The roles we are seeking a volunteer for within the NSP are as follows:
- We are seeking an Independent Member with specialist expertise in adult safeguarding to join the Panel. This is a critical role providing challenge, insight, and independent scrutiny in relation to safeguarding adults at risk across a wide range of Church contexts. Panel meetings combine evidence-gathering, thematic scrutiny, and dialogue with safeguarding leaders. You will be part of shaping national learning, advising on policy development, and ensuring the experiences of adults at risk and survivors inform the Church's safeguarding approach.
- The NSP is seeking TWO Independent Members with professional expertise in working with offenders, including individuals who pose safeguarding or sexual harm risks. The Church's safeguarding responsibilities require strong expertise in understanding risk, rehabilitation, boundaries, and risk-management frameworks. This specialist role brings challenge, insight, and professional oversight into how the Church manages individuals who may present risks to children, adults, or communities.
Role Expectation
Time Commitment: Approx. 6-8 meetings per year, plus preparation
Term: 3 years, renewable for 2 years
Location: Meetings held in London and across dioceses (hybrid attendance available)
Remuneration and Expenses
A fee of £25 per hour will be paid for attendance at meetings, along with reimbursement for travel expenses. Members are expected to attend six meetings per year and undertake one hour of reading in preparation for each panel meeting. Additional reasonable expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with the Church of England's NCI expenses policy, subject to approval by the Chair.
Support and Induction
New members will receive a full induction programme, including meetings with key panel and safeguarding team members, and access to relevant resources.

Responsibilities
Independent Member with specialist expertise in adult safeguarding
- Provide expert scrutiny on matters involving adult safeguarding and the Church's response to adults at risk.
- Participate in fact-finding and scrutiny sessions, including engagement with external contributors and safeguarding leaders.
- Review and contribute to safeguarding policy proposals, thematic papers, and national workplans.
- Identify strengths, risks, and areas for development in the safeguarding of adults.
- Contribute to recommendations for national improvement and support the NSP Chair in reporting to the National Safeguarding Steering Group.
- Promote survivor-informed approaches and ensure lived experience is heard and integrated into scrutiny.
Independent Member with professional expertise in working with offenders
- Provide expert advice on offender-related safeguarding matters, including risk assessment, risk management, and rehabilitation frameworks.
- Contribute specialist knowledge to scrutiny sessions examining how the Church manages individuals who may pose a risk.
- Review relevant policies, risk-management approaches, case-learning themes, and national data.
- Offer constructive challenge to ensure safeguarding arrangements protect those who are vulnerable while balancing rights, responsibilities, and proportionality.
- Support the NSP in producing clear recommendations for national safeguarding improvement.
About You
Independent Member with specialist expertise in adult safeguarding
Skills & Experience Required:
- Significant professional experience in adult safeguarding, ideally within health, social care, criminal justice, voluntary sector, or regulatory settings.
- Knowledge of best practice, safeguarding legislation, and risk management in adult protection.
Independent Member with professional expertise in working with offenders
Skills & Experience Required:
- Professional background in probation, criminal justice, MAPPA, forensic psychology, offender management, or related fields.
- Experience in assessing and managing individuals who present risks of harm.
- Understanding of safeguarding legislation, risk frameworks, and interagency working.
- Confidence participating in evidence-based scrutiny and high-level safeguarding debate.
- Ability to analyse complex safeguarding information and contribute to balanced, informed recommendations.

Main Purpose of the Post
The Chief Executive will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the RLSS and all its services. This will include management of staff and ensuring the services are meeting the needs of those who require them, in addition to managing finances, membership and external relationships. The post holder will be accountable to and work closely with the Board Chair and its Directors to set the strategic direction and further develop the business model which will serve Religious Life Groups for the future.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership and Governance
· Provide visible, ambitious, and focused leadership of the RLSS.
· Be overall responsible for the management of the RLSS working in conjunction with the Chair and Directors to provide leadership.
· Lead and contribute to the Board’s overall development of the strategy and annual plans to ensure achievement of a One Church approach to applying the Church’s safeguarding standards.
· Ensure risks to the overall objectives of the RLSS are identified, mitigated, and reported to the Board.
· Develop a culture of resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning within the organization to navigate challenges and maintain trust among victims/survivors and members.
· Develop and promote services and practice improvements which are designed to mitigate risk and improve understanding within safeguarding.
· Effectively sustain a culture that consistently meets the needs of and engages with victim/survivors and with Religious.
· Foster and develop a climate of shared accountabilities, learning and continuous improvement.
· Ensure the RLSS meets it statutory, legal, and regulatory obligations.

