About this job:

As Major Gift Development Manager, you’ll:

• Manage a portfolio of existing major donors and prospects and ensure a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey with Dogs Trust to secure five and six figure gifts.
• Attend meetings with existing and new donors, developing bespoke, personalised written communications and proposals that fit with Dogs Trust’s brand.
• Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as other teams across Dogs Trust and VIPs.
• Support the Regional Major Gifts Team Manager in delivering the major donor elements of the fundraising strategy.

About You:

With a proven track record of personally securing major gifts from individuals and a strong understanding of philanthropy fundraising, you will be an excellent communicator capable of engaging with different audiences. Confident and credible, you will have the ability to form strong relationships with existing donors and the tenacity to build networks to find new supporters who can support our work with major gifts. You will have attention to detail and the ability to research and match criteria from donors to Dogs Trust activities and events. Driving license is also required.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Area Branch Development Manager to join our field operations team. You will join us working 35 hours per week (including some occasional evenings and weekends to support out volunteers) on a permanent basis. Responsibilities of our Area Branch Development Manager:

As an Area Branch Development Manager you will be accountable for the development, growth and local governance of branches within a designated area. Providing a solution-driven approach with the aim of helping more cats through the effective engagement of local volunteers. You will develop and deliver an area plan that captures the importance of volunteer engagement, recruitment, support, enabling and succession planning to ultimately achieve branch growth and sustainability. You will work collaboratively with other CP regional teams where appropriate, identifying where there are opportunities to achieve more by working together.

Role Summary     

With Alcohol Change UK’s innovative Try Dry® app welcoming more users than ever before, we are excited to be developing our offer to Local Authorities which will benefit from receiving valuable local health data trends and insights taken from our app. This role will be instrumental in designing a refreshed product, recruiting new Local Authorities to join us and providing ongoing support to them to make a real difference to those drinking at risky levels in communities across the UK.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities   

Development of a Try Dry local product   

• With the Senior Digital Programme Manager, take learnings from existing contracts with Local Authorities and develop a refreshed package of support to market to Local Authorities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the drinking behaviours of people in their local area  

• Develop professional, standardised reports to be shared with those who have signed up   

• Develop a ‘package’ of benefits (access to local data, insights, tailored marketing materials, additional support) that makes signing up a more compelling offer   

• Working with our digital agency, recommend ongoing technical improvements to the app and reporting platform to improve user experience   

Recruiting to a Try Dry Local ‘network’  

• Recruit new Local Authority members to our Try Dry ‘network’ – presenting regularly to Local Authority clients and demonstrating the benefits of membership through presentations and marketing calls   

• With support from other staff, develop wider marketing approaches across multiple channels, including digital, print and social media advertising  

• Attend conferences, events and trade shows to advertise as appropriate  

• Work with colleagues in our Consultancy and Training team to explore opportunities for cross promotion   

 Relationship Management   

• Provide ongoing support to Local Authority clients, acting as a first point of contact    

• Prepare data reports for each Local Authority throughout the year  

• Share insights into local data in engaging, easy to understand ways   

Wider support for the Communications and Marketing team   

• Enable other members of staff to use insights from the Try Dry® app and local user data in their work, evidencing the difference that our Behaviour Change interventions can make to individuals

About the role
 

As a Strategic Development Manager, you’ll work within the Partnerships Department and play a key role to build on existing significant relationships. In addition, develop new larger Key Partner Relationships and be actively involved with our strategy to selected Church and Event networks.

Role Summary:

Working for the Head of National Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for securing income-generating corporate partnerships to drive forward engagement across the whole Speakers for Schools proposition.

This role is the engine of growth for the charity: sourcing, engaging, and developing partnerships with employers across the UK. These partnerships will provide opportunities for high-need young people across the UK to access our programmatic interventions while delivering income to support the financial sustainability and growth of the charity.

This crucial role will demand close collaboration and working across all directorates to develop and deliver compelling and successful bids and proposals to potential partners.

This role offers a starting salary of £31362, rising to £33948 after a years successful service.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Strategic Purpose:

• Developing outreach strategies to secure corporate partnerships in support of the Charity’s aims and goals.
• Meeting income generation targets as determined by the Head of Business Development.
• Responsible for developing and agreeing programmatic design for corporate partners in collaboration with programme and delivery teams.

Engagement:

• Working closely with delivery teams to ensure smooth transition for employer account management.
• Working closely with programme and delivery teams to ensure new partnerships are deliverable.
• Flexibility and a willingness to work innovatively to help with any tasks the team might require support for.

Delivery:

• Holding expertise in how Speakers for Schools programmes and interventions enable and enhance corporate CSR talent pipeline and social mobility.
• Reporting on activity to Head of Business Development.
• Confidently discussing Speakers for Schools and our goals, aims via email communication, virtual meetings, and telephone.

• Represent and work to our values as, fostering a culture of positivity, support, respect, and inclusivity, while taking personal responsibility for their attitude, performance, and development
• Ensure that best practice in safeguarding is enshrined in all activity.

• Ensuring consistent and accurate updating of CRM and ensuring proper data management.
• Adherence to data compliance, standards, guidelines and best practices to ensure our data integrity and consistency.
• Other duties as required, as identified by the Head of Business Development.

