Job Description

At A Rocha UK our mission is to mobilise Christians and Churches in the UK to care for the environment. We’re looking for a Finance & Admin Assistant to join the team during a busy time as we update core office and financial systems that underpin our projects. You will work closely with the Office Manager and the Finance Officer in helping with the day-to-day activities of the Finance & Admin team.

This is a fixed term six-month contract in the first instance, 30 hours per week, with the possibility of becoming a permanent post in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing donations received by post and online giving
  • Dealing with enquiries from donors
  • Entering donation data on our CRM database
  • Maintaining regular giving and Gift Aid records
  • Assisting with processing invoices, payments and expense claims
  • Dealing with accounts enquiries
  • Assisting with Quickbooks data entry
  • Helping with the implementation of new financial systems and processes
  • Maintaining financial records

Required skills and experience:

We are looking for someone with at least two years’ office experience in either accounts or admin, who will be able to thrive in a busy office with multiple on-going tasks. You should have excellent numerical skills, good attention to detail, be proficient in the use of spreadsheets and organised in your approach to work. As we are reviewing and updating our systems, we are looking for someone who is adaptable and a quick learner.

A Rocha is a non-denominational Christian charity with a deep commitment to our faith, community and cross-cultural collaboration. This requires all staff to participate fully in the spiritual and prayer life of the organisation and so there is a specific operational requirement for the post-holder to be a Christian.

Desirable skills and experience:

Experience of using accounts software such as Quickbooks and/or a CRM database would be beneficial.

Please see the job description and person specification for further details of the post.

How to apply:

Please apply for this post through CharityJob, submitting your CV and a covering letter explaining why you are interested in this position and how you meet the job specification.

Closing date: 5pm on Friday 21 June

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 2 July
