We’re looking for a part time excellent volunteer coordinator to ensure the efficient and effective co-ordination and development of our community centre’s volunteer recruitment, recognition, and impact reporting.
The successful candidate will have at least one full year’s experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate that they’re appropriately skilled, motivated, and definitely a people-person.
This interesting and rewarding role is ideally suited to a well organised diligent professional with a desire to work in a small community-focussed organisation striving to make a big difference to local people's lives. It might suit someone already working in Volunteer Management who'd like a second job.
You need to be flexible, able to work some hours on one or occasionally two Saturdays a month. The ability to take forward ideas and put them into action with minimal supervision is a must. Excellent administrative, communication, and strong computer skills are also essential.
You’ll work as part of friendly team taking on a key role in a vibrant and growing organisation, supporting our growth and development and ultimately helping improve our local residents’ lives.
About Abbey Community Centre
We’re an award-winning small community charity located in Kilburn, North West London, helping local people of all ages to come together to enjoy their lives and where they live more by doing so.
Established since 1976, we provide a warm and welcoming venue alongside numerous social groups, activities, services, and special events in which local residents can enjoy socialising, pursue and expand their interests and hobbies; increase their confidence, skills and opportunities; improve their health, fitness and wellbeing; get information or advice; or volunteer to help make their community an even better place to live.
The centre also provides a home to other community organisations. Currently these include the Henna Asian Women's, and the South Sudan Skills Development Groups.
Local people greatly value the centre and it’s a fun place to work, especially if you thrive on variety and being kept busy!
Hours of work: Typically 8 hours per week (can be worked over one or two weekdays). To be effective, post holder is required to work some hours on Saturdays, certainly once a month, occasionally twice a month
Annual leave: Pro-rata 30 days annually, plus bank holidays.