Education / Experience / Knowledge

• Experience of business development with a variety of stakeholders and owning, managing and delivering an ambitious commercial target.
• Previous experience working with HR/Recruitment/CSR/Engagement teams is advantageous
• Confident liaising with and managing relationships with stakeholders from all levels
• An understanding of the UK Education System and a familiarity with careers provision within UK schools and colleges would be an advantage
• Sociable and confident, experience of building and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders
• Confident in delivering presentations and networking/representing the charity at external events
• Proven capability of working through high volumes of work and delivering on targets across varying objectives within delivery
• Experience planning structured programmes that align with both employer and charity objectives

Age UK Richmond upon Thames are a local independent charity supporting older people across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We provide a wide range of useful and well utilised services designed to improve wellbeing and enhance independence. Our friendly and committed team of 45 staff and 100+ volunteers support around 4,000 local older people each year. 

We have created this new role within the charity, as we look to the future. The population of Richmond upon Thames is expected to continue to grow older over coming years. New generations of older people will have different needs and expectations for us to respond to in partnership. Our local health & social care partners will need us to find new ways of providing support that will reduce pressure on them. We will also need to adapt to a more challenging financial environment. At the core of RABI’s mission is the commitment to address the individual needs of farming people.  We offer one-to-one, expert support, advice and guidance, tailored to the individual circumstances of the farming person.

You will be part of a wider Volunteering team responsible for developing our approach to volunteering and engaging stakeholders and partners through local events, shows, talks etc.

We currently involve approximately 500 volunteers who help raise funds and awareness of RABI within local communities.  Most of our volunteers are linked to one of our 40 county committees across England & Wales.

You will take the lead for volunteering across a range of projects including the development and implementation of new volunteering systems and processes and the piloting of a new volunteer ambassador programme.  The role also includes the line management of the Volunteering Projects Co-ordinator. 

Key responsibilities:

Volunteering systems & processes

• As the lead ‘subject matter expert’ for volunteering, you will lead on the implementation of new volunteering systems & processes across RABI.  This includes making decisions to support system development, testing, communications and training for users.
• Work closely with the National Volunteering Manager and the team of Regional Managers, to ensure they are equipped and supported to make best use of the new systems. 
• Work with the Head of Volunteering and Volunteering Projects Co-ordinator to ensure the appropriate processes and policies are in place to support good practice and an accessible and inclusive volunteering experience.
• Lead on the evaluation of new systems & processes for volunteering and agree clear recommendations / priorities for future development.

Diversify and expand volunteer offer

• Lead on development and implementation of new volunteer roles – including the introduction of community and corporate ambassadors.
• Work with a range of stakeholders to clarify priorities for future development for new types of volunteering – from flexible, micro roles, to more formal roles such as volunteer ambassadors. 
• Develop and agree approach to volunteer recruitment, engagement and development – to support ambassadors and other roles.
• Put in place a clear development plan for ambassadors – including opportunities to come together, collaborate on future content and training etc.
• Manage and evaluate pilots – gathering evidence to inform future development. 
  

Volunteer learning and development

• Understand volunteer learning and training needs and organisational requirements to inform future development. 
• Lead the introduction of new learning systems, volunteer portal and content to support volunteer training and development – to ensure volunteers feel supported and we are meeting appropriate safe and legal obligations.
  

Volunteer communications and recognition

• Work with Head of Volunteering to improve volunteer communication – including volunteer forums and newsletters. 
• Lead on improvements to informal and formal recognition of RABI volunteers / county committees – including introduction of long service awards and involvement in national initiatives such as Volunteers Week and Big Help Out.

Team management and leadership

• Work closely with the Head of Volunteering, National Volunteering and Senior Regional Managers to set direction, make decisions and engage the wider team.
• Manage the Volunteering Projects Co-ordinator, setting clear goals and supporting their development.
• Work with the wider Volunteering team and other departments, to support and embed the volunteer journey and good practice in volunteer management.

General

• Comply with RABI’s Health and Safety Policy, Data Protection Policy and to protect your own and others’ health, safety and welfare.
• Take responsibility for professional development, working with your line manager to identify training that will support growth in the role.
• Promote the Charity’s work. Attending external meetings and events in agreement with your manager. 
• Perform any other reasonable task as required by your manager. 

Person Specification:

Essential

• Affinity, understanding and demonstration of the goals and objectives of RABI.
•  Project management & leading change – experience of managing projects across an organisation and working with different stakeholders to support change – ideally related to volunteering.
• Volunteer management – very good understanding and experience of volunteering development and management good practice. 
• Learning and development – experience of supporting people’s development and confidence through provision of guidance, e-learning.
• Previous people management experience – including setting goals and managing performance. 
• Communications & interpersonal skills – ability to engage and build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders through good communications.
• IT & digital systems – experience of using and supporting others in use of CRM and similar systems.
• Be resilient and open to change in a developing department, and able to adapt to those changes.
• A positive and creative approach to work.
• Self-motivated and confident in working both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise workload and plan ahead.
• A full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience of managing and developing a volunteer ambassador programme.
• Experience of using and supporting others in use of MS Dynamics.