Staffing & Management.
· Be accountable for the recruitment, retention, ongoing development, and wellbeing of RLSS staff.

· Build strong and dynamic relationships and networks within and outside the Church to deliver better outcomes for Religious in safeguarding.
Policy and Procedure
· Ensure a robust and up to date Policy & Procedure framework approved by the Board is in place including HR, Health and Safety, Data Protection and operational delivery.
· Ensure there is a system in place to review approved policies and procedures to ensure that substantial changes or additions are brought to the Board for decision.
· Undertake operating compliance exercises including annual risk assessments, health and safety checks and reporting on incidents and near misses.

· In conjunction with the Board of Directors, develop a long-term funding strategy, including gathering data, completing research, developing models to ensure the service is cost effective.
· Agree and deliver to budget maintaining a reserve level in line with policy and monitor all budgets and provide financial reports to the Board of Directors.
· Be responsible and accountable for all finances and resources within the teams, ensuring value for money, the avoidance of waste, and the efficient and effective use of all resources.

Job Title: Youth Work Co-ordinator
Location: Charlestown Youth Centre, Southdown Crescent Blackley Manchester M9 7DQ
Join Greater Manchester Youth Federation (GMYF) — a long-established charity running vibrant youth centres across Greater Manchester. Purpose of Role:
The Youth Work Co-ordinator plays a key role in the day-to-day delivery of high-quality youth work within the centre and the wider community. Working closely with the Centre Manager, the postholder coordinates sessions, leads delivery in practice, and provides guidance and support to youth workers during activities.
This is a hands-on practice leadership role, combining direct youth work with responsibility for session planning, staff co-ordination during delivery, pastoral support, and contribution to residentials and projects. The role supports, but does not replace, the Centre Manager’s accountability for staff line management, safeguarding leadership, and overall centre management.
In the absence of the Centre Manager, the Youth Work Co-ordinator acts as the senior on site lead for day-to-day centre operations and youth work delivery, while not holding line management or strategic authority. This responsibility relates to immediate operational safety and session delivery only, and does not include line management, budgetary authority, or strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Youth Work Delivery and Session Leadership
- Lead and deliver high quality, inclusive, and young person-centred youth work across centre based provision, outreach, streetbased work, community settings, and outdoor activities.
- Co-ordinate day to day youth work delivery, ensuring sessions and activities (on site and off site) are engaging, purposeful, and responsive to young people’s needs.
- Work with the Centre Manager and wider GMYF team to contribute to programme planning, curriculum development, and forecast of events planning including centre based, outreach, and community-based youth work.
- Take a lead role in session planning, recording, and evaluation to ensure learning, participation, and youth voice remain central across all settings.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Coordinator, working 28 hours per week, to lead the delivery of Project Unity across England. Project Unity provides high-quality, rights-based advocacy and intensive support to care-experienced young mothers who are pregnant or have recently given birth, helping to empower young mothers, strengthen outcomes and prevent children from entering care.
About Project Unity England
Project Unity England improves outcomes for care-experienced young mothers and their children through collaborative, multi-agency working, delivered through cluster-based areas bringing together local stakeholders for coordinated, community-focused support. Cluster one is based around London and cluster two around Yorkshire, with a third cluster area to be identified in year three. Travel between cluster areas is expected, particularly from year two onwards.
As Project Coordinator, you will support delivery and development of Project Unity within your assigned cluster areas, working closely with partners and internal teams. Key responsibilities include:

You are passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and families, confident leading teams within a trauma-informed environment, and able to balance operational oversight with a person-centred approach.
You will have experience working with vulnerable young people or families in a social care, advocacy or support setting, alongside experience managing or supervising staff and/or volunteers, plus a strong understanding of safeguarding frameworks and relevant legislation. Purpose of the role:
The Kinship Navigator provides intensive, time-limited support to kinship carers through the Kinship Connected programme, a structured six-month intervention designed to help kinship families stabilise placements and access the support they need.
Working directly with kinship carers in West Dunbartonshire, you will build trusting relationships while completing structured assessments, goal setting and reviews to help families strengthen their support networks and navigate services such as children’s social care, education, health and community support.
This is a community-facing role, working from Y Sort It’s offices and directly in kinship carers’ homes and community spaces. You will work alongside Y Sort It’s Intandem mentors to ensure that both carers and the children they care for receive coordinated, complementary support.
Accurate recording of your work is essential to enable Kinship and Inspiring Scotland to understand what is working, demonstrate impact and learn from this pioneering pilot.
Direct support
You will provide intensive one-to-one support to kinship carers for up to six months, working within the delivery approach set out in the Kinship Connected Service Manual. You will also establish and facilitate a monthly support group for kinship carers in West Dunbartonshire.
This may include:
- Providing emotional and practical support to kinship carers.
- Completing structured needs assessments, SMART goal setting and regular reviews with kinship carers.
- Advocating for kinship carers in meetings with professionals where appropriate.
- Establishing and facilitating a monthly support group for kinship carers in the local area.
- Mapping local services and building relationships with organisations that can provide specialist support, training or activities for kinship families in West Dunbartonshire.
- Liaising with schools, local authorities and other professionals to coordinate support around families.
- Supporting kinship carers with challenges relating to the child(ren) in their kinship care.
- Signposting to relevant services, support organisations and Kinship training opportunities.
- Referring children in kinship care to Y Sort It’s Intandem mentoring programme where appropriate.
- Coordinating celebration and family events (including in Kinship Care Week).
- Supporting applications for grants for essential items or family breaks.
Partnership working with Y Sort It and Inspiring Scotland
- Work closely and collaboratively with Y Sort It colleagues on a day-to-day basis, building a strong co-location relationship that benefits kinship families.
- Develop and maintain clear cross-referral pathways between Kinship Connected and Y Sort It’s Intandem mentoring programme.
- Contribute to joint learning and shared reflection about how the whole-family model is working and what outcomes are being achieved for both carers and children.
- Represent Kinship professionally in all interactions with Y Sort It, Inspiring Scotland and other local partners.
- Participate in any joint reporting, learning or evaluation activities required by Inspiring Scotland.
Collaboration and wider partnership working
- Build constructive relationships with West Dunbartonshire Council and other statutory and voluntary sector partners to support awareness of the programme and effective referral pathways.

Monitoring, evaluation and data quality

As Kinship Connected in West Dunbartonshire is a pilot programme, high-quality records and documentation are essential to demonstrate impact to Inspiring Scotland and to generate the learning that will inform future development of Kinship’s work in Scotland.
- Maintain accurate, timely records of all activity, assessments, support plans, contacts and outcomes on Kinship’s CRM system (Salesforce) in line with organisational policy and programme protocols.

This exciting new role provides an opportunity to work within a Whole Family Recovery Service as a Recovery Coordinator for the Family Support and Safeguarding Team (FSST).

Therefore, providing support to families is a real priority for us to ensure that our services are truly person centred and family focussed.
With this role you’ll be working as part of Family Support and Safegurarding team within Ashfield Children's Social Care. This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2027
Working as part of the new multi-disciplinary safeguarding teams (FSST) alongside Children’s Services, Domestic Abuse services and Mental Health, the Recovery Coordinator will coordinate a package of support and care to the adult substance user, enabling them to improve safety and resilience, in relation to substance use and the associated safeguarding risks.

Responsibilities
About the role:

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary safeguarding team to provide appropriate co-ordination and interventions that help to reduce the impact of substance use. Types of interventions to include, engagement and assessment, time focussed whole family, group and 121 psychosocial based.

Undertaking direct work with families and parents, utilising recognised evidence-based interventions that build resilience and enable positive changes to family functioning.

Supporting the effective safeguarding of families through contribution to multi-agency plans, timely identification of risks, vulnerabilities and responding accordingly via appropriate assessment, safety planning and onward connection and referrals to the relevant services where required.

To work closely with local Social Care Teams and other associated family support services

To promote family members involvement to improve outcomes for children.

To provide effective case co-ordination for all the family in support of the children’s Child Protection or Child in Need Plan.

Active participation in agreed supervision and development meetings.

Review ongoing care and support liaising closely with the full range of specialist workers across the multi-disciplinary team both within CGL Nottinghamshire and the Family Safeguarding Team ,
About you:
- Experience of working with families with complex problems in one or more of the following fields: social work; youth offending; substance misuse; probation; health; family work; education; youth and community
- Ability to manage behaviors of distress in a calm and professional manner
- Knowledge of current legislation surrounding young people, families and safeguarding practice. Eg - the Adfam and Think Family reports
- Sound working knowledge of Child Protection
- Sensitivity in working with complex and diverse cultural family issues
- Experience of working with families and individuals where children have a Child Protection or Child in Need Plan in place.
- Experience of delivering training and groupwork
- Sound working knowledge of the impact of hidden harm, honor based violence, child sexual exploitation and FGM
