensure that regulatory requirements for staff training are met, such as anti-bribery, cyber security and data protection.
• Manage invoices and purchase orders: manage the invoices tracker and purchase orders system to ensure that the appropriate approvals are obtained, and suppliers are paid on time. Support with payments and monitor bank income for the fundraising team.
• Manage trademarks: work with the CEO to maintain global trademarks for the Hand in Hand network.
• Gift aid: ensure that gift aid is claimed on all eligible donations in a timely manner.
• Staff timesheets: monitor monthly staff timesheets for projects that require them. Manage analysis of staff time across projects and provide actual spend for project reports. In time, we would like to implement a more sophisticated timesheet system and the Financial Accountant could take the lead on this project.

Skills and Knowledge

• Accountancy qualification required (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Experience and up-to-date knowledge of SORP accounting.
• Experience of preparing accounts under the charity SORP.
• Experience of QuickBooks and/or Sage accounting systems.
• Experience working in the non-profit sector.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Structured and organised - with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks in line with team needs.
• Excellent cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Desirable

• An understanding of the charity sector, women’s rights, climate, or international development.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant work experience.

The Community Builder role focuses on making connections within the community and facilitating local community groups to develop activities and events. This role focuses specifically on engaging younger adults (16 - 30 yrs) and is expected to work closely with existing staff and other community builders in the local area. 

We are ideally seeking applicants with experience of community devlopment work, and good knowledge of digital media. It may well suit someone with lived experience from the target group, or experience of working with this age group.

Main Purpose of Role

·To work with local community groups and individuals using an asset-based approach, to help them become more active in their local communities

·To provide particular focus on connecting younger adults (16-30 years) with their local neighbourhood and wider communities of interest

·To create digital content in support of PRC’s marketing and communications programme, to raise the charity’s profile and promote its role in the local community. In particular, to share positive stories to promote community activities and events, and inspire individuals to participate

Key Tasks

·To engage with local communities within Pershore and its surrounds using an ‘strengths based’ approach, with particular focus on younger adults who are socially isolated

·To create an ‘asset map’ for the local area (e.g. individuals, associations, institutions, places etc.) and identify local connectors

·Support local residents to identify what is important to them, and to create associations, activities or events which are sustainable beyond the project. This will include helping people to identify and source the necessary resources and funding

·Bring together individuals who wish to get more involved in the community, providing support and mentoring to achieve these goals 

·Engage with a range of local organisations and associations (e.g. Wellbeing Hub, Police, library, local businesses), individual community connectors and supporters to create a network of interdependent community support, and to facilitate delivery of community-led projects and solutions

·Work alongside other Community Builders in Wychavon area to ensure alignment of projects, maximise use of local resources and share information, tools and learning

·Facilitate social events, community meetings and ideas fairs at PRC and in the local area to support residents in developing their own programme of activities

·Gather stories, data, outcomes and other evidence of impact for both formal reporting and promotional use

·In collaboration with the Centre Manager develop and deliver a marketing and communications plan which amplifies the local impact of the Community Builder programme and the profile of PRC more widely – with particular emphasis on digital marketing

·Work within the PRC policy framework, with particular regard to Safeguarding policies and procedures and personal safety

·Undertake appropriate networking and professional development opportunities to keep abreast of the wider ABCD and community development programme

This role requires a flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to work across some evenings and weekends on a regular basis, to engage with members of the community when they are available. Much of the postholder’s time will be spent in the local community and as the role and project develops, the key tasks outlined within this document may change.
