We have 24 staff organised into four regional mission teams, and alongside our local and national partners, we’re playing our part in a network of organisations that seeks to reach children and young people in every context, across every town and city across the whole of the UK. Since 2015, SU has had a dedicated Mission Through Sport team which contributes directly towards this outreach to the 95. We have recently developed some innovative new resources, aligned with the RJ framework, which the post holder will be involved in both delivering and equipping others to utilise. These include our flagship programme called Holy Ground which empowers churches to adopt a local sports space in their community to connect with the 95 in their context. Half Time is our brand new Explore-Respond resource which uses sports-themed videos and fun games to help the 95 to explore the life of Jesus by journeying through Mark’s Gospel.
About your team
With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the Central team with a regional focus. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across Central England. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Looking to improve life after brain injury for the 150,000 people and their families admitted to hospital each year with a brain injury? Then why not join Headway as our Services Co-ordinator? In this role you will take the lead on vital Headway UK projects and work alongside colleagues in the wider Services Department to help support our key front-line services.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As Services Coordinator, you will take the lead on three of Headway UK’s vital services. You will be responsible for processing applications to our Emergency Fund, which provides travel and accommodation grants to family members, to support them to be at the bedside of loved ones, when their family member is in hospital, after acquiring a brain injury. Your role will include making recommendations for funding, signposting applicants onto other organisations, keeping detailed records and producing basic financial reports to highlight the Emergency Funds’ position throughout the year.
You will also lead the annual renewal of the Headway UK’s Solicitor’s Directory, ensuring it remains a vital resource for those seeking specialist solicitors with experience in handling brain injury cases.
You will support the delivery of Headway UK’s training programme through effective administrative support, including managing the training mailbox, responding to enquiries, distributing certificates, and liaising with delegates and associate trainers.
You will work alongside colleagues within the wider Services Department to provide exceptional administrative support
On occasion you will also be required to work with the Project Lead for Brain Injury Identity Cards and assist with processing Brain Injury Identity Card applications.

Headway UK developed the Approved Provider Scheme in 2011, which is a voluntary standards-based accreditation, for rehabilitation and residential units for people with a brain injury and we are looking for a new part time team member.
By participating in the scheme Approved Provider units affirm their dedication to excellent care, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The accreditation of units is then published for families, individuals and professionals to help inform their choices when identifying suitable provision for brain injury survivors. Our accreditation process is designed to be collaborative and supportive, guiding units through every step towards achieving and maintaining exemplary service standards.
The role will involve, conducting and writing assessments and working with the Approved Provider and Training Manager to manage Lead Assessors, who are based around the UK and the Service User Perspective Assessors, who are either brain injury survivors, or family members/ carers.

The team you will be joining within the Homicide Service covers the Central and East of England region.
